You probably do not need to use much of the above in simple scenes, but even for such things it helps to understand what is going on - and to do that the simplest thing to do is to think of a scene as a collection of flat items positioned in 3D space being viewed from the camera which is looking at a particular point in that space (its target position). it's a bit like having an old fashioned toy theatre with various scenic backdrops, props and characters all on flat cut out pieces of thin cardboard. For 2D scenes an equivalent analogy would be building up a scene from layers of drawings on transparent film as was done for classic cartoons before it all became computerised.

The only type of node that has an Angle property is the Camera node, so that is the only place you can animate it. The same is true for the Target property. Furthermore these only make sense for the 3D camera type.

All nodes, including the simple Node{} node and the Camera node, have Pos, Rot, and Scale properties that you can animate. Setting any of these properties for a node of any type, including any animations you may apply to them, will affect any nodes, of any type, nested inside it. There are limitations on what you can do if you are using a 2D camera.

Sprite nodes, including clipSprite and clipNameSprite, and Quad nodes also have Color and Opacity properties that can be animated. Setting these properties will not affect nested nodes.

The reason why the Z value matters when you are using a 3D camera is because if you are using such a camera then the various things (i.e. Sprites of all kinds) in the scene are placed in a 3D space rather than on a flat plane so their apparent size depends on ther distance from the camera. If you move them closer to the camera (either by moving them or the camera) then they appear to get bigger and get smaller if you move them away from the camera.

If then follows that if you move the camera towards the scene, by animating the Z component of its position, things will appear to grow at different rates if they are at different distances, in particular if they have different Z components for their position. However, if instead of moving the camera you animate the camera's Angle (i.e. its angular width of view) then this zooming will affect all of the items in its field of view by the same amount no matter how far away they are from the camera. As I said in a previous reply moving the camera in and out is "Tracking", changing the Angle is true Zooming as you would get in real life with a zoom lens.

Similarly if you move the camera sideways or up and down then the apparent speed at which items in the scene move will also depend on how far away they are from the camera. This can sometimes be used to good effect o enhance the 3D feeling of a scene (but it can also make the girls look as if they are sliding on the floor if they are not at the same distance from the camera as the image of the floor which is normally part of the background image. You can eliminate this sliding effect by having a separate images for the floor, the background and and walls in the scene but it gets complicated.

You can use the Z position of a clipSprite to ensure that if the sprite is moved it will automatically adjust its apparent size to match where it is positioned against the background - but for that to work you have first to have matched the camera's position, its target position and field of view (i.e. its Angle) to match the perspective of the image used for the background which is not an easy task. I have done that, for example, in the Dodgems scene and I do not recommend doing it unless you really really need to do it to make the scene work.

One ***** thing you may notice in 3D scenes is that the girls, or rather their sprites, towards the edges of the scene are not directly facing the camera. This is because the front face of a sprite, by default, is perpendicular to the Z axis (i,e, the sprite i in the X-Y plane parallel to the screen) so a straight line from the camera to the centre of the sprite will be at an angle to the surface of that sprite. Normally the effect is not noticeable but In very rare cases (e.g. if you are using a very wide angle camera or have moved the camera a long way from the centre of the scene) you may want to correct for this effect by slightly rotating the sprites to directly face the camera (if necessary animating the rotations to match changes in the camera position). An extreme example of this would be if you set a scene in a room and slowly rotate the camera about the vertical, Y, axis by 360 degrees to see all four walls of the room and the girls in those directions - by the time you had rotated by 90 degrees you would be seeing the girls edge-on unless you had applied a compensatory rotation to their clipSprites. You can also see the induced apparent rotation if you change the camera's target differently to its position - which is why I normally animate both pos: and target: if I move the camera other than directly towards or away from the target. This target dependacy can be reduced by placing the target position a long way behind everything, i.e. by giving it a large absolute value for Z, but moving it with the camera eliminates it completely as that keeps the target direction costant.

well, I broke it. Bought one of the shows that was on offer hoping for a reshuffle. Now I'm stuck with buy 3 for 54 credits despite already owning one

The difficulties arise because you are moving the camera in and out relative to the both th performers and the other screen elements, consequently those that have been placed closer to the camera are more affected than those further away which can often result in unrealistic apparent changes in the relative sizes of the objects in the scene.

In principle this problem can be overcome by properly placing the various objects in the scene at their proper positions in 3D space

I finally had a chance to tuck into this and gain an understanding. I have gotten around to figuring out the sequential panning and zooming that I wanted to do with "Ruination 1" and was chagrined to discover that "animate: angle" doesn't seem to work inside a nested node. At least, I couldn't get anywhere with it. So, it was back to animating the camera's position again, and back to the clipSprites sliding all over the place.

So I have thought about your comment above. I gotta admit: I have been thinking in mostly 2D terms all this time. The only reason I use a 3D camera is because the first scene that I used as a template had one, and that's what I have been using ever since.

I actually and intentionally have ignored the z value for the clip positioning, having tried it and having observed that it seemed to only change the scale and vertical position of a clip on my 2D screen the same way that I can do by adjusting the y value and the size or scale values. I have a pretty good sense of what the size and y values need to be when I place a clip, based on the camera size and position that I always use, so I can quickly drop a clip very close to where I want it, and then only some fine tuning is needed. Modifying the z value throws all those values off (of what I'm accustomed to), so I haven't bothered.

But now I see. At the least, it matters when changing the camera position, and placing a clip at the same z value and the camera definitely makes the operation smoother. Thanks again for you insight. It must be amusing to you to watch me attempting to make scenes without a whisp of a clue what I'm doing. You are very kind to withhold deserved ridicule. 😂

I guess the software bases its show structure on market preferences or trends, which we see I guess reflects that. I think that when you stop consuming something, you stop being a target market for that brand. For example, I cancelled my Netflix subscription and I prefer HBO Go. I love Nike, but I don't like their current line and I prefer Merrell, that's what happens with this. Brands change, consumers change. Everything changes.

Just a data point: I normally buy about 20 of the newly released cards each month. So far this month I've only purchased 15. The others just weren't what I'm looking for.

A Word about "Business" etc... We don't know that they have been accumulating profits. They replaced the studio after the fire, including costumes and camera kit, and we don't know how much of that was covered by insurance. I've never known an insurer to pay out in full. But you're right, Totem don't get a free pass on any fall-off on quality.

I'm not convinced that models get paid significantly more for open leg shows - what they are prepared to do is part of the package, like their dance skills or looks. The French girls that they are hiring at the moment don't do it, because they can make a living without it. The Ukrainians need to justify the cost of visas and flying to Paris, so maybe they'll be prepared to do more for the money.

I also disagree that the supply/demand model is broken. The collectors aren't numerous enough to justify making shows. I vaguely remember that Totem have said that about half of their revenue comes from "new users" and also many contributors to this forum pick and choose what they buy. Thank you for the feedback. You will see this in a lot of my scenes. Older fronttable clips are affected by this, but newer ones are not because Totem began filming the entire model for these clips at some point in time. When I create these scenes for myself, there are a few things that I choose to ignore and accept as just part of how it works with iStripper. This is one of those things.

In this case, masking the cut-off feet would then have the opposite effect on newer clips where the legs are complete: they wouldn't show because they, too, would be masked. I like legs too much to do that. 😊

The main problem is people continue to buy shows even if they do not like them...lets say they only pay $1000 for nudity or slight full nudity model .vs...$1500 for a true open leg or xxx show...they can make same profits for 33% fewer sales. The normal supply/demand model is broken on istripper because so many people just buy cards to fill a collection or they treat totem like a patreon or donation site. I actually thought this was fine before the gambling and SE but totem doesn't need the donations because they can hit their profit goals via a slick SE or gambling promotion.

Show quality comes and goes and judgements are very subjective. We need to give Totem a break...the Ukrainian border is closed, their strategy of using girls from there is unworkable and they're using whatever performers they can find in France. I have no idea what the make-up and costume people do about social distancing, but it can't be easy.

If everybody else agrees with you, it'll show in the sales figures and they'll get back to the standards we're used to as soon as circumstances allow. Personally, I reckon we've seen a few very good shows in recent weeks and I certainly don't regard August as a disaster. More like a breath of fresh air....

So I don't think they deserve a free pass because from the customer point of view they are supposed to be reinvesting these "non-service" profits back into the models, so we can get better performances. It is clear they aren't willing to pay full price to get a parisian girl to do a full show, and are treating 2020 as an isolated event, while ignoring the massive amount of money they made in 2019 and 2018 while not providing an improved product. It does appear as if they adjusted in the middle of the summer as Audalove shows more than anywhere else on the internet, and Fanfan ld, a glamour model, appears to do some level of xxx. This seems to mirror their american experience where they tried to save money by limiting the models, but the shows were so poor that they had to increase investment. The good thing is totem is still building a catalog, so if the girls do not make their money back immediately they can still be used to market the product and eventually they will turn a profit.

@Alkasyn - the 16K is the number of members who have ever made at least one post to the forum - a lot of those have made only one and many last posted quite a few years ago. How it relates to active members is anyone's guess (other than it being an upper limit to active posters). I agree with you that the active membership, depending on how you define that, may well be of this order of magnitude - I think rather higher but not 10 times higher and I have no data to support that conjecture. I think @Rex once gave a rough figure for the active membership but I can't remember whether that was in the tens or hundreds of thousands though I think he said it was not in the millions.

A userbase in the millions would also be bringing a different kind of profit which I don't think is reflected in the software - it's a niche within the industry, and not a very well-known one. It's hard to read the OP due to poor formating but in general I agree that the recent crop of shows - the girls filmed during COVID - was not that interesting for me. I don't mind the lack of nudity, I just don't find them too attractive. Celia and Audalove are fun for me, but that's about it.

Most of ALL in my Opionion on behalf or in regard of the OUTFITS and as well as in TOTAL

What are good outfits is very subjective: what the one likes, the other doesn't like, but outfits are very important to me in the buy/not buy decision.
A great outfit of last Friday was for me Takha in the ***** outfit, which corresponded with her girlish face and supple way of moving.
When I buy a show the following decision process is taken:
1. Do I like the model
2. Do I like the outfit (preference for normal clothing)
3. e-card or f-card (preference for e-cards)
4. Is the model a reasonable dancer
When buying a show it's always a kind of compromise. The last years I have become more selective with buying shows, which feels good. A week without buying a new edited show: no problem.

I didn't participate in the August pre-order. Still one point of critisism: too many shows of the same models, so lack of variation. There were three shows of Takha!
In the Advent of 2019 there were far more different models; maybe one or two shows of the same model.

Show quality comes and goes and judgements are very subjective. We need to give Totem a break...the Ukrainian border is closed, their strategy of using girls from there is unworkable and they're using whatever performers they can find in France. I have no idea what the make-up and costume people do about social distancing, but it can't be easy.

If everybody else agrees with you, it'll show in the sales figures and they'll get back to the standards we're used to as soon as circumstances allow. Personally, I reckon we've seen a few very good shows in recent weeks and I certainly don't regard August as a disaster. More like a breath of fresh air....

Let me first of all say , that I am still sure , that I am convinced that I-Stripper - still is the very best Erotic Show Side - respecitively Program in the Internet - most of all in total and it is " mucho sympatía " ! BUT - I think - especially after the last (warm to hot) Summer Months of August in my Opinion - and MOST OF ALL during the last 2 weeks of Shows (second half of August) I think I witnessed a more than less stronger/strong downfall on behalf of the Shows Quality in total - with some exceptions - Kitana Lure, Audalove, Celia Clay and Stella.... On the other Hand - however - I also know that I-Stripper and many others still have to deal with the Impact Desaster of the "Neverending Story" of CORONA/Covit-19 and so far - after my - Impression I-Stripper dealed with this Problem VERY well and GOOD in total ! - Nonetheless I think that the Show Quality did fall downward during the last Month of August - and especially during the last 2 weeks. - NOT so much on Behalf of the Perfomance within the Shows and maybe also not sooo much on behalf of the Models - Girls and Women - Most of ALL in my Opionion on behalf or in regard of the OUTFITS and as well as in TOTAL - most of all compared to the recent Years 2019, 2018 and 2017 - I think that has to be stopped and turned again towards the better again - by some ***** (small) new Show Performance Rules and partly better feminine and/or Erotic Outfits - again. What I mean by that I will explain somewhere around the Middle to the End of September - in a - perhaps - not too long " Show Improvement Suggestion Comment " by me . So, the Conclusion is - I do have the Impression that I-Stripper Shows had especially during August ( and especially during the last 2 weeks) reached a new Low Point - after some Years with a lot of ***** and good Improvements and has to get better again (compared to this August - most of all.). Although I need to say that I do have the "unspecific" FEELING that this is ALREADY in the Making - BUT - perhaps - also not - I don't know yet - so , let's also wait and see what the entire SEPTEMBER 2020 will bring in total - will it be better than this August - most of all on behalf of Outfits in total or not ??! - I don't know yet - but I hope stongly for the better again - also due to some very fine - real good looking erotic new Models who still had been in the Studios recently. 💗😊👍

@Alkasyn - the 16K is the number of members who have ever made at least one post to the forum - a lot of those have made only one and many last posted quite a few years ago. How it relates to active members is anyone's guess (other than it being an upper limit to active posters). I agree with you that the active membership, depending on how you define that, may well be of this order of magnitude - I think rather higher but not 10 times higher and I have no data to support that conjecture. I think @Rex once gave a rough figure for the active membership but I can't remember whether that was in the tens or hundreds of thousands though I think he said it was not in the millions.

With regard to the direction of the girls shadows and those in the background or foreground elements of the scene, You can use a small rotation to change its direction slightly but if you rotate by more than a few degrees the shadow will detach itself from the dancer's feet. There is little that can be done about that without using a more complex shader to generate the shadow - you need to distort the clip containing the shadow from a rectangle to a parallelogram by applying a shear transform or even better by applying a combination of a shear and an taper. This can be combined with the blurring that is already being used for the shadow and even with a gradient applied to the colour and opacity of the shadow. But though this is relatively simple shader work it is by no means trivial. I have such a shader but it is a real ***** to use. Someday I may try to make it more user friendly, but until then i do not recommend that you try to use it unless you are really comfortable with using or writing shaders.

With regard to the direction of writing on the girls clothes, you could reverse the whole scene then the girls could enter from side and still have the writing the right way round.

We never had any reliable numbers and we guesstimated. To be honest, I think the figure of 16k active users (really buying cards) is closer to the turth than 2 or even 20 million.

In your scene the girl (Clip) is : -800, 200
and the shadow (ClipB) is : -600, 195
--> The shadow x axis should be -800 as well, rather than -600

Letters inversion : I chose to let the girl enter from the left rather than let her
magically appears somewhere on the scene, so the mirroring is inevitable in this case (but letters on clothes are pretty rare).

Moreover in this example the shadow is on the right, whereas it should be on the left to respect the position of the sun.

There should be separate clipSprites for the girls and their shadows. Just change the pos: X value of that for the shadow to match that of the girl.

An alternative method that can be used when creating the scene is to nest the clipSprites for a girl and her shadow in simple a Node, something like the following (where I have added leading .. characters to preserve indentation, they should not be there in a .scn file)

Note, there are no pos: clauses in the clipSprites themselves so they default to Pos : 0, 0, 0 - of you use one then then it will specify an offset from the pos: given in the containing node - this can be useful for reflections if you want them to be slightly lower than they would otherwise be.

The use of a node like this can also be used to tie a clipNameSprite to a clip - but if you do then it might get obscured by any foreground items in the scene so it is not always practical. You can even nest a clipNameSprite inside a clipSprite, that way not only will they move together if you change the pos: for the clipSprite but you can omit the Source: for the clipNameSprite as it will use the one from the enclosing clipSprite - this ensures that you don't accidently display the wrong name (as I have all too often done).

I will point out that "downloaded" is not the same as "installed" - though I doubt that there would be that much difference so my 2 million figure is very likely just due to poorly remembering the 20 million. As an aside I remember downloading and installing 3 times with different accounts in quick succession (and never using the first two) before I settled on this account, we also see people regularly saying that they have lost their collection due to accidently creating a new account when reinstalling - but that will, I hope, only be a small proportion of the accounts.

Nor do we know how many have only looked at previews or have bought only a very small number cards before deciding that "this is not for me".

What percentage of them now have a completely full card collection? (+/- 100 cards)
Is it all of the Hall of Fame?

From the Hall Of Fame we can only reliably see the number of those with an absolutely full collection or are just a few cards short of it (last month up to 19 cards short). It only shows 250 entries so those lacking 100 cards would be way off the bottom of the list. But we do not know what the distribution is - there may be a sharp peak close to the 100% full collection or there may be no peak there at all - we ordinary users have no way of knowing. (actually we know that there is a very sharp peak otherwise we would only be able to see those that are one or two cards short of a full collection, I was thinking of a possible sharp peak that might be a few hundred cards wide underneath this very sharp one)

I made this change

Scenes titiii_beach2020_table and table2 : this is already scenes with standing girls only (with some girls it doesn't work perfectly), and the location of the girls suits me.
(You can change my scenes if you want, just increase the x coordinate to push the girls to the right : pos: x, 200)
