For myself... the fluidity of the software is undoubtedly important but the "workflow" of what I need to interact with in order to get the software to do what I want is just as important. I spend a fair amount of my time as a user on the full screen page, to get to it, instead of clicking its old simple icon I now have to go into the drop down menu and select it. It feels like the full-screen is seen as a secondary demoted product.

To set up a playlist... I have to leave the full screen scene and go into "My Collection"

Then... two more clicks to get back to the full screen page to select the scene I want to start.

Then... I decide I want to skip to the next model in my playlist... so it's back to "My Collection" only the "Now Playing" tab has closed, so another click to open that before I can skip the model. ..... and repeat and repeat every time I want to change the now playing queue or the scene. It would be nice to know if it is planned to return the functionality that was there before. I've raised this twice now and not heard anything back.

Likewise with the Carousel.... is it gone forever 😪 or just not built yet? It's one of my favourite features and must be good for sales ??? I think everyone on here would like to know what is planned. At the moment I am loading up the Beta.... having a look... and then returning to 1-2-376.

I think I know what you mean but the only clip icon that related to nudity level was the "Starting nude" icon. For me, many of these clip icons are no longer visible since version .360 but it doesn't seem to affect most members.

I agree. I was shocked at seeing @Celine 's latest posts. If it's a beta version then it should not be treated as a release version, and if it's a release version it should not be called a beta.

If you go to the istripper landing page https://www.istripper.com/ the version that new members will be downloading is the current beta 1.2.512

When I first joined VGHD as it was then, if I had downloaded a version riddled with bugs/problems I would not have become a long term member.

Regarding the drop-down menu in the top righthand corner of the GUI.

I find it odd to have this menu in this position - in almost every other program that I have ever seen menus such as this have been located in the top left, not the top right. It seems strange not to fllow what can be regarded as established practice in this matter and put it where it would be expected. However, I did quickly get used to its unusual position.

Also, could you please add Quit or Exit to this menu. Again this would be in line with normal practice. I know that Quit is available via the systray icon but there are two, *****, problems with that being the only way to shut down the program

1 - As we have seen from previous discussions not everybody thinks to look there.

2 - The systray icon is not always immediately visible as it may be among the icons in the systray overflow area.

Indeed, this new UI is the very very start of what iStripper V2 will be :-P

One of my fav news is the "Now playing:" information at the bottom left, that gives you the show + the model name of the beauty currently on your screen (pure chance that I chose my dear Agatha for the example 😇)

The settings and their different icons have been reorganized!

• The download icon is now at the bottom right, together with the sound managers;
• the settings / music / full screen are in the drop down menu of your username now, together with a shortcut to the so useful "synchronize with servers" !
• Plus now, you can LOG OUT ! No need to go pick up the "register again" option in the advanced settings anymore!

Here we are ! Curtain raiser on the new HOME page ! There you see the Most popular shows of the moment, the most recent news, the recent releases, some recommended categories and the shows coming soon !!

Eventually, the final version should let you organize the order of these sections as you wish 😋

I agree entirely with @peterbanker on this. I don't use Discord so I didn't see the post he talks about which encourages us to "Check It Out" but it sounds like it was not very informative to naive users as to just what they were being encouraged to do.

I have found that it is a common failing of developers (almost all developers, not just Totem's) to assume that their users understand more about software and software development than they typically do. Exposing users to such terms as "beta version" without explicit, clear, and very visible explanations of their meanings and of the possible consequences is a bad thing.

This is plenty good enough for me.

From some of the posts here it seems that a significant proportion of users do not understand the word "beta" when applied to a software release and think they are just getting the latest newest, greatest, and best version. Such users need to be actively informed of what they are doing. If nothing else we can then say "you were warned" rather than having to explain a technical term.

This is the point that I was trying to make on the discord forum last Saturday.
When I ran istripper last Friday to get the latest SEC a message popped up on my computer screen about this beta suggesting that I "Check It Out".
The tone and format of this message was similar to the one used when I need to do a compulsory update to the latest version.

The auto-update of the Beta is and will remain for the Beta versions only.
And nobody will be ***** to move to the Beta...
Only the "Beta to newer Beta" will be automated

Fair enough - but please allow us to delay the update even if that means we can't run the program at all, even the old beta, until we are ready for it. I my case I was very unhappy on having it happen because you can have no idea what else I was running at the time of the update.

It should be made very clear that it is a TEST version and not meant to be used by inexperienced users.

Betas should never be mandatory. Some users will not want to test the software.

No one was ***** to test the software. The choice to update to a beta was not mandatory, it was the update from one test version to the next that was *****, but this was only after accepting the choice to be a tester. Actually more than just "accepting the choice" but deciding to deliberately go out of your way to separately download and run the installer rather than use the regular update function of the software.

I do think, however, that it could be made clearer to naive users that by running the beta's installer they are partaking in a test program using a program that has not yet been fully debugged. Perhaps the first thing the installer should do is display a large "friendy" warning about this and ask you if that was OK or not. That should at least help to avoid complaints like "the software is rushed out with bugs" being directed at beta versions.

If nothing else Totem are getting some feedback on the idea of ***** updates that they can apply to the non-beta releases.

I think it speaks volumes that I was willing to knowingly risk corrupting my iStripper installation by aborting the ***** update by using Windows task manager to ***** iStripper rather than let it proceed without my express permission.

Betas should never be mandatory. Some users will not want to test the software.

When version 12376 (or 78) is no longer usable, I will be done with istripper. No more purchases and no more interaction with the forum.

And yes, ***** automatic updates are acceptable for beta releases ONLY. I completely agree with @Wyldanimal here.

I am not so happy to have no control as to whether an update is applied even to a beta.

This latest update caught me by surprise, I was not ready to accept it, so I ***** iStripper as the update was still downloading. I then completed some work that I felt was important was not interrupted. Only then did I manually apply the update when I judged that it was safe to do so. As it happened that was only a few minutes later and the work was not very important, but it could well have been hours or even days and the work could have been very important.

With automatic updates you have no idea what other work may be interrupted if the update has problems. I want to be able to control when such risky (doubly so with betas) processes.

Yes, if you can't stand finding bugs please do not run the beta. I prefer myself to have some input into the design decisions behind the new version. We have seen at least three design changes- not bugs- that have not been universally received with cries of joy. And if not for the people running the beta we wouldn't even know about them.

I wouldn't have myself expected that the carousels were as popular as it seems to have been, especially since the contents of them- and more- are right there on the home page now. But that's why they need feedback.

The dislike with the card size simplification was more predictable, at least when you consider the huge variety of displays that people are using. Two sizes aren't going to do the job.

And the issues you get with deleting cards and playlists when the system no longer keeps track of what you have deleted aren't going to be found with developers and testers that never delete cards. That takes running it past real users that keep their collections pruned down.

And yes, ***** automatic updates are acceptable for beta releases ONLY. I completely agree with @Wyldanimal here.

I should of learned from past betas with this company. and I will leave it for others as the software is rushed out with bugs every time

to all that simply criticize beta software issues... it seems you have no experience of software testing/debugging.
Totem may have 6 or so people available to test software .. so it could take many months to find and resolve any bugs.
Instead, they offer a beta test version to those members that want to help (it is not 'rushed out with bugs').
Now with hundreds of people testing and reporting bugs, the product will mature faster for release.
Please don't just criticize beta software... help if you can ... avoid if you can't

Yes I can - as a developer I have ***** from being ***** to support multiple versions of software packages. But as a user I ***** having the software change under my feet without having a chance to say that I don't want to update just now. At the very least you should have the opportunity to delay an update until a more convenient moment.

I don't expect the developers to actively support more than the most recent release and being told to update to that if I want bugs being fixed, but I also expect to be able to plan when an update occurs. I also don't mind having an "in your face" nagging pop-up asking if I want to update now or later - just don't assume that I want it done.

I hope lots of people keep running the latest beta code because that's what makes this work.

So do I, but having it ***** automatic updates on me is one way of dissuading me from doing so.

In any kind of software test the software version showing a defect is critical to understanding the defect. I think the automatic updates are a great idea. You can't IMAGINE how hard bug crushing is when you have dozens of versions in active use!

Beta testing is critical because the internal testers can never test everything over all settings and environments and preferences that the users do. I have been impressed just how well Totem has been doing with this process- especially the surveys. I don't think I have ever seen anyone do that better.

I hope lots of people keep running the latest beta code because that's what makes this work.

The reason that they exist is so that they get tested thoroughly by volunteers, more thoroughly and on a greater variety of hardware than can be done otherwise. They are how software gets thoroughly tested.
