On this subject, I totally am with @TheEmu , @Wyldanimal and @muttonjeff , and I will repeat it again, for last time: you can not change credits into real money. So - as T&C too states - they have no real monetary value. Poker chips have it, since you can change them back into money, Istripper credits NO. Once you bought credits (only real transaction here on Istripper) it makes not any difference for Totem if you keep them or spend them.
Istripper gamble is bare credit gamble, it's NOT money gamble.

On other point, though, I don't agree with @TheEmu:

No, but do you have any real evidence that it did not? Or that it will not in the future?

Importantly, "Randomly picked up from the cards you don't own yet" did not describe one of the special events cards. You can therefore imagine my surprise and frustration when I finally won a special event card—and instead of a choice (of this week's special event card), I was randomly assigned a special event card from the past.

Had this potential outcome been clear, I wouldn't have played. I thought this game was a way to win the special event card released this week, if one kept playing long enough—not a way to get randomly assigned a past special event card, despite repeated plays.

I have not downloaded the special event card I was randomly assigned. I am hoping Totem will make this right.

In the end totem know they ahve the only product like this, and will henceforth continue, knowing thers nothing they can do wrong, no accountability becuase they hide behind "credits have no real value" even tho credits cost real down to earth cash.

Several users have made this claim, but do you have any evidence that Totem have lost any customers because of these games. I agree that it seems likely that a few have been disappointed enough that they have stopped buying but it seems to me that this is likely to be a negligable percentage of the overall customer base.

I also don't like either the gambling aspect or the special event cards, but claims such as the above that are not backed up by any evidence, and which probably contradict Totem's experience as measured by sales, are unlikely to have much effect.

We may be *****, Totem. But we are trying to help. Your cash grab today will lead to less customers tomorrow. Not to mention aligning yourself with gambling and paywalls isn't the best way to improve confidence in your brand. You already show up on a lot antivirus software and sites, do you really want to make people MORE hesitant to install your product? You aren't doing yourselves any favors with these special even cards being attached to games of chance instead of just sold like a normal product from a trusted vendor.

So now there will be 4 cards I can't get because I won't play the gambling games. Dissapointing.

Oy! Now we are discussing the meaning of value?! A card in my collection represents about the same value to me as a Hershey bar. Perhaps more after I've eaten the Hershey bar.

Credits expended on a scratch card therefor have an opportunity cost and therefor an economic value.

But, who really cares? I don't think what Totem is doing is illegal. I do think that not publishing the odds is unethical. I only these games when there is a special event card in play and even then I'm reluctant to play.

I couldn't give less of a poop about the legalities of the virtual credits and their relation to the legalities of online gambling. The practice of online products hiding content behind gambling related paywalls is a DouchBaggy business practice. Don't be DouchBags.

The Credits have Zero Value in the real world.
they are 100% Virtual.

you exchange credits for a License to view the animations.
you Do not Exchange Credits for anything with REAL value.

the Net result is that you, the member, Exchange REAL money, in exchange for a License to use a digital product.
You Do not end up with anything of REAL value.
Credits can not be sold or traded between members.
The License to use the cards, can not be traded or exchange among members.

It is all Virtual.

Only, you the member, place your Own Value on it's use.
But it is well worth that value entertainment wise.

You control how you use your credits,
when, and how you exchange them for your entertainment.

That's my take on how the Credit system works...

There is no argument to be had with Totem

@shodan084 - "I will pay the bearer the sum of..." is an explicit statement that the bank note does have a monetarty value. Totem's T&C's explicitly state that credits do not.

Technically, (on an off topic note) British bank notes are not an actual currency.

There is a line printed on them that says "I will pay the bearer the sum of..." what you are holding is a credit line, a promise, from the bank. :)

In South American countries you can find piles of them in the garbage. They are not worth the paper they are printed on!

I've been avoiding joining this discussion, but here I go.

1. Various governments regulate something they call gambling. They each define it as they please. Some of the TGIF games may be considered gambling by some governments. I suspect it is not gambling to most governments.

2. People pay games of chance which are games where the outcome is to some extent dependent of random events. To me most of the TGIF games are games of chance. Chess is not a game of chance. Roulette is a "pure" game of chance where the outcome is entirely determined by random events. Poker is a game of chance, but the long-term outcome is determined more by skill than by chance.

3. People who create games of chance build in some probability of wining. While there may not be a legal obligation to do so, revealing that probability is ethical behavior.

4. I think Totem should provide enough information about its games so that customers can determine the probability of winning.

I've studied probability and statistics at graduate school and I've created stochastic simulations with are essentially games of chance with an educational rather than a profit motive.

From the terms and conditions that we all agreed to (sorry for the capital letters, that is how this sentence appears is in the T&C's so Totem seem to want to particularly emphasise it though I have added the bold highlightiing)

Moreover, as you can see on T&C, using money you purchase credits but using credits you just get licensed to play the content, you don't buy nor own it

Ok,
spent 400 credits, earned 180 from the system. Got 7 cards, 6 of them 720p. All in all ***** about 140 credits, that would be 8 new cards - but there are not 8 cards that I REALLY want to have. Was only in for the Melena card and missed it, but I don’t *****.
If you play you may loose. That’s how it goes, and everybody knows.

Totem doesn't invite half the world to play online to win any money.
I am precisely saying that Totem's gambling games are like N.2, not N.1. It's not playing online for money. Credits - with which you play such games here - are not money, and they are more comparable to marbles than to poker chips, since when you have credits you may NOT change them into money.
Only money transaction between Istripper members and Totem is when one of us buys credits. On Istripper, cards acquisition, slot machine, scratch cards etc. are not money transactions.

Well, that's not the best comparison I've ever seen. Poker chips have a face value and are considered a type of currency while marbles are only good for glass recycling.

N.1 is a licensed gaming establishment. You play legal gambling games on premises so you are covered by gambling, gaming and trading standards law, possibly along with a host of other small legal constituencies. Totem has a whole load of these in their T&C's as they are a trading company.

N.2 you are still covered by trading standards when you buy your marbles, the moment you open them and start throwing them around you are no longer covered. The receipt is a legal bill of sale. So long as you are just playing with friends in a private establishment you are not breaking any laws. When you try to start inviting half the world to play online for money, you might be in legal hot water.

If you start loosing your marbles you still cannot claim they were all faulty and return them... :)

I am against slot machines, scratch games, exclusive cards and such promos too.
But we can not say that Totem does money gamble.

1 - If I go to casino, change some money into casino chips, I play games and then I convert winnings back in money, it's money gamble.
2 - If with my money I buy a bunch of marbles, I play with friends and create a marble gamble game in which participating people can win more of them, I can not go to shop then and get money back in exchange of my recently won marbles, neither of ones I bought at first. Marbles were bought for real money, but a gamble game then done with those marbles is NOT, and never could be, a money gamble.

Istripper gamble games are comparable to case n. 2. You play with Istripper credits, which are not money, and can never be converted in money after being bought, or being won. So, on Istripper it's not money gamble.

I have done it in the past and happened to get all the special event cards, but this was just a grind now and I end up with all the cards I did not want to purchase. I guess I could've waited for a Joker card, but that's not even guaranteed if I understand correctly.

In each Data folder
you can Make your Own card picture.
Example if the card is e0125
then in the data folder e0125
make a picture and save it as e0125_custom.jpg
the size should be 162 wide x 242 tall

Now, when you Next start iStripper that card will have the custom picture you made for it.

I have a folder on an external hard drive created especially to hold a copy of the data and model folders for the now removed cards. When I reformat or reinstall I copy that folder contents back to the main folder. The fact you own the cards should be held in your account information so they will show up with blank cards but they will be playable.

any tips how to make sure that will not losse the six shows I have after a reinstal of iStripper or some other "accident"??I had problems before that made shows disappear I really did not want to loose...

Make a backup of your collection (Models folder), especially the cards removed from the store. It's the only and sure way to not lose anything.

The only cards since I reggiestered in Dev 2013 that dissappeared were those of Prscilla Jones when she took up body building full time, and I believe Totem reimbursed us for these. Alyzee is still in my collection albeit only recognised by the code and the fact that there is no card picture. The other girls cards remain in my collection unaltered.
