LOL, if you knew what all those suggestions and things looked like to me....I can fix cars, trucks, pumps, shoot stuff, break stuff and if your sick I can recommend some medicine (post military education), but computers..they have an on button, and if that doesn't work...I have a hammer (several really) and shotguns.

I can download scenes and install them. I can modify games I play if the mod author doesn't make it complicated to install..but messing with code? Not my thing...want to know how grenades or c4 work? Ohh, and I brew my own beer.

you will find a zip file in the xmas folder. That was actually the original scene, with dynamic lights and bump mapping (see here https://github.com/mattdesl/lwjgl-basics/wiki/ShaderLesson6). Unfortunately it was a little too heavy and we had to release a lighter version in order to be sure that everyone can play it smoothly... however, you can play with it, for instance, try to make the lights move on the scene, you will see the shadows moving on the stones.

One other interesting point is the use of the 'blend' parameter. A bug has been fixed in the latest software version, and you now can use it as expected (before it could never go back to the normal blend parameter...). see we you can do here: http://www.andersriggelsen.dk/glblendfunc.php (you need to remove the prefix GL_ in the .scn, see the xmaslive.scn ...).

Yes I saw the files, but have not yet had a chance to Play and Learn...

Thanks for picking this up.
I have sent my vghd.log file to the actiondesk support as requested, along with one or two things I have done to improve matters - notably with my McAfee Firewall.
But I still think it is a bit slow. It might just be high volume of network traffic.

For me is the normal speed, I have no problem. Thanks @Manue.

I'm on EU server in France, with a DSL connection and I download at 1.5 MB/sec with no halt. And I haven't P2P checked too.

Can anyone suggest as to why download speeds are so abysmal in my case.
I have GB Ethernet and 150MB cable internet connection, but download spped are 15-50KB/sec, and they often halt and need restarting.
I also suspect that downloading from VG causes my router problems - it loses internet connection. I cannot prove this as it doesn't happen every time, but it only happens when I am downloading from VG.
(I do NOT have P2P checked - should I?)

Try unchecking all the rest of the scenes in your folder in the GUI except the one you want to run.

I had a heck of a time with the new xmas scene (and some others) blinking, flashing and freezing up until I unchecked all the rest of the scenes in the GUI folder. Before unchecking them, the scene would eventually smooth out and run properly but took a couple minutes before it did. This wasn't a problem until recently so could be something got changed in the recent version of GUI that is causing it.

I maybe should be a little ashamed of how many scenes I have collected but it's a bunch (over 2100 separate scenes) and I think the GUI was having problems getting them all straight while trying to play the one I clicked on.

Once I unchecked them all, the xmas scene ran fine from the start.

Can't seem to upgrade. Clicking the "check for updates" button isn't doing anything. Should I redownload from the website?

edit: download from website worked fine. Great new features! Makes the interface better to use.

First two are alright. I'm mildly interested in the Antonia cards release. The third one (Mea)...I wouldn't give a second glance at if I saw her down the street.

Everything else looks good, but the XMas fullscreen crashes the program every time I start it.

I went to the website and used the download on the home page and now I have a complete program. What a difference! I still have to check it out more, but I like this better than the earlier version I had, and the partial version I downloaded this morning. Skins are back, Live, Xmas fullscreen, all back.

With regards to the coding of the scene it is a very fine balance as to what works and what doesn't work and I have attached some screencaps to illustrate this. I modified the script to enable certain things the "programmer" disabled in the scene and I think this shows why they were disabled.

Firstly I have seen some comments about some accessories being disabled. The first cap shows that accessories (in this case the guitar) have not been generally disabled. If you have a clip with an accessory that doesn't work then it is something else that it is disabling it from playing. Accessories need to be deliberately "allowed" or "denied". There is nothing in the scene that disables clips with accessories. This includes chairs, sofa's etc.

With regard to table clips the second screencap shows what can happen if the table clips are allowed. The girl appears to be coming up out of the floorboards.

With a lot of the older cards many of the standing scenes incorporate "inout" where the girl(s) enter from one side of the screen. Unfortunately this doesn't work very well with 3 K cards (NB it works fine in the desktop just not in full screen) and the third screencap demonstrates this. Finally even though "inout" generally works much better for older cards you can still get the situation where the model apears from thin air - as per the 4th screencap.

Apart from the first screencap, which does appear to work correctly and isn't "denied" in the programme all the other situations detract from the realism of the scene. This is not a bug in the programme but just the programmer trying to make the scene as realistic as possible.

As someone who has done one or two scenes in the past I can sympathise with the programmer on this one. Unfortunately it does end up with quite a lot of clips, on older cards particularly, not playing.

At the end of the day it is up to you. Fullscreen scenes can be easily edited using a text file editor (Notepad in Windows - not sure about the MAC) to remove table and inout from the "denied" clause in the scene. Just be aware that you can end up with unreal situations as per screencaps 2,3 and 4.

Thank you Totem for this scene. It contains a number of techniques I hadn't really looked at and will be exploring in the future.

How I must to do to recover all demo clips on bought cards, removed by previous version? Is there any way?
Excepting to delete the card and download again. I have too many cards to do that; it's hard to find where was removed demo clips, decause some of them was not removed and also can be very difficult to download sooo many contents.

The more you do it..the more it will come naturally. Hombre & I knew NOTHING about this 2 years ago
however we had 2 grand masters @WA and @TheEmu who have documented all their .scene codings
along the way. If any of us disappear, the //comments remaining will help unravel what puzzels peeps learning.
We learn by teaching each other.

I try to share my pea brain of what you guys teach us...But I can never do it better than you guys do. The feeling knowing you helped is what matters :)

Spend enough time around here and you're going to learn stuff. In the last 3 years, I've learned how to make comic images, animated gifs, iStripper scenes, replacement card thumbnails, skins and too many other things I can't think of right now. All of these things are now added to my skill set. Whether or not that may help ME in the future doesn't matter. I've had fun along the trail :) I'm just happy to help other members when I can :)

Pretty sure all the other guys who like to help feel the same way ...
