Automatic update of Firefox is deactivable, and also automatic update of mobile-apps on Android is.
We just ask to get such a deactivate function also on Istripper. As a compensation, Team could for example decide to give technical support only to members having last version installed.

It also updated mine without asking - extremely fast and almost silent - and that is the reason why I'm totally unhappy about this new procedure :-(

Previously when I did a manual update I knew that I had to

• remove the start-menu icons
• delete the totally useless autostart entry (which is always put there, even though I deactivated autostart in the settings)
• and empty my trash bin

Others in my household have access to my computer - I take care of not having iStripper running, when anybody is around, but I cannot switch accounts anytime someone enters the room. The current installation is hidden well enough for my household (there are no computer experts around) - but with the current kind of silent update it will sooner or later happen, that I do not recognize an update - and then it is way too easy do detect it by just opening the start-menu.

And yes @celine: In this aspect iStripper is very different from any Firefox or mobile-app on my smartphone!

Please: Make the auto-update optional or only by clicking "Update Now" - or make it very clear that an update has happened (e.g. by showing a window with version information, which has to be clicked away actively - like some mobile-apps already do). Or add the possibility to supress the creation of the start-menu icons and the autostart entry. Otherwise I do not see an option at the moment to avoid deinstalling iStripper completely.

Consider this: I have already lost 2 members of my family to ***** related to gambling addictions. After that happened I made a promise to myself to never touch a slot machine or scratch card or anything else related to gambling for as long as I live. How then is someone like me ever going to be able to get my hands on any of the special event cards if the only way to ever obtain them is to gamble for them?

Perhaps totem could offer the special event cards as timed exclusives, ie after say six months they make them available for regular purchase. They could even charge a higher than normal price for them as I would still be willing to pay extra for a card of a girl I am interested in as long as I didn't have to gamble for it.

I have to say that I had given uo on the scratch card game, having had to quit and re-open iStripper a number of times in an attempt to get it to work, until I at one point lost contact with my entire collection. But with expert help help from a member of the istripper team function was restored.

I then found myself with 197 credits in credit and decided to give the Scratch game a go, with a mental note to myself to limit my expenditure to 47 credits. But during 45 minutes of playing, through winning several 50 credits I eventually won the Melena special event card and gained 136 credits as well. It demonstarted to me that the game can produce wins. I have always found it best in lotteries , Auctions or betting to decide in advance what ones spending limit is and stick to it.

You would actually have trouble trying to find a store in my area that Does Not sell lottery tickets. Convenience stores, department stores and grocery stores alike. Billboards are everywhere, giving the current total winning value for each of the two big money games being played here.

Don't know about the US but in the UK many local stores sell lottery tickets and lottery scratchcards. Some people go to the stores specifically to gamble.

Yes it is quite common during the Gift giving Holidays, when a Very Popular toy or gaming console is in Limited supply.
Customers put their name into a drawing, or on a list, and names are drawn out to see who can get one..
It's either done live at the store, or they will call you and let you know your name was drawn, Do you want it.
Give your CC number and come pick it up before closing or you loose it.

@guvato Based on my experience, you can't win any card that is newer than 45 days (except for the new special event card of Melena)...

Updating my own earlier post: unlike some of the earlier promos, this time the 45 day limit seems to be refreshed while the promotion is ongoing. In one of the earlier promos it seemed to be so that the limit was set once the promo started: you could only win cards that were 45+ days old on the first day of that promo. None of the cards that became 45+ days old while the promotion lasted, were available to win at any point.

This time, it seems that the day limit is updated during the promo. When I played on Friday, "regular" card wins stopped altogether once I had won the last of the missing cards 45+ days old.

Now that I spinned a few more times (= making my Joker stakes get from 192 to even 200 for heck of it :) ), I won Madison's "Sunny Day" (45 days at the time of playing today), Florane Russell's "Unleashed" (45 days at the time of playing today) and Valeria Borghese's "Up For Review" (47 days at the time of playing today).

Above is just to let you know that you can win more cards now up until thursday than you could win on weekend.

It just updated mine without asking, so I guess then this isn't the first version to do so.

Most of the softwares or mobile app you use do update automatically , so does Firefox for instance...
And I'm sure that you don't condition the installation of a software or app to the fact that it auto updates or not...

The main reason why we switch to this model of auto-update is because having so many different versions running simultaneously makes it really difficult to continue developing improvements (including improvements YOU are requesting) that will be compatible with all our previous versions.

The main reason why we do it now with version 1.2.234 is that this version does not contain big technical change, which means that iStripper is technically very stable :) Plus it will allow every one to get a chance to win a joker card, which is a card that you can exchange for ANY show, inclusing the Special event cards that make some of you moan :-P

On another note i forgot to mentiopn in the previous comment is that the bare minimum should be cards in 1080 res because we are spending our hard earned cash on this it does us no good to get cards from 2009 and have not aged well.

I agree that the old cards are not looking so good. I've had to disable some of my favorite models like Zuzanna Drabinova because the quality is so terrible.

I dislike gambling but out of curiosity I thought I would give the scratch game a try. It is the only chance I have of getting two special cards I really want. Out of four scratch card attempts, I won 10 credits and a 1080P card. Now I will cross my fingers and hope my snowball in hell does not melt.

Totem can see the results of each of their special offers, including the special events, and as they continue to offer them we can be pretty sure that the number of lost customers is not high enough to be a major concern.

Kinda like how EA, Bethesda, Activision and other major gaming businesses can tell most of their customer base to ***** off. Peoples' addiction to "Surprise Mechanics" enables this.

The models in some of the cards I won look pretty weak but I will give them a look at in time.
Who knows maybe I would be introduced to a model who surprises me.
I wonder if the models get residuals every time one of their cards are bought.
If this does happen then I should consider it as giving to charity towards a model that has low purchase rates on her cards.
The only thing is if the model is good but in 720p then I still will most likely not buy her remaining shows.

There should be some kind of checkbox on these promotions to let you choose your resolution levels and xxx levels so you only get card types you like and if there are not enough of your choices left in the system for you to play it notifies you and it is up to you to choose if you want to go down a res or up an xxx level. This may be complicated but it could be possible or just put a notice on the machine. Includes 720p and 480p shows etc.

I will not be topping up my credit balance in the future so presumably Totem have worked out that they are getting more money from people playing these scratchcard games where you might not win anything.
Same with the Joker card, you might have hundreds of entries in the draw and win nothing.

If we all just said "no", you could buy your Melena and other cards just like the other thousand or more you already purchased. I don't play these games anymore, but so many others here do, that Totem has no choice but to do business this way. Do you expect them to walk away from customers who will spend 200 credits or more on a single SE card, while also buying "dud" cards that they don't want.
If we just didn't Scratch, the SE cards would end. And Totem would retail Melena's SE card the same way they did all her prior cards. But you need to just say NO!

One of the constants I see in many of the complaints is: "I spent 1000 credits or 650 credits" (or much worse) and all I got were a few older cards or a few small 'cash back' wins etc etc etc and no special event card etc etc. How can intelligent people let things get so far out of hand? I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I'm guessing we all see it the same way: This company sells a product! They have made several desirable versions of the product. They have made it impossible to buy these desirable versions of the product! Instead, the only way to acquire this is through pure luck. Worse, there is literally no way we can know if there is true randomness behind the mechamism, we have only their word, that it's not rigged, we can't even see the odds of winning.

A person could literally spend thousands of dollars/euros and still never get these cards, if it's truly random. Not even Bugattie or Ferrari treats their customers that poorly with their special editions. Any of their customers could still get that super special edition car if they just spend enough money, no luck involved.

Imagine if grocery stores or clothes shops did this. You want a lobster tail or filet mignon? $1 entry on the roulette wheel please. No guarantee you'll get that steak, but after spending $5,000 you'll have some cans of beans and green beans to go home with.

I personally have no problem with gambling and have willingly played the other gambling games Totem has had and enjoyed them. This has nothing to do with gambling, this is about exclusivety through pure dumb luck and because of that is a 100% money grab by the company with very slim benefits to their customers (pretty sure the progressive packs and maybe the slot machine are way better deals card/cost wise for even the luckiest person in this game).

Yes, there were a few people who whined about not instantly winning the SEC on the first 1-2 scratchers they tried, but if you go back and look at the majority of the posts, what most people are really upset is the argument I presented above.

I restricted myself to spend 100 credits, and that´s it. Got nothing special out of it, but I can understand the problem that you allways have 2 stars for the special event or 100 tickets. Personally I wouldn´t mind it at all if there would also be the situation where you only have 1 star, but that´s not happening, at least not from my experience.
This way it kinda looks rigged, but overall I cannot ***** about the outcome.

I live in Las Vegas, NV. I dealt in casinos here for 6 years after retiring from the Air *****. I've been a member of VG since 2008.

And I've never felt so screwed by Totem since they came out with the asinine "games" as the only way to get some cards.

Geez, if I went to a local strip club here in Vegas (lots of them here) and they told me the only way I could "TIP" a dancer was to put my $1, $5, $10 bills in a "pool" and then THEY would randomly decide which dancers got MY money, I would tell them where THEY could go. On iStripper, I "TIP" a girl (and Totem) buy PURCHASING HER CARD WITH MY OWN MONEY. Quit trying to make me GAMBLE my money to get the card. It's a total slap in the face to what MOST RESPONSIBLE companies would consider LOYAL customers.

For God's sake, let ME use MY money to buy the cards I want. Quit these stupid gambling games. There are already several "bonus" cards I WOULD have purchased, but HAVEN'T, because the only way I could them them is by GAMBLING for them. Sorry...I'm keeping my money instead of doing that. It's pure BS.
