If You won the card is added directly to your collection so you can download it at any time.

I downloaded it in 1080p, 3k, 4k without any problem. Do you have any error message ?

I have a question:
Why the purchased cards are not exchanged for another random cards?

Several times I have reached to the field with a card that I have already bought in one of the previous throws. It would be nice if the card purchased in the previous throw were automatically replaced for another random card, so that I could use the offer again.

BTW: I wanted to play the Goose Game because I thought it would be fun, but when I reached to the end of the board, the game became frustrating. I reached almost to the end of the board. From this point it took over 10 throws to get to the main prize. One point on the dice was missing. Instead of 1, I got 6. Not a big deal. Now there were 5 points missing. I got 2 and get to the big question mark that pushed me 2 steps forward. Again there is only 1 point missing. What did I get? Another 6. Again, 5 points to go. Another throw and this time I got 1. Eh, I should get 1 point in the previous throw. OK, another chance and again I've got to the big question mark. This time it pushed me 6 steps backward. Well, Ok, I can live with that. Another throw and I got 3 and... what the... F**k, no! WHITE SKULL! 😠

I didn't win the main prize. I said "F**K IT" and went to watch an action movie 😊

The moral is: Beer tastes best when chilled in the fridge.

@TheEmu - Yes, it does behave differently then yours in that it will establish a network connection if one does not already exist.

@chicsans - if I am not connected to the internet then iStripper does not ***** a connection. It will use a connection if one is available but it will not establish one where none already exists. Does yours behave differently?

No, it doesn't cover all cases. To me that implies that IF my computer is connected to the internet, then that connection can be used as stated.
If I am not connected to the internet, having an application ***** a network connection is a breach of my privacy.
I find that when starting any other program on my computer while it is off-line a notice that I am not connected will appear. Heck, even Windows has the decency to wait until I connect before trying to do an update. Web browsers don't ***** a connection, nor does my anti-virus.

@Chicsans - the nearest I can find is

Each time you launch the Software to play the Product, you hereby give your consent to Totem Entertainment to remotely install any Updates to the Software that resides on your computer, with or without additional notification to you.

which doesn't cover all cases but does imply that they can do it in order to determine if the particular case of remotely installing updates needs to be invoked.

Since this thread has mentioned the Terms and Conditions and what is explicitly or understandably allowed, could someone please point out in those written term of the EULA where I have given the software, and therefore Totem Entertainment the right to cause my computer to access the internet through any available network connection when I start the program while off-line.

I have the same idea: the result is that I buy more XXX-cards than I really want.And there is the crux. The new XXX cards are a compromise between regular cards and the old deskbabes style of XXX. If the ratio of XXX cards is growing, then that sounds like the compromise is finding success.Personally, I prefer the XXX cards since they give the best variety within a single card: striptease, poledance and a bit of masturbation? Terminology in computing

Unfortunately many of our terms continue to evolve often driven by misunderstandings made by people who don't work in the field.

Data Scientist seems to mean "a magician who can make money out of data on one understands."

Reverse Engineering used to mean creating a design document that can be used to manufacture an existing product. Now it has a broader definition and I'm not sure what the limits are.

When I first heard the term hacker it meant a craftsman who used crude tools to create fine products. e.g. a cabinet maker who used an axe. (One of my uncles was a cabinet maker and he was familiar with this meaning.) Later the term meant a skilled programmer who created highly efficient code no one else could understand. A great hack was some code one one thought could be written in the available space. I seem to recall that some parts of the first Mac OS were described that way.

Well, to quibble if you are data mining a collection of HTML files you probably need to do some reverse engineering of the format before you actually dig for data.

No quibble at all - you may need to do some reverse engineering before you do the data mining, but they are two distinct operations, The first is directed to undestanding the file format, the second is directed to extracting data from the collection of files (e.g. by looking for clusters of data or correllations between features) rather than just interpreting a single file.

In the case of iStripper reverse enginerring the animation files by using a hex editor and looking for patterns in the data would not be acceptable (though it would be very hard to do). This is in principle no different to using a hex editor to look at a an understand a simpler file. There is of course a big difference in practice but the rules are written to cover the general case and in practice that reverse engineering simple file is usually tolerated even though it may ***** a strict interpretation of the licence (partly because it is simply not worth persuing any such *****)

So what do we do if we don't want auto-updates? When I'm logging in or running somethinmg else and for privacy reasons, I don't want this to happen.

Be sure that your computer is not connected to the internet when starting iStripper. Also there can be no 'network connections' available in your list of connections as iStripper will open a connection through any accessible network within range.

I know you said next Friday would be the release for everyone but i gotta ask...

I'm not a lawyer and I'm well aware that lawyer write things to protect their clients interests as broadly as possible. In the License Totem says "the Software or the Product". Both terms are more than a little ambiguous and the use of both implies that they are not the same. Perhaps "the Product" includes all the data files. Perhaps not. In the US reverse engineering a file format seems to be an acceptable practice. Certainly may large companies do it publicly all the time. I agree that working out file formats is a form of reverse engineering, but this may not be something that could be enforced in the US under the terms of the License agreement.

A fine line would be, if you Decompiled the Executable Binary file to determine how the data was read from the Models.lst file.

I agree and I don't know on which side of that line a judge would rule.

When they have lost such arguments it was because of a special provison in the law that allows, in some circumstances, reverse engineering for the purposes of interfacing with other products.

Since there is very little law on the subject explicitly, a lot of the rulings have to do with industry expectations and whether a license has overreaching terms.

I have some friends who have acted as expert witnesses is reverse engineering cases. These were all about reverse engineering of source code. The winning argument often included either the presence of dead code in the defendant's product or a sub-optimal or erroneous sequence of commands

@elfine - we only disagree on the meaning of particular words and phrases. However the term "reverse engineering" does not only apply to executables it applies equally to any file. I have spent most of my working life (something like 45 years) on projects that required at least some, often a great deal, of effort spent in reverse engineering executable software images, data file formats and message formats.

As I can tell the auto updates happen in the background without your intervention or need to do anything. Pretty sure this more of having everyone on the same verison compared to different users on different versions and one user asking/reporting a bug or issue when it was fixed 3 verisons after the one they have.

I believe it goes back to the 2 spots til you roll a 2. I had the same thing happen but I don't recall what it did.

This is true by definition and in an industrial environement. What exactly people call data mining most a the case is the fact to get informations on some sort of data file and it's maintly used for games to make wiki and other 3rd party programs for those games. Sometimes games's compagnies give some little info sometimes they don't at all. So like I said it's tolerated. Decompiling or reverse enginering apply only to executable code. There is NO NEED to decompile a file based of text or pure binary data.

You can take the definition of data mining exactly in the same way to you use the word Haker, people commonly use that word to design a personne who generally do something illegal, it is to totally false. The real definition of the term Haker is someone who is a true expert in his domain, this can be informatic or anything else. The firsts personne called Haker was a MIT studient.

I could go further since you are talking about Microsoft, historically Windows was a bad copy from the Apple Os and Atari Gemdos (but Atari had the rights from Apple to make their own Os similar for the Atari ST). The first DOS version from Microsoft made with IBM was litterally copied from the Amiga DOS. Do you think they didn't used any decompiling method ? In same way Microsoft and many others used free opensource code to make their own formats, this could be considered as a *****.

The only fact is I can't manage my collection without using my own program because of a lack of function in the iStripper app, to do so I need to use some of the iStripper files and to know how to deal with them.
I'm not sharing or selling anything.
I do not blame Totem either because their application can not meet my expectations, but if I can help them improve it, I'll do it.

Fair would be:

I've been on the prosecution side of a reverse engineering case.
Don't know outside the US, but
In that case, It was defined as Decompiling of executable code.
Data files were pretty much excluded from that definition.
the Models.lst file is not executable code.
But one could argue that the Animation files are, as they get Played / Executed as video.

A fine line would be, if you Decompiled the Executable Binary file to determine how the data was read from the Models.lst file.

I personally did not do that,
back in 2008
I wrote a hex viewer and determined the Structure, just by observing the grouping of the bytes.

Asking for the information violates nothing, but decoding the file for yourself does ***** the terms and conditions which say that you may not do this under any circumstances. This includes personal use.

In both my previous posts on this I have said that strictly speaking this is a ***** of the terms and conditions - and I have also pointed out that Totem, like many other sofware companies, do not seem to mind,

With regard to reading a book, no that does not ***** any terms and conditions because one were imposed (over and above copyright) when you obtained the book.

With regard to user created scenes then again,

, we were originally violating the terms and conditions when we tried to undersatnd how the .scn files worked but later Totem provided most of the infrmation themselves so it ceased to be a *****.

In practice Totem only care when we create and want to share "add on" products, though they would also care very much if someone did the equivalent of looking at and understanding the .cds files but with the .vghd files themselves and created a private program to play them.

Of course Totem take a sensible view of all this so small infractions are ignored and in practice there is no problem in rverse engineering the ***** files used by the app, but it helps to be aware of what we are doing rather than just pretend we are not doing it.

30 cards free is about 1 free card for every 12 cards. This is why I think it would be better to have a promotion like a "Baker's Dozen": One free card for every 12 cards you buy.

Or better yet, have one "Special Edition" card every month that is unlocked on the 15th of the month. If you buy 12 or more cards from that month, you get the "Special Edition" card added to your collection for free. The "Special Edition" card stays available until the 14th of the following month, after which it's only available for purchase as a premium card - or even with a Joker.

That would feel much better than this PREMIUM membership stuff, for sure. Most members would be OK with that, I think - and it would prevent all the complaints about the "Special Event" cards that can't be accessed.

Mind you, you could still have other promotions to WIN the card if you wish - that way, there would be multiple ways to get the "Special Edition" cards in the collection (12 per year).

@1VGconvert you can cancel the subscription 5 minutes after having subscribed. The benefit will last for one year and it will not be recurring.

In one year you will be able to choose to renew or not.

Just make sure to select a payment processor having a good online subscription management portal and that's two clicks away.

Most of the members who have their own 3rd party App have already asked for Permission from Totem to do so.
None of these 3rd party Apps, have direct control of any of the Native software.
It is all done, via Pushing a value to the registry. nothing is hacked.

Altering it's content, or creating New content based on it is...

As long as your app is not altering the models.lst file
then reading the content of that file without altering it any way
does not constitute a hack.

Totem has provided 3 features without documentation for authorized 3rd party app developer to use.

Nothing is altered or hacked, but members did have to figure out how to use them.
None of the 3rd party Apps make changes to Totems software.

Does reading one of the official Scenes and using code from that Scene to create your own scene, constitute Reverse engineering or Hacking?

By storing your custom images in the data folder. is that Altering the Product?

Totem has also Provide for Skin creators
Duplicate an Existing Skin folder
Rename it
Create your own graphics
Create your own Palette.txt

None of that is Hacking or violates the T&C

So while Yes, what you point out is written in the T&C, it is also written in the T&C

I believe all of the 3rd party app developer have requested, and received authorization.

A member doing so for their own behalf, Not sharing it with anyone else...
probably doesn't need pre-Authorization.
