Thanks @pumpdude for highlighting a step I missed. From the control panel/system folder the device manager is at top left in Windows 7.

Ok. Readyfor... Please post here your exact make and model of graphics card. I'll do a search to find the newest driver for your card and point you to it for downloading.

For example, my GPU is a Nvidia GTX 650. I regularly check for updates to the driver available for my card on the Nvidia website. Best I can do for you here :)

I understand. (I also see why it is important that iStripper has a method by which the models.lst file can be rebuilt.)
I probably should have cottoned on when I saw the GUI did not react to my manually deleting a .vhddisable file.
Rebuilding the collection is not a quick process, and taking into account the rather dodgy state of my internet connection at the moment, probably a bad idea.
As you have understood, I yearn for a simple text-file method of activating/deactivating cards, as existed before iStripper took to the stage. The new GUI, now that the early teething problems have for the most part been addressed and resolved, is much more versatile than that of the old VGHD, but it doesn't quite fulfil all my needs to activate and play particular cards with any particular fullscreen that I have concocted!

User\AppData\Local\vghd\data\skins\iStripper is a location that can be hard to find since windows 10 loves to hide that sort of thing from the user and I've forgotten how to "unhide" it.

We keep remastering older cards, to give access to 3K for some, and to get optimized colors for all of them.

Keep in mind that, as it takes a lot of time, they may not be done in a short time.

Nice. I haven't used skins since I switched to iStripper but I will go for this one.

I personally am just about out of ideas because this really isn't my area of expertise. I was just trying to expand upon @HSS's suggestions since Spain was ***** at that time.

I would ask a couple questions though to see if we can narrow down your issue:

1. When did you first notice the problem? (what were you doing to your computer at that time?)

2. What happened to your computer just before this issue happened?

3. Is the problem only evident when running this program or does it happen with other programs on your PC as well?

4. Does the issue happen only with the xmas scene or does it happen with other scenes?

5. If it happens with other scenes, does it also happen when you are just running the girls dancing without a specific scene (desktop mode)?

6. If the girls are always like this, you should probably initiate a Customer Service Ticket and seek higher level assistance. Make sure you include your screen captures when you submit the ticket.

Customer service will probably ask you to email them a copy of your VGHD log but they will tell you how to find that if you don't already know about how to do it.

You could also try installing an older version of this program to see if the issue goes away. If you want to try that you can probably get one of the Moderators to show you where to find the older versions to try and how to do it.

Wish I could be of more assistance but my "fountain of knowledge" is just about dried up at this point.

I've been holding off upgrading until I understood what the new version was doing but I'm having a hard time keeping up?

What exactly is the new preview limit? Is it 2GB which I estimate as 20 demos?

And will I retain all the demos for cards I purchased or will the be removed (I want to keep them)

Wow, that is so inefficient, so shortsighted! Can't they just have one database instead?

They do. that single database is the Models.lst file.
But because of Windows crashes and such. that single database becomes corrupt., and All of the Settings get lost.
The Individual files is a fall back in case of a corrupt database.
It's saved many members countless hours of Re-setting there Active Cards.

It only becomes an issue when you try to Change the entire Collection at the Same time.
and especially if you don't have a security exception set.

The Database is cached in Memory.
it's written and closed when you Quit iStripper.
if Widows crashes, before the Database is written and closed. It Might be Corrupted.
That's the reason for the Files as a Fall back.

The reason I wanted to know is the passing of the old, simple text playlist files. In the old days the playlist file affected card activation.
I have written Excel VBA routines to read and write the new .vpl files. I want to do the same for activation/deactivation because when I load a playlist I want only the playlist to play.

If you read a VPL and then Write or Delete the .vhddisable files.
you MUST run Rebuild Collection.
The presence or ***** of the file is Not what makes the card Active or Not Active.

The GUI must do that.
Rebuild, takes an Inventory and tells the GUI to set the cards Active or not based on existence of that File.

You can do what you are trying. but you have to ***** the GUI to do a Rebuild to See the Changes.

I don't know of an external way to tell the GUI to Rebuild Collection.
So the Rebuild must be Initiated Manually.

no need to turn ON iStripper first.
got to Full Screen Then click on the Start.

Cards that are on a Playlist, overrides the Active or Deactivate setting of that card.

a on Full screen Scene, only the First Model position is From the cards on the Playlist.
if the Scene has more than One Model, only the First one comes from the playlist.
The rest of the Model positions Come from the Active cards in My Collection.

To have the cards on the playlist repeat. check Repeat. for Random order check Random.

Manually Deleting the File Will NOT make the Card Active. Unless you Run the Rebuild Collection.

you must quit and reopen iStripper to see any new skin that has been added.

edit: guess not, i just tried it. the skin shows up without need to quit.

So much easier to switch from "Previews" to "All" under Girls Store. Please give us the option to minimize to tray and not to the taskbar that shows "iStripper" on it. I have to hover over it on the taskbar with my mouse pointer to see the preview window then click X to remove iStripper on the taskbar. Very inconvenient.

Followed instructions. Skin is not showing up in list of available skins in the settings.

Well, I've just updated software (wanted to check out new wishlist) and it seems to work w/o cap.
Doesn't change the fact that my list of previous is gone. I even tried to script it and get them back, but failed... :(

Back to re-creating my wishlist. I guess I will remove all useless .demo files once I feel like I'm done with it.

At first sight it seems that I cannot do what I want to do.
If I deactivate all cards a .vhddisabled (empty) file is written into the data directory of all cards.
When I load a playlist the cards in the playlist are played when I turn iStripper on, but the .vhddisabled file is still there .
If I then run a fullscreen I only get one clip, presumably the first selected from the playlisy.
Even if I manually delete the .vhddisabled file for all the cards in the playlist, the cards do not become activated (allowing them all to play in the fullscreen).

(By the way, it seems that the editor in-text italic and cancel-italic do not work)

When i click on "Download Preview" (on Previews i already have) the Icon changes to "play preview", so this is no more a problem.
Only Problem is to remeber which Cards i have previews.

Not sure what the fix is either but it's likely that the servers will need time to update the fix. Best wait until mañana ;)

If you click on any card, the pop-out window appears on the right. At the bottom, you can click on preview. If you already downloaded it, it should stay the same as 'Preview' and the blue flag should show again on the card. You can then play the demo right away, clicking on the preview button in the pop-out window :)

How can i disable the cards when they not longer marked as preview in the store?
Im only able to redownload the preview.

Not sure what the fix is, but doesn't seem to work for me - I've added few previews and the new one is gone.

Files are there, yes, but that makes it even more annoying - your software is wasting my disk space on something that I can't even reach. And also I lost my "favorites"/ "wishlist" already, so it means I have to check some shows again just to find out that I decided they are not for me.

And it's very often somethig subtle that you won't be able to figure out just by looking at the picture: overall quality, yellow filter that makes girl look like she ***** from some illness, lack of sound in XXX show, shows that have been "upgraded" with their quality on paper but having relatively poor quality when compared to other shows, and so long, and so forth.

If the whole idea is to prevent users from keeping huge collection of previews and not buying any cards/ buing very few - why not make the cap for previews a function of cards already bought? That would give a freedom to people who have a lot of cards, and prevent newest customers from abusing nice preview system that was introduced some time ago.
That system was AWESOME and I bought TONES of cards I wouldn't buy otherwise becasue some girls look OKis on pictures but just KICK ASS when you see/hear them in action... With small number of these it's hard to stump on one in show-loop and decide - "that looks sexy, I want to see the whole thing".

I really would have no Problem with that when the Previews would be deleted from my HDD, but now they disapear from the list and still taking up space, so i have to manually search and delete them.

Sorry about this. The issue is fixed and free previews are no longer limited to 7. It was absolutely not intentional.

About the new wishlists, we think this feature is much more powerful and easy to use than the old preview filter and that's why we did not think it would cause so many problems. Once again, sorry about that.
I hope you will enjoy browsing our models again to find out which one you could add to your wishlist and who knows... you might find new ones to yout taste ❤️

Ok I just deleted a post here as I hadn't seen the 7 card limit.

However, after testing, the previews stay on your hard drive. All you have to do is disable the previews you don't want to watch in the Girls Store then activate the ones you do want to watch. If you have downloaded them, they should play instantly.

Going to test this further right now...

Ok seems that we should now use the wishlist to keep track of demos we like if we want to keep them in memory. They are still definitely safe on my hard drive. At least all the ones I downloaded since installing 1.2.148.

I don't claim to understand this, but it seems counterintuitive. It seems to me that limiting the previews like this goes against Totem's interest, i.e., while a preview might not get your attention the first time or two, it may start to intrigue you after having seen it a few times, i.e., with fewer previews, there are going to be that many fewer "temptations" to buy the full shows. No? Well, that's how it's been for me. Without any intention of doing so, I suspect I will be buying less now because of this change.
