Purely because absolutely no-one will give a rat's arse, I would like to make the observation that either of the two title options would be correct is, in fact, incorrect.
It's all about punctuation, and bearing in mind that the original sentence was stated by someone whose first language is not English, and therefore excusable, the first option is a personal statement to God, and would require a comma after "God" and is therefore NOT correct, grammatically, or pedantically, whichever you prefer.
The second option, "Thank God it's Friday" is grammatically correct in both punctuation and colloquial usage, but because the subject was threaded by a none-native English speaker, all of this is as useful as Anne Frank's drumkit.
