As at 6:30 p.m. EADT, on Saturday, 6th December 2014, we have had 12 members record their distribution of 30 possible votes.

I think I will use that time, or near it, as my daily cutoff time, so I can tally votes, post new totals for members to check if they wish, and still get to bed at a reasonable hour to properly rest my aging frame.

Here is an Interesting perspective:

I have 2745 cards in my collection.
Just took inventory of every .demo clip

46GB of Demo Clips.

With the Price of HD's dropping all the time..
I priced out a 2TB HD.
$72 lowest price I saw, $89 on the higher side

So lets say $80 bucks...

2TB = 2048GB
$80 / 2048 X 46GB = approx $1.80

So for $1.80 you can Keep Every .demo clip for every single card..

Now doesn't that put things in a different perspective?

All this to do over a few Pennies...worth of space..

these cards look great to bad the bugs aren't fixed yet. can't wait till the new version @Rex posted about in another thread gets released. really want to enjoy these cards!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad, all of my demos have been deleted a long ago, otherwise I definitely would have tested this thing. Looks to be a useful tool.

The easiest way is just to disable the speaker in your PC/laptop. Click on the speaker symbol (usually in the bottom right part of your PC/laptop) and chose the option to deactivate sound. I use this all the time.

Any chance Totem might make a proper cleanup carousel demos feature in the program? It should not be a difficult thing for them to do and would be a very useful feature from the sounds of it. I am hesitant to use this script because I don't want to risk it removing something it should not (such as the transition clips) but I would love to clean up some hard drive space provided the data really is useless. If this script was really that easy to make then surely for Totem to make something similar in the software should really be no big deal at all to do. I always prefer to avoid outsourcing when I can avoid it.

As 91Hebasu said, it would be a shame to lose your expertise. I was going to invite you to be a friend but now I'm pretty sure I made the the right decision not to. You seem hell bent on trying to destroy Totem's reputation. Why do you have to be so negative, fixated on one issue that bothers you when you have fixed it yourself?

My first post in your thread asked what you were up to. You are sailing extremely close to the wind here, my friend.

Although your knowledge may be useful to some, your attitude is . . .

You've made your point, you fixed your own problems. Now you are just showboating. If you want to be a valued member here, try being more constructive! If your computer knowledge is so advanced, maybe helping the team would get you where you want to be? Maybe they could pay you pro/rata?

MrBeeKeeper: my tool does the same, in a second, and in an automated fashion.
Except some Mod decided it was to be removed, and you have to do it manually, and slowly.

Edit: maybe I'll make an update that doesn't remove interactive clips, since it seems their problem is that it also removes those. What if one specifically wants to remove those, too? Is that forbidden? Weird...

You Script / program is fine for your own use.
To Share it, you need approval from the Team.
If A member sends you a PM and says, hey can I get a Copy..
That's between you and the other member.


Each member who alters their own collection is then responsible for any wrong doings.
It's not the fault of Totems software.

So what you do with your own computer is up to you.

regards to your question about Demo clips for cards not purchased.
You are correct that Totem presently doesn't provide a way to clean these out of your models and data folders.

as a member you would have to delete the files manually, or in your case with programming skills, write a script or program to automate it.

also, this should be done after you have quit VG and the downloader.
After you restart VG, on the advance settings screen, Right click the Sync button, then choose rebuild all.
That way, the software will know, you deleted your demo clips.

I will have to agree with everyone, on this topic. Be a little cautious about friend requests from other members. If you do not want some one to be a friend, then throw away the friend request. No *****, no foul. I find it real simple, about friend requests. Duh. Davrwei062179 out.

Wow! Thanks to all who have posted votes. We now have 10 recorded voters. 113 different models/girls have been mentioned, including 7 classic cards and 1 DeskBabe.

I think this wide spread of votes is telling Totem that there is nothing much wrong with their talent selection process.

I am having so much fun recording votes, even though I have just spent nearly 2 hours updating my spreadsheet, after less than 5 hours sleep! Thanks again to those who have posted votes already.

I will stick to one post per day of the top vote scores. Expect the next update, including scores in about 12 hours time.

Re: @Wyldanimal, how do I delete the TRAILERS for which I haven't downloaded the full version yet?

I haven't tried this and I don't have the encyclopedic knowledge of WA, but I think any folder in the models folder beginning with a, b, c, d, e, or f that has no files with a .vghd extension can be deleted as a demo only folder. The matching folder in the data folder can be deleted as well. This may be best done with the VG application shut down. The VG application maintains a list of all the cards it has loaded including demos so there may be a synchronization problem.

If you try this, I suggest you simply move one folder out to your desktop as a test and see what happens.

Also, in the 'Desktop Settings', you will see 'Sound' in the lower right corner.
Remove the check mark from 'Sounds enabled'.

I do not remember what version first has this function.

Go to 'Sound & Music Settings'.
On the right is 'Settings'.
Somewhat down the list is 'Sound enabled on desktop'.
Remove the check mark if there is one.

In an older version it is elsewhere.

Is it possible to disable ALL sounds, not just music? I don't see any options in Desktop, Full Screen, Music, or Advanced to disable the sound on the shows that are playing. I also searched the FAQ and the forums and didn't return any results for such a request.

A decision for or against one of the girls was not easy.
My 30 points spread over 16 girls. The result is:

That's actually my fault, guys .. told to sc00fy in another thread that he must be a Plat member to have a Clip Selector to be able to see all the clips and delete them ..

As I've never deleted demos from the full shows, this trash can option was completely out of mind. I've used the Trsh only to delete the entire card or to look for updates.
For me, the demos are not trash. They're part of the show, once the card has been purchased, and some of them look pretty unique actually.
But the carousel demos are different .. too much ***** space, imho, especially, if you don't like them.

Edit: @sc00fy I deleted all the unnecessary demos manually from Models folder.
You can see the difference by the file's size. Hover the cursor over the folder and you'll see .. full shows are about 500 MB or more, demos are couple of megs only ..
It took some time, but was definitely worth it - gave a LOT of extra space };-)

I'm not a platinum member, so unlike you, I CANNOT delete demos from the program.

Select the card(s), right click the trash can, Delete Demo's only.

Pictures are a Bronze and a Gold Level member.

This is not right (at least for platin members and above)

The software plays and is able to delete the demos. To delete the demos right click the trash can and choose 'delete demos only'.

To delete the demos manually (for gold members and underneath), without any script or programm, you have to go to your vghd/models folder and use the search function and search .demo. Mark them all with ctrl a and delete them.

WARNING: Don't delete the demos exxxx_itxx_xxxxxxx.demo of the new interactive collection. That are the transition clips and the transtion won't work anymore.

Yes, only 30 points is definitely too hard! ;-)

@member84392371, I see no reason to exclude Classic card ladies. I don't have any in my database yet, but can add them once they receive a vote.

Interesting development. With only BJlover's and my own votes posted, we have named 29 girls. Only one girl, Anna Tatu, was in both lists. Anna T currently leads with 2plus2=4 votes. Had to edit that twice, since it seems my plus sign is rejected by this page.
The progress total proves my point, since neither BJlover nor myself gave Anna top votes, yet she leads.

(Had to stop myself from grinning as I typed this, since my real initials are BJL. Honest.)

I'm definitely going to post... but deciding is going to take considerable thought. I'm going to have to dig through some old cards I haven't watched in forever and see if those older shows can live up to my more current favorites. This is a fun way to vote.

This is called cumulative voting. It's been around for a long time. It's an excellent way to get a group of people to prioritize a list. It works best if there is more than one round of voting with a discussion period between the two rounds where people can argue that the first round produced anomalies that should be corrected in the second round.

No it won't, but it will be hell of a lots of work to do, if you're going to delete the demo clips manually from each card you have. There was also a script for this, but as I prefer to keep the demo clips of the purchased cards, don't have it.

Or you meant to delete the free demos, which get automatically downloaded daily?
You can delete them without messing up anything and it will free up a lot of space on your HDD. Just disable "Automatically download demos" option in Settings, to not get them back in the future and leave data folder untouched (don't delete the picture cards).

Edit: Just Quit VGHD and its Downloader before deleting anything.

To answer your question about deleting the demos.....
You can manually delete the demos with no adverse effects.
What I just did with one of the latest cards was I went into my models folder, manually deleted all the demo clips there. I then turned VG off and back on(not sure if that has to be done). Then I right clicked the synchronize button in the advanced settings and clicked on rebuild all.
Activated that card only. All is fine. Card works with no problems.

As for the "it" clips, or transitional clips, you have so much disdain for.....
With the same card, I removed all the "it"(transitional) clips from the models folder, did the same thing with rebuild all and then activated that card only.
It's been playing for about an hour with no issues. Although, there are clips that have a spinning action going on for a second or two at the ending. "Magic at end" is how it's labeled.
Not sure if that works for everyone but, it works for me.

Fullscreen/screensaver works for me now too. I have had issues with the screensaver in the past. When I say "issues", I mean pretty much not working at all.

I'm running 1.2.0.52


Also, if you didn't notice, you can set it to play only one card at a time if you wish. You're not tied down to playing multiple cards.
