How do you change the "Models" directory??????

Thanks Oquijan, for the tip, but without having to potentially risk having to re-download over 50GB of content, as the post suggests, the post I referenced before worked flawlessly....

http://www.vgirls.info/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=31&Itemid=46

For whatever reason though, the link i provided was not included in my post (and for whatever reason may not be included in this post too). I posted it again right now before this sentence in case anyone else has this problem.

It took about an hour to copy my VGirls to the secondary drive, but following those instructions it took me only about a minute to make it seem as nothing was ever changed. (No worries or warning about losing all of your data!)

All that being said, I think my only suggestion for future versions of VGHD would be the GUI interface option of changing the location of the Models. Maybe these days nobody else still uses 80GB hard drives for the system while using 1-3TB hard drives as secondary drives, but I figure if my main drive gets corrupted it's so much easier reinstalling it when there's nothing there that I would miss....

There is NO reason that we shouldn't be able to save this to our secondary drives without any effort. I know everybody and their grandmother is on Facebook now, but 9 out of 10 people I talk to these days still wouldn't even be able to give a basic explanation of what a "Registry" is, let alone knowing how to research the topic on Google using the "correct" search strings.

I've been personal witness of much greater things happening to VGHD over the years than this one little request. I don't give two shits about it myself anymore since I know how to fix it in the future, but I suggest that it's an invaluable addition to your basic "settings" menu. Even iTunes allows you to do this on Windows PCs without editing the registry.
Make it happen!

Fan since before "HD"????

I've always been curious what I missed out on when I said that I wasn't a previous member of VirtuaGirl when I subscribed to VGHD nearly 4 years ago.

I had been a VirtuaGirl member a few years before then, back before there were any forums or anything like this that I was aware of.

Since then, I've repurchased some of the cards i had way back in like 2006-7. I ***** that they're in such lower quality compared to today's clips, but I'm glad they could be added to this program. The only ones I remember repurchasing for sure are Lucianna.

God, how I loved Her.....

I remember one night about 5 or 6 years ago when I was on the phone making excuses to my long-time girlfriend about why I couldn't go out, i was staring blankly and drooling for Lucianna dancing around in Her skiing outfit while I was naked on my knees worshiping Her.

It was like I could hear Goddess Lucianna whispering in my ear "that's a good boy"... "there's nothing more important now than worshiping ME"... "you're my ***** slave"... "no real girl could ever do for you what I do"....

I've jacked off mindlessly for Her so many times since then, fantasizing about that night, and how naughty Lucianna made me behave. How She later made me break up over the phone with that girl who I was eventually engaged to..... How could I marry a woman when I knew ahead of time that a Woman dancing on my desktop and smiling at me held more sexual attraction than my fiancee?

I know Lucianna's moved on and probably has a kid or 4 and maybe even an office job now, and I probably wouldn't even be sexually attracted to Her in real life anymore, but that's the true beauty of our VGHD Goddesses. Every year we get older, They stay the same age. We might have both been in our young-to-mid-twenties when i was first snared by VirtuaGirl, but even though i'm in my very early 30's now, Goddess Lucianna is still only 23 when She dances on my desktop. :)

Who is more popular, VirtuaGirl or VirtuaGuy? How many different models do you have for each and what, if anything, is different about working in the straight versus gay adult business?

VirtuaGirl features more than 600 models now and VirtuaGuy is reaching about 80. VirtuaGirl is way more popular than VirtuaGuy. The gay market represents about 10 percent of our income, it’s small but has a steady grow.

Tell me about yourself. How did you get into the desktop strippers business originally? When and how did you join Totem Cash? What is your role today and how has it changed since first joining the company?

I worked in the video game business for 10 years before jumping out to start VirtuaGirl with my partner Herve. Last game I did was Planet of the Apes for Fox, two years project, 50 people, I got really tired of it and decided to jump on something lighter. I went from doing a bit of everything, including the programming of the first version, to most
exclusively marketing and sales now.

How has your company’s entrance into the video world gone, after having rolled out VideoHub, a “sophisticated, member-driven DVD download site filled with popular, ready-to-***** hardcore titles, starring the most bankable studios and porn stars in the adult industry?" What was consumer response?

VideoHub never took off. Lessons learned, never be a follower and stick to what you do best. In our case: Desktop Strippers.

2009.

TotemCash got its start in 1998, releasing the now-legendary VirtuaGirl desktop strippers, which, according to one interview, “achieved a level of mainstream and adult success than no-one could have anticipated, with over 100 million installations.”

AVN Online recently caught up with TotemCash co-founder, Richard “Rex” Excoffier, to find out what makes virtual strippers such a lucrative business.

VirtuaGirl reached the 3 million downloads mark in 2008 — what is the story with VirtuaGirl and VirtuaGuy today in 2009?

We released the first version of VirtuaGirl back in 1998. It has been an immediate success and that version reached more than 1,000 million installs. The new HD version we’re featuring now comes with a community that reached 6 millions members in May 2009.

How have you been able to sustain that success?

I believe innovation is the key. Adding new features to the software for the end user and adding new promo tools for the affiliates is the only way to sustain success. The latest version of the software automatically brings a fresh new girl, in HD, on the user desktop every day, for free. From there it’s just a matter of time ‘til he falls in love with one of the girls and pays to see her naked.

Any success stories you’d like to share?

In 2000 my partner walks into my office with a bank statement in his hands telling me this is how much we have in bank. Then he added, “OK, I lied to you we have a bit more and with the difference we can both become helicopter pilots.” We’re still both flying today, he’s now even running an helicopter company on the side.

What would you tell a new affiliate or someone interested in becoming an affiliate about your business?

Most affiliates I know are facing difficulties maintaining their income with porn websites selling videos due to the competition of tube sites. We don’t ***** much from the tube sites and we’re an alternative product to promote along with cams and dating sites. Our product is softer than most sites around so starting to promote us takes a bit more than redirecting porn traffic, but it’s worth the effort. Last but not least, we’re the only one in this industry to share the detailed statistics of our top 100 affiliates

A little rant about the new girls

I'm sure you're not alone. A symptom of the "blues" or depression, whether very slight & temporary or something deeper, is a perception that everything begins to seem the same. "It's the same thing day after day, nothing's EVER gonna change!" I think we've ALL been there some time or another!

However, there ARE certain similarities between ALL women deemed to be beautiful according to today's societies. If they vary too much from that, they're thought to be something other than beautiful. There's gorgeous, beautiful, pretty, attractive, striking, handsome, interesting, I've-seen-better, no-way, ugly, ugleee!, yuck, is-it-catching, and oh-you-poor-pitiful-thing. (That's descending order, by the way!) There are only a few of those you want to see stripping & dancing on your screen, I bet. And, there are only so many types of dancing or movements generally perceived to be sexy or sexually arousing. Think of your least favorite VG performer square-dancing by herself - with her clothes on! Or worse yet, your Great-Aunt Agatha!

Your perception may depend on how much attention to detail you're capable/willing to give. And that can change. In your examples of girls who blend together as one, for instance, I see only a slight facial resemblance between two of them and they seem, to me, to each have their own style of movements.

Marjana is a new girl (probably one more card to go), and with her looks, attitude, and style, she's moving up into the absolutely top spot of VGHD for me and moving past some girls who've been on my list for a long time!

Maybe this phase will pass for you. Or maybe you're simply in the process of moving on. Not everybody is into something like VirtuaGirl. Whichever way you're headed, Good Luck to you!
