I was working on something the same..
Totem has been updating their equipment.
New, better cameras, New Studio Management, New Processing Software,
New Encoding Software, New Filming process - Camera is fixed with no zooming.
New Lights..

There is always a learning curve with new stuff..

during a week of production up to 30 cards might get filmed.

so if there was a setting a bit off.. it affects that batch of production.

Since Not All cards are released At one time..
these issues will seem like they persist for a long time..

It takes a while to release the 30 cards affected, right..

So we members scratch our heads, and say, wow, another card not perfect, it's been a couple months now, what's going on??

When actually, it was one batch of cards, but released a card or two a week...

This thing about the video quality is tricky. And, as a matter of fact, is kinda cyclical.

The first pic, Olga Barz, might be one of the best looking sets ever. It was the product of lot of changes in equiptment, since we had a very blurry and bad quality for months before that. New equiptment needs to be tuned up. Still, that quality didn't last for long.

The second pic comes from a recent show, obviously is inferior in quality. Yet again, new technology and stuff.

The third is very recent. The quality, evidently, is getting better and closer to the first pic. We'll see if in some sets ahead all the stuff gets fixed to look as good or even better.

We had several issues. A pretty costly light blew up a few month ago and the replacement one took a while to arrive so we had to film with two smaller lights which had some negative effects on the technical quality of a few shows. Also we noticed that the technical quality of the shows was slowly decreasing. It was becoming more and more difficult for post production to chroma key small or shiny objects. There is no "miss use" of the equipment by the photographers as the lights and camera settings don't change. There is no heat issue as we must use cold lights to avoid fans to be able to record clean sound for DB.
We switched the camera fearing the CMOS censor would be getting old,but with no result. We're now replacing all the lights of the studio (we have a ton) because we suspect their intensity have been decreasing. We also have been working for months now on a new camera to film in 4k. We lost a lot of time try to work with the red scarlett and finaly found another one with a better rendering of the image. All post production chain also had to be upgraded and by the end of january we're filming our first show with new lights and 4k camera. This is just to say we are constantly working on quality but it sometimes takes time to reach your screen. You'll be pleased when you see it."

And indeed, it was a better quality, but then again new technical stuff should be playing a big part on this, cameras, software, etc, but, as said, subpar video quality is something that just happens now and then and well, the company tries to improve it as fast and as they go, so the stream girls keeps on, as everybody likes.

It is addictive as hell,my collection is up to 767 cards.
When it comes to getting cards i have used different methods,subscription,booster packs and getting credits to get single cards from the demo carousel.
Everyone's tastes are different so everyone does it differently

Gonzo is right, it's not only highly addictive, but VGHD Girls are going to change your whole lifestyle, that's for sure, plus a bunch of new friends you can find here ... ];-)

Gonzo's post made me also wondering ... which could be the fastest way to get the entire collection, every single card available, and very fast?

Subs is the cheapest way to get them all, but is it the fastest? It gives you 4 cards per day, right? Automatically added to your collection.

But what IF I had enough money to spend on my hobby, and I want ALL the Girls, and fast. I'd buy then 50 credits to purchase from the demo ...
I can get 20 models at once, which will be replaced immediately to the new ones, right? So another 20 available, and then again ... or are there some kind of limits?

Because this way (buying from the carousel and not choosing between models) you can get them all within 2 or three days perhaps, if they just keep coming onto the demo wheel. You don't even have to download them first. This can be done later, when got a free moment for that.
Then the only thing, which will waste your time is managing your bank account, when buying credits.

Have anybody tried this, would be interesting to know ... could it work ... ];-)

But whether it makes sense, is another issue.

Ok people, after careful thought on the suggestions of some of you (thanks again) have resulted in the follow rules as of now:

1 A ladder is formed by girls challenging each other daily from 12:00 to 12:00 Paris (lunch)time.
1a The maximum number of girls on the ladder is 50.
2a Votes can be posted for either one of the two girls that are challenging each other. A person can only cast 1 vote per challenge. Votes should be posted specifically mentioning the girl voted for ánd the new score in the current challenge for both girls, like so:

“I Vote for
x votes
y votes”
2b If a person doesn’t state the girl he/she votes for ánd doesn’t update the score so that it’s clear who gets the vote, the vote does not count.
3 A challenge ends when 10 votes are cast for a girl ór the challenge reaches the allotted end-time, which is 12:00 Paris (lunch)time.
3a An exception to the 10-vote win is a challenge started by a girl who's already on the ladder, she only needs 5 votes in her first challenge. The person who proposed this challenger is automatically assumed to have voted for that girl at the start of this particular race-to-5 challenge. If the challenger wins she needs the regular 10 in each next challenge of her winning streak. BUT if she loses this first challenge (race to 5) she drops 10 spots on the ladder!
3b An exception to the 12:00 to 12:00 Paris time challenge duration is when a new challenger is picked more than 12 hours after the previous challenge time ended (so after 00:00 Paris time) ánd the challenge is not won at 12:00 Paris time (the normal end time), in which case the challenge runs for another day until 12:00 Paris (lunch)time.

4 If the challenger wins, she automatically challenges the next higher girl.
If the challenger loses (the other girl has more or equal votes), the last person to legally vote picks a new challenger. He/she will still have to vote during the new challenge.
4a A challenger that is already on the ladder can be chosen to challenge the girl that is 1 position higher on the ladder (see also rule 3a).
4b A challenger who is not already on the ladder will challenge the girl on the lowest position of the ladder.
4c If the last person that cast a legal vote fails to propose a challenger within 1 day (ie 12:00 Paris time after the last challenge), one is picked by member84392371 or JayZ971.

5a If a girl loses a challenge with 0 votes she falls off the ladder for good!
5b A girl that was kicked off the ladder cannot return on it (at the time of writing this version of the rules this regards Mirka, Jennifer Galbina, Samantha Lee & Bella)

6 In case of doubt about voting, the ladder, who gets to pick a challenger, who won a challenge etc., member84392371 decides.
The rules can be adjusted/changed if needed by member84392371 by himself or through discussion/suggestions in the thread.

Exactly, some of the Girls seems to be have a "glowing" skin. Noticed it too, but I thought that this is because they are so damn hot ... ];-)

At the same time there is no problem with the republished older cards: Kami, Angel Kiss, Chelsea French ... They look just fantastic in new 1080p!

Assuming that the cards reflect chronology (which might not necessarily be the case as we've seen), I wouldn't really think that it's a question about resolution either because there are about 40 or so cards where 1080p was being used and everything looks fine (late Miyuki Son through Bijou, from what I can tell) before issues really start showing up.

Did some circumstance change for Totem? Someone new working? Making different choices?

It's not so much the resolution issue, but I've noticed some of the color really seems to be off. 1454, 1455, 1461... the skin color is this strangely mottled orange, yellow and red. This isn't just a monitor problem as most of my other cards look just fine. I've also noticed that some of the newer cards have a ghosting effect, like there's not enough contrast. There were a few DB cards I probably would have purchased if it weren't for that issue.

I remember when HD started coming around on TV, and a lot of the news shows had to rethink their makeup, as the high resolution just made the anchors look garish.

No doubt about it,"Bivorbag", whichever purchasing method you choose, it's highly addictive! I have always used credits, since I only buy what interests me, but if you're looking to get the whole collection quickly, then I suppose a subscription would be the way to go.

I think Totem uses an 'unsharpen edge' filter. It reduces the 'bluescreen' effects around the ladies but has a drawback: it unsharpens the whole image... :-\

Maybe Totem can comment on my hypothesis?
