I take Offense to the Current Definition of that word..
I'm a Hacker from the mid 70's and I still consider myself of Hacker in that regard.

To Us it meant to modify or alter something to make it better, or to find it's weakness.
Most of the time, we found ways to do things that was never intended to be possible.

The group of people whom we now call "Hackers" are what I refer to as "Crackers"

But I'm cautious of whom I tell, "I'm a hacker" as it is not generally accepted in the way it is meant.

While I don't condone your method, it's not really altering the code in any way.
But it does skirt the real issue of Totem wanting to no longer have old versions in use.

It's only been a few weeks since the roll out of this New Version.
So I suggest we embrace it the best we can, and offer our Input for Totem to improve it.
and as past history has shown, Totem does listen to their members ideas and suggestions.

Whilst I wholeheartedly endorse your comments about @Wyldanimal's tutorials (I spent days poring over them when I first started doing scenes), there was actually a post by @HombreSinSombra in the Bugs and Fixes link I posted.

Another user was ***** about the table and he advised a way of removing it by deleting one of the pictures in the scene folder. As @BJlover said he'd seen a post regarding this but couldn't find it, I assumed it was that one he was referring to. Hence the link. I remember seeing it because I also commented to the user who was ***** about the table.

Actually it hasn't always meant that. Before about 1980 it meant a programmer or program that worked very well but was unmaintainable. Hackers often wrote spaghetti code or reduced object code size by using instructions as constants for calculations. That's my recollection and I was a hacker from about 1963 through 1978. Then I was "saved" by structured programming.

An alternative from wikipedia is "a hacker is a computer hobbyist who pushes the limits of software or hardware."

From 1985 thru about 1992 I was a hacker on the Mac in that sense of the term.

Some of you guys must have way more taste in women than I do. So far I've gotten all the 3k cards and think ALL of them are between great and way above average. One of the coolest thing in life is we all have different opinions. Otherwise you'd all be after MY girlfriend. :-)

@sc00fy: Just wondering what you're trying to achieve here, my friend :) No posts for 3 years then suddenly back with a little moan at Totem's policy which I believe has always been around. If you are able to hack the software to your liking without breaking any legal T&C's and it works for you, not intending to buy the new cards of course as you can't play them with older versions, why ***** about it in public?

In your situation and with your skillset, I think I would have kept it to myself or maybe told a few old like-minded buddies how to do it. I'm not sure publicly announcing this kind of 'Hack' will bring you happiness :(

Yes, technically, deleting the demos file to reload the carousel could be called a hack but since the idea has been around for a long time and now there are no discounts on the carousel anymore, only Totem can gain financially from this one :)

Sadly it's a quite common practice that the software companies ***** you to download and install their latest products and won't let you choose from those versions you prefer.
Some programs stop working completely, if you won't upgrade right away. So this pop up window is not actually the worst possible case - annoying, yes, but can be managed. The program is still working, right?

Wondering now .. somewhere in Settings was such a thing like "display tooltips and notifications". Is there any help, if you'll leave them unmarked ..?

après une réinstallation, en cas de soucis, tu doit recopier tous les fichiers avant de faire l'opération de reconstruire, la Team a du retirer du téléchargement les dites cartes, donc si tu n'a plus aucune trace, ont ne peut rien faire. désolé.

Pirtg, like I have said before you can still preview before buying. Just click model's card to preview the card. Then if you like the model, or outfit, then buy it. Davrwei062179 signing off.

With the Newest updates to the Software. 1.2.0.38 and up...
External Control of the Card / Clips has been removed.
My Add on will no longer work with these versions.

Per one of REX's Software update Posts, he did mention that a Future Update will add this function back to the Software.

Until then, 1.2.0.34 is the last version of the software my Add on works with.
It can still be found in the Bugs and Fixes thread

Well fair enough, I agree it is very good general advice for sure, I just was scratching my head trying to figure out what was so dangerous about it on this site...

Next update will allow external program to control up to 10 shows on screen.

Is it me or has the beauty of the models improved.Don't get me wrong up until card # 1413 they were mostly attractive after 1413 they have become simply stunning. We are quick to blame Totem but i think we should also be quick to thank them for the extra stunning beauties i see.So from one grateful member thank you TOTEM well done.If the first of the new collection is any indication we are in store for a bright future.

I have all but two of the new 3k cards.but what is 3k ? and yes i have two ghost cards in my coll. that's divine's beverly hill and emergency i can see them but there's no show i was there when the bad ***** jump off between totem and divine.i just did'nt say any thing about it.but that's old news now.i don't want a refund. they been there 4 so long it don't matter any more. D109 out.

As for my problem, it was solved by not only unchecking something like "always start inactive", but ALSO "automatically download demos". Sorry if these are not the correct English terms, I can't get my VirtuaGirls speak English instead of French :-)

I have gotten all the new Vgirl demos since deleting the "demo" file, they all say last days but I finally got them. As for Deskbabes they are only cycling thru older demos, none of the new ones have shown up.

Maybe they'll fix this in .54.

I have four of the new 3K cards. Two from Sabrisse, one of Lia Taylor's and one of Lola Reve's.

@Piratg: As with anything in life, no-one can please all the people, all the time. I love all four of these cards as they all have something that works for me :) I agree with notdeadyet. NONE of these girls are PLAIN, to me ;)

You CAN rate each card after buying it, if you wish to, in it's proper place, along with your written views. If a girl doesn't appeal to you, fine.

I wasn't aware that Totem was refunding credits for cards that members just, 'Didn't like???' I can understand if a card won't play correctly or there was really bad lighting or other glitches but asking for a refund because you didn't enjoy the card is a little like going to watch a movie and then asking for your money back because the movie wasn't up to your expectations. Who does that?

In my software, the demos of the new shows do appear in my carousel, but only for a very short time period, approximately half an hour, something like that. I have to be really lucky to watch them...

Being a somewhat sad old git - I have done some Xmas scenes if anyone is interested.

(big thanks to Wyldanimal for allowing me to use his FTP server for this)

Because of included background images the file size is around 135MB.

Copy the link into your webrowser and download the zip file. Scan the zip file with your anti-virus software and copy the zip file to your scenes folder.

Right click on the zip file and select "extract all".

A pop up window will open which should automatically prompt you to install to a folder called No.6_Xmas Scenes. Click "extract". All the necessary files will be installed to the new folder and should be available as a group called No.6_Xmas Scenes on the VG Settings/Full screen tab. Double click on the name to expand the group and there should be 12 scenes.

The folder and the group are completely separate to my other full screen scenes (if you have them installed). This enables them to be deselected (or deleted) in one go once the holidays are over or when you get bored with them - whichever comes first :-).

Please note that scenes 7 and 8 are for Swing and Cage clips respectively. If you do not have these types of clip they will not play. You can disable these scenes by clicking on the checkbox next to the scene name to remove the red tick.

I have the webpage in English (left flag). When I click the "Download button", I get to the Download Mac version page. When I click the "Click here to Download" button, I get the file setupmac-vgirl_1F1Rjo2IBh.dmg. No choice for a language or whatsoever. When I install this and run it, I get a French screen. Since I am not French I prefer an English screen but I don't get that. My Mac is set to English in the preferences, but the Region setting is of course France since I am in France. On a Mac, all text should automatically change into the language on top of the Preferred languages in the Language & Region settings. This works for any program, except for VirtuaGirl. What can I do?

I like some of the standing clips in the older cards.I find it sexy when one girl lifts up the other girl's skirt.

This is also an area where the cage would be at it's most useful. It would give the models some support. Of course, it should be open at the front to avoid blocking vision.

My experience:

I am in the VG forum since April this year and so far I have received only two friend requests from people that have never written or talked me.
Nothing happened strange or dangerous, so I just thought that they had made me a friend request only for statistical purposes.
