Shame i find racing sims the most boring thing ever with flight sims coming a close second.

I agree with you about racing sims

I'm Curious to know what racing sims you have experience with?

I hear many people say similar things, "Racing games are boring" but they have never actually driven / raced in a sim.

But 1st, I think you have to be passionate about driving and competitive racing.
If you have no interest in Racing, then yes, it won't appeal to you.

But still I'm interested to know which Sim, because there is a stark difference between the run of the mill Arcade driving game, and a racing Sim. set up in Simulation mode.
Most Sims, can be set to a novice / easy setting where they are very Arcade like.
Arcade being, step on Gas and Steer. yep, boring...

But a Sim is, Modulate throttle to avoid wheel spin, control braking to not lock up the tires, watch corner entry speed to avoid under steer, maybe counter with a blip of the gas to induce over steer, push a little harder each lap, shave tenths off your lap times..
Get all right, and you put down a fast clean lap.
Get it slightly wrong, and your at the back of the pack..
An hour long race are won, by Tenths of a second, sometimes it comes down to the thousandths of a second.

Here is a screen shot of the Closest finish I ever had.. A few days ago...
I blocked out the names of the other drivers..

but I won the Podium by 0.002 of a second... Two One Thousandths of a second !

Coming out of the last corner, accelerating to the Start / Finish Line, you might reach 100 mph at the Line.
At 100 mph How much of a difference is that? 3.52 inches.
and that is after 45 minutes of hard racing!

At the end of the race, your Heart is Pounding, hands are all sweaty, and you have a huge adrenaline rush..
You've been pushing the car and your ability to the limits on the raged edge non-stop for 45 minutes..
The Thrill of the race, the comradery of the competitors..
