@Dorsai6 - I was aware of the factors you mention but did not want to complicate matters as I was primarily saying why I would be reluctant to pay double for a duo card. In reality the situation is even more complex because the sales of a duo card may at least in part be at the expense of reduced sales of other cards - especialy if the duo card was priced relatively cheaply - or it just might trigger extra sales of the other cards that the participants have produced. And on top of all that there is the final complication that the economists' ideal "rational man" does not exist and customers will often react in irrational ways to price changes.

I agree that your estimate of costs is about right, but the cost to produce a card is only half of the equation in calculating a fair price. The other half is an estimate of the number of cards that would be sold. Those two girls will produce a number of singles as well as one duo, but perhaps fewer cards overall than a single girl would product in the same amount of time.

If a duo would not sell as well as current iStripper regular cards, a price of more than double might be justified. If the production time of a duo is longer than a solo card, this might also justify a higher price to make up for the lost revenue from the extra singles that could not be produced for lack of time.

If I were in Totem's position, I try a few experiments with a relatively high price. It's much easier to lower prices than to raise them. If sales exceed expectations, the price could be lowered to a fair level. If sales fail to meet expectations, the price could also be lowered to see the effect on sales. In either case Totem will learn enough determine whether they can make a profit from new duos.

@kellyoreilly gave a good analysis of the things Totem needs to consider.

I mostly purchase XXX cards, and expect XXX type action, and lots of it. But, rather than go on, I'm quoting several who have posted their comments.

You guys should get lots of good ideas, if your intent is to make the best possible XXX cards for those who want to purchase XXX entertainment based on the medium and techiniques used by this company for its productions.

DeskBabes moved from short clips with XXX material in them to longer clips with XXX in them. This is a good thing. iStripperXXX moved from several longer clips with XXX in them to fewer clips of the same length with XXX in them. This is a bad thing.

I like longer clips (4 to 5 minutes) with most of them containing XXX material. That's why it's called iStripperXXX. These are supposed to be strippers, not porn stars, but if you're going to call it XXX, it should have XXX material. But there should be some dancing and teasing. It isn't iXXX, but iStripperXXX.

Make the xxx dance simulate sex movements, whereas the regular sets simulate strip tease. Heck, you could even pair outfits. So istripper regular series has a full piece business set with lingerie underneath. And then the accompanying xxx card has just the full lingerie. Any direction that adds more dancing and encourages a diversity of moves if best. I think every girl on the site can learn to shake their ass, do the splits to the best of their abilities, and use the poll as a prop well enough to show off.

The old format was good as it was. The only thing I would improve is the sound, because in some cards you can barely hear the model and in others it is so loud you have to tune down the speakers.

The new format needs more explicit clips on the table. The New XXX rated format is for me almost exact like the normal iStripper format, for me it's iStripperXXXlight. There should be longer or more explicit clips.

For Striptease & Dancing I the normal iStripper cards are great. But for me Dancing Clips don't interest me in XXX Rated Cards. I buy the XXX cards for explicit Content.

IstripperXXX should be littered with pantiless/crotchless outfits, sheer lingerie, cupless bras, micro bikinis, tube skirts/tops with nothing underneath, masturbating on the glass, etc. I think the new outfit has more potential for more interesting shows, but the format could be lazily produced to just be Istripper with a dildo.

Of course, as with most things, this will be a business decision. And, if you find that diluting the XXX cards, or eliminating them altogether will make more in sales and profits, keep exisiting customers, and still gain new customers, then that is what you should do.

1. Are you losing or gaining customers and overall sales and profits as you release XXX shows? You gained me as a customer because of the XXX shows. And, if I like a girl, I am likely to buy her other cards, too, because I like to collect. Many of your customers are collectors. But, if you lose two customers who buy more cards even though you gained me who might buy less, then you should just drop XXX altogether.

2. Does the incremental sales and profit increases from the XXX shows exceed the incremental sales and profit increases from the XXX lite shows? Or from the regular full nudity striptease shows? If you are gaining XXX customers and sales without losing Stripper customers and sales, you should be making more money.

3. Does the marginal revenue from XXX shows exceed the marginal costs, and does the total profit (number of sales time the MR - MC) add more to the bottom line than if the same effort and costs were applied to the XXX lite? Or applied to the regular full nudity striptease shows? It would seem, with your overhead already covered by your standard striptease productions, that your marginal costs should decrease, and your marginal profits should increase.

With regards to XXX duo cards. I would be happy to see the occasional duo card both for XXX cards, and indeed for non-XXX cards, but would not like for them to become the norm as they once were for DeskBabes.

If duo cards were occasional specials then I would be happy to pay a somewhat higher price than that for solo performances, but not as much as the double or more that @WyldAnimal has suggested. Although the girls fees, hotel room charges and things like make up time would be doubled the rest of the cost in producing the card would, I imagine, remain pretty much the same as for a solo card, as would all other overheads such as office rental, staff salaries etc. all of which have to be taken into account when deciding prices.

(The latest version of the software seems to handle this a bit better than earlier versions in that it no longer results in there being two almost identical posts - but the error message about me being forbidden to post was a bit "scary".)

One thing customers need to understand, some of the models don't do toys, only finger stuff. So if you see a model that's all fingers, there is a good chance that's all they will do at this point in their career. I don't think the team making a decision to exclude toys. Myself I would like to have the fingering over not having an xxx card at all for that model.

and I agree with him. Pop up summaries on the Girls Store page and on the various carousels giving the number of clips of each type for a card would be a useful addition. The information is all readily available and it just needs a way to ask that it be displayed (it would, I think, be too intrusive to always display it, so there needs to be some way to ask for this information). I suspect that there are quite a few who would use the information to guide their purchases.

This time, although I see his point, I disagree. I think both were a good idea that did not quite work out as hoped.

Cages are rather too intrusive on the desktop (though great in fullscreen scenes designed to use them). I would like to see them return every now and again. Perhaps a lighter style of cage would work better on the desktop - e.g. one with two thick bars near the center of the front of the cage (so that the girls could lift themselves up on them as they often did with the old cages) but with thinner bars at the sides so that the cage was not so obtrusive.

I quite like seeing the occassional swing clip, but always feel that they are lacking something. When I use them in fullscreen scenes I always add a few degrees of side to side swaying motion which makes the overall motion a bit more lively. Perhaps there could be clips where the girl is standing on the swing - some of these could be rear views.

For some swing clips the swing could be made deeper and wider so that it became a swinging platform. The girls could then lie on it over a cushion that raised their hips, or could just kneel or crouch on it with their arses in the air and pointing towards the camera.

Swing clips featuring a trapeze or a suspended hoop would also be good - but would need girls who knew how to use them properly rather thann just sit and gently swing on them, and such girls are likely to be rare.

I like cncbehrends29's idea of a trampoline, but am not certain that it would be practical - but the alternatives of jumping jacks, jumping on the spot and skipping ought to be possible (there are already a few cards that feature such things, but they are few and far between).

The idea of such clips reminds me of an old "Tomorrow's World" program broadcast by the BBC in the late sixties or very early seventies. In it the rather well endowed female presenter was being shown a new vibration platform used to test satellites. She was standing on it as the vibration frequency was sept up and down. A more memorable example of resonance I have never seen.

As I stated in another thread, I like to see dancing clips in XXX cards, so I support the new format, but it needs:

• the introducing clip back (done)
• more sound, at least in all table clips (done)
• MORE xxx action (if it's a XXX card, it should have more XXX than a regular card)
• more toys, at least one clip pro card.

About XXX: as once @Wyldanimal stated (and as we all can see in older and classic cards), XXX content has always been in the product; I like it and I absolutely don't want to see it gradually disappear. I, instead, think that every regular card too should have at least an XXX clip.

I know, I need to work on the self-importance issue I have but I dropped out of high school as a kid, never graduated and was in and out of jail. I joined the military, straightened out my life and today I have 4 associate degrees and almost done with my bachelors. I just fell like I have a lot to prove to myself and my family and I go about it the wrong way. At least I'm honest with myself.

That said, I saw a lot of people ***** xxx cards is if they were ***** to buy them. They are two seperate things but now that Totem merged buying them with iStripper cards, I've bought xxx cards on accident more than a few times. I think these need to be seperated in that screen.

I stopped buying XXX cards, like a lot of other people, becuase they were almost always completely table shows. Add a few standing clips so we can see the girls ass to each card and I'll start buying them again.

I've been told there are standing clips in some XXX cards but with no way to confirm that until after you buy the card, I'm not going to waste the money to find out. Maybe you all should tell us what kind of clips are included in cards and how many.

I didn't really mind the old format as far as the explicity goes. It's XXX; it's what you'd expect. I don't mind if you tone it down and make it more elegant and sensual instead of a dildo fest.

I'm not happy with the previews as of now and don't really care if you add nudity in them or not. I stopped downloading and watching them as well. Most weren't helpful anyway as they don't show the girls ass. You guys need to understand that you have members that are here for the ass. Most of your preview pictures don't show it as well as your preview dances. That's not too much to ask to show the ass of each girl and the boobs for the boob guys. We are the majority and you lose sales from me all the time because of it.

It has been suggested that XXX cards are becoming nothing more than non-XXX cards with a few XXX clips added. It has also been suggested that those who do not want XXX action can just disable those clips. In my opinion neither of these are true, nor should they be. Even though the structure if the two ranges of cards are converging they should still differ in at least the following aspects (over and above the obvious one of the presence of XXX content)

Clothing and initial state of undress

I would expect that, on average, the style of clothing would differ between XXX and non-XXX cards. Cards in which the girls are wearing ordinary, everyday clothing could be expected to be common in the non-XXX range but rather rare in the XXX range, conversely "exotic" clothing such as crotchless panties and fetish wear could be expected to be more common among the XXX cards.

I would expect that XXX cards that started with a fully dressed performer would be less common than for the non-XXX cards.

Rate of progression of hotness level.

I would expect that the XXX cards would tend to pass through the lower "hotness" levels somewhat more quickly than was the case for the non-XXX cards, though not necessarily very much more so - there should be some variation in pace between cards. However the the XXX cards can include crotch grabbing and light masterbation clips as well as those in which a sex toy is shown or lightly used while still dressed so this does not necessarily mean that an XXX card should always imply a fast "race to nakednes".

Proportion of table clips

I would expect that XXX cards have a higher proportion of table clips than the non-XXX cards as these seem slightly better suited to the XXX cards than the non-XXX cards.

Here is an example of what I have in mind: I set show duration to all clips. I activate iStripper XXX only. I click a new checkbox below progressive hotness called "controlled hotness". An iStripper XXX card starts playing but only the first two hotness levels. It continues playing clips for the same card from those two levels until I right-click and select the new "hotter" control. Now it plays only clips that are topless or nudity. Each time I select hotter it moves up a level until all I'm seeing are XXX clips. The card doesn't change until I right-clip and select next model or next outfit at which time the hotness resets to tease.

I can think of lots of ways to embellish the above capability. You might offer 3 or 4 levels of controlled hotness where the user can defined which hotness level(s) each level of controlled hotness includes. You might allow the user to preset that the hotness level steps up after a certain number of clips have been played at a particular level. You might allow the users to select staging as well as hotness level. For example, I might want to start every new card with a window washing clip if one was available. Or, perhaps I want a mix of standing and pole clips at the first level and on bar teasing clips at the next with XXX only at the highest.

I see I have drifted off topic so I'll stop now.

This would be ideal, allow to save the progressive playment of one or more groups of progressive hotness which should be sticky settings (so remembering these settings and playment location when switching to another model then back to the current, with a reset to default option. Allow suppression of certain models in the context menu so as to ignore and remove from the playlist entirely, so not just a skip but skip and inactivate so it wont play again).

Normal cards and XXX cards should clearly be different, they are labeled as different products. You buy a normal card you expect the stripping and dancing, you buy an xxx card you expect xxx things happening, whether it's standing, pole usage or taskbar clips. They have been 100% XXX focused with some stripping foreplay, the outcry was for diversity in the cards, not watering down the XXX.

I agree completely, @TheEmu! I'm thinking of one DeskBabes card in particular (Linet A & Sasha Jones Duo #532) where "Scene 4" is split into 3 pieces. Unfortunately, the clip breaks are not in places where there is a break in the action.

Te tripple x stuff has no great appeal to me. I realize that there are different strokes fr different folks. I have always like the strip in strip tease. The tease is just as important. As of late there have been very few XXX cards and now you make them even less different from the other cards ? I've been off Virtualgirl for over a year due to a dead OS moved and then could not find my install disks so I had to get Windows 10. But not until after the free download was over. What is the new format vs. the old one? I can tell you this much. The video quality is excellent. They seem to have gotten the right lighting with green screen formula down. No choppy edges that I can see.

I voted for the "old" format with some tuning.

First, I own every card. Yes, every single "VirtuaGirl", "DeskBabes", "VirtuaGirlClassic", "iStripper", and "iStripperXXX" card. I will continue to buy every one, and I don't have them running most of the time.

However, when I go back and look at early DeskBabes cards vs. later DeskBabes cards vs. the first several iStripperXXX cards vs. the last several iStripperXXX cards I find something of a disturbing trend. Note that I'm referring only to Solo cards. Duo cards aren't the same, and since Totem has decided to stop the Duo card, it doesn't really matter. I also ignored the "Preview" clips, as most of them are "No Nudity" and very short (about 20 seconds).

The first DeskBabes cards have mostly short (less than 2 minute) clips, with about half "Full Nudity" and half "XXX". As far as "Table" vs. "Standing", it depends greatly on the model, but seems to be weighted toward the "Table" clips.

Later DeskBabes cards begin to have longer clips, but still about the same total length of film. That means fewer clips, but each clip is about twice as long. Still about the same ratio of "Full Nudity" to "XXX", both in terms of number of clips and time.

There are some cards with very few XXX clips. For example, Linet A #531 has 3 XXX clips out of 10 total, comprising 12:22 out of 35:44 total time.

There are also some cards with almost all XXX clips. For example, Angel Diamond #575 has only 1 clip of 4 minutes that is not XXX.

These later cards also tend to be almost exclusively "Table" clips, even for the clips that aren't XXX.

The very first iStripperXXX card (Vanessa Black) and the very last DeskBabes card (Vanessa Decker) have almost exactly the same split for number of clips between XXX and everything else, but Ms. Black's clips are about twice as long as Ms. Decker's.

By the time I get to Tricia Teen's card (#112) however, there are far fewer XXX clips and thus a significantly lower percentage of total time devoted to XXX.

The last iStripperXXX card (Rebecca Volpetti #206) has only two XXX clips, each about 4:45 long, but 12 other clips for a total of over 20 minutes. I realize this is a long post, so here's the point:

DeskBabes moved from short clips with XXX material in them to longer clips with XXX in them. This is a good thing. iStripperXXX moved from several longer clips with XXX in them to fewer clips of the same length with XXX in them. This is a bad thing.

I like longer clips (4 to 5 minutes) with most of them containing XXX material. That's why it's called iStripperXXX. These are supposed to be strippers, not porn stars, but if you're going to call it XXX, it should have XXX material. But there should be some dancing and teasing. It isn't iXXX, but iStripperXXX.

I would LOVE to see some cosplay, and or body painted costumes get implemented. Those with some butt jewels and tails I think would be a fairly nice touch. I think it would be a nice touch. Also, I would like to see more workout oriented clips, not necessarily weights, but jumping activities and such. Plus, I like the apparel (sports bras and booty shorts "yoga pants are my kryptonite" ;)
