I did not see these entries before, however.
After I changed the hotkey from ALT+W to CTRL+W, the HotKeyMod entry was added.
Then I changed it back to ALT+W.

In iStripper there is the possibility that the girls can be activated or deactivated.

The option can be found in the settings in the section Safe for work.
It is the entry: Keyboard deactivation toggle

I think that this information is also stored in the registry.

This key combination works with or without the GUI (program window).

Is the hotkey to toggle iStripper on/off stored in the registry?

Thanks for clarifying the install file locations. I wouldn't have expected that based on the user manual and where files currently reside on my computer.

Not really and this is a home machine, but it happens that friends or family might use/borrow it while I'm already logged in. Use an internet browser type of thing. It's not like I'm going to say, well hey, let me log out and you can log in as a guest or something ... well, I guess I could, but that could be awkward.

I'm more wondering what would happen, for example, if the external drive were lost/stolen. Maybe I just need to understand how vghd fingerprints installations. If vghd were executed from a different machine, my guess is it wouldn't run without the registry data ... but what would happen if another machine did have registry entries edited to access the external drive vghd? Let's assume the vghd system currently has one install on record for the account (I've seen two is the max).

As I said previously.
Only the custom location of the Models Folder is handled by the Installer.
The Data folder and the Main VGHD\BIN folder are always installed to the User Profile default locations.

Edit: the newer Installer does also relocate the data folder to the same path as the Models folder.
but the VGHD\BIN folder is still placed in the Default Users Profile.

You have to Manually edit the Paths in the registry if you move the Data folder, and the Bin folder to a different location.
The changes will take place once you re-start iStripper.

If you are on a MAC, you have to edit the Preference file, then reboot the system, as since one of the OS version updates, the Preference files are cached in memory.
Changes made to the Preference file, are not seen by the Application, till the OS is rebooted.
I do believe there is a an apple scripting command that can be used to tell the OS to re-read the Preference file.

If you keep separate User Profiles for the Other Users
they will not have access to your Registry, or your User Profile.
And if you re-locate the folder to an External Drive that is only connected while you are using the PC
they wouldn't have access to the iStripper files and application either.

If this is a work PC and you are not Authorized to install this App
then the risk is your own.. Is your Job, worth the risk of installing it at work?

@TheEmu I have almost entirely given up on ratings though I do sometimes scan the comments that accompany them. I would like to be able to provide my own private ratings seperately on several aspects of a card - e.g. the beauty of the performer, her skill as a performer, how much I like the clothing etc. - and have this integrated into the iStripper app itself rather than using an external database. But if I had this ability I would not, as is now the case, rate a typical card as 4.5 or 5 stars and it would make little of no sense to average over several users who will most likely be using very different scales for each of these aspects.

I Don't rate much show now, because all the insane score they got for no reason. They can give 5, because the girl is beautiful, even if she move badly, or 5 because she got big breast. It could be 0-1 star, because she have a small tatoo, fake breast, clothing they dislike, a bug, an happy new year show when they want a christmas one (a fantastic show, with an abissimal score), etc.

I would LOVE a personal rating in the software, so i can order girls by MY rating if i want, and not the rating of the communauty.

Rating should have multiple score, not just one, like beauty of the girl, her performance, if she connect well with us, an overalll rating, etc. It could be the time for IStrippers to upgrade their rating system.

If I decided to do this external drive install, I would likely do it in an encrypted partition and so that's pretty good protection against unwanted access to my account.

With respect, you contradict yourself. You bemoaned the fact that people rated a pretty girl a five then asked people how they rate the girl and used 'pretty' as your first score card... Do you think that a girls looks could score a five or do you think that it should only score a one?

However I should add that the trunk of your argument is sound. We tend to rate cards far too quickly without giving the card time to settle in. Either on looks alone or the way she moves... :)

Thank you for the Progressive Booster Packs...Redraw! It worked for me. Bought 100 cards for just about 700 credits. 7 credits per card is a good average. I'm running out of cards that I don't have yet, so it was nice redrawing the packs that had too many duds.

As for ratings, some people start from 0 and make the girls earn points. I start from the top and take off points. It is that is the glass half full or half empty. I like to give the girls the 5 points they deserve for getting naked in the first place, then take off points for bad show, bad outfit, hairy pussy, etc.

Some considerations:

• as some of us pointed, there are many parameters that an user should ponder for giving a good rating.
• as so, in order to have more useful and clear ratings, I think there should be maybe the possibility to give three different votes, one for model, one for outfit and one for performance.
• I would add also a fourth vote about card technical quality: I can agree that an occasional bug which is resolved in short time should not impact ratings at all, but if, instead, a card was shooted quite out of focus or its xxx clips lack sound, such issues - which have no solution - definitely impact on my user experience, so I feel in such cases I would have the right to give a lower rating to card.
• unfortunately, even if all this would be implemented, every person's criteria and preferences will remain totally different and subjective, plus there always would be someone giving bad ratings for nonsensical reasons...

As a conclusion, I would like rating system to be emproved, but eventually I also doubt that it can ever get really reliable.

• The girl - What do you think of her ? Pretty ? Nice body ? Do you like her personality ? Also, if it's not more related to her outfit, do you like her hair & makeup ?
  You know......the girl.


• The outfit - Pretty simple there. Do you like what she's wearing ? Just rate it without comparing it to something else.


• Her performance - Way too many things can come into play for me to even begin to list and even then, each of us will have our own ideas about what to look for.

I think if everyone was rating on the same basic principle, we could have had a pretty solid system. With some giving ratings of zeros because they had an issue with downloading the show the first time they tried and other totally unrelated things, I just don't see how the rating system can even begin to be reliable at all.

There might also be some "Windows startup" entries to disable to prevent vghd from attempting to run anything when the external drive is disconnected during PC boot up.

Is it possible to require a username/password for every time the program is run? Currently, the program automatically logs in and anyone with the files could access my account as soon as they find out the fixed vghd access password.

I suggested this long ago, and @Rex asked the forum to comment on the suggestion. I can only suppose the overall response was negative. I can't see any particular production problems in providing one series of clips, of the several used for each card, in which the performer started with hair up and after a few clips let it down. Problems, in the form of extra time being needed to re-do the hair, would only occur if this was repeated. The particular series of clips could be either the first or the last shot for a card.

I think that such a feature would fit well with cards that start with formal clothing such as that worn by office bosses, secretaries, librarians etc. who then reveal a less formal aspect of their nature.

I agree. I can also see that there would be production problems in doing this.

I've found the simple act of a girl who has her hair pinned up somehow, and then unpinning it so it falls on her shoulders to be sexy. I don't remember this ever happening in a show; which is odd in itself.

Some people may be little 'too' ***** up on ratings.

In the My Collection tab you'll find the number of shows on the left. Directly below the filters are visible and directly below are the shows to see.

If the line containing the filters is not displayed, delete the contents of the search box on the right.

The filters are now displayed. Go from filter to filter and activate all sub-filters. (Click on all.)

Now all shows are displayed.

All filters starting with the second from left to right filter are connected to each other by operation AND.
This means that if all subfilters are deactivated in one of these filters, then no show will be displayed.

After a Full Install
you can Copy the Folders to any drive you want.
Then Just edit the Registry values so the Paths to each folder type is Correct.

It's not a portable install though.

Must have the Proper registry values, and of Course you need an internet connection.
But if you Don't want any of the folders on your C drive.
Everything can be moved to an External Drive, with registry edits for the Paths.

also the Shortcut to the Executable would also need to be Edited.
Or, just navigate to where the Bin folder is on the external Drive
and run the VGHD.exe directly from that folder.
No Shortcut required.

So it is just,
Copy the folders
Edit the Registry
Edit the Shortcut if you want one.

What other shows have clothes similar to the dress in 0845 Kate Shoo - Sparkling Image?
by that I mean like these thin tiny ropes that theres tons of, idk what they are called, those tiny rope things on the bottom of the dress. Are there other shows with clothes similar to that? I think it looks really good.

I have a Windows 10 PC. I've been searching through the forum and help trying to find an example on how to install and run everything on an external drive. I don't mean just models and data folders, but the bin application as well. I think I have seen plenty of information on how to have the program install on main PC, register with existing account, and access models from external hard drive ... I'm not asking how to do that.

A portable install of simply extracting files would be ideal, with no need to register with Windows/registry, but from what I've seen only the standard OS installer is available?

Would it work to reinstall (uninstall(save models)/install) and point the installer to an external drive to install and run everything from there (bin/models/data)?

Then, I'm thinking the only traces of the program on main PC would be start program links, registry entries, and install/uninstall programs entry.

Well said @shodan084, it's exactly why I don't like the cage, the amount of screen space that it requires prevents me from being able to use it & continue getting work accomplished. I don't care for the slide for the same reasons, it shows up right in the middle of the screen without any option to move it to the side.

Kudos to team TOTEM for this current promo! It's given me the chance to finally use up 100's of credits to buy many of the cards that I've been wanting.
