@Astaroth999: you should consider deleting the shorter clips of all your cards, that can save a ton of space and isn't at all hard to do.

I've got about 40 cards deleted out of about 200, but it is mostly to save computer space. I'm actually now at a point where almost every time I buy a new card, I got to delete an old one. Sometime it demands a very hard decision. Probably when I get a new computer (which I really, really need), I'll download them all again. But I'm sure there's a few I'll never watch anyway.

WA has made two very good points:

1. Self moderation is the best and easiest option for everyone

2. A change to the forum to allow members to select topics/categories that they wish to specifically monitor for new posts. This is a feature on a great many forums

CV has also made a good point, none of the suggestions mean that the mods do not have to read all posts. Even though I do not post often, I (as do the other mods) scan all the posts evry day.

That is why I like WA's first suggestion best of all, as its the only one that has the mods scanning less posts.

I wholeheartedly agree with Wyldanimals suggestions, that kind of thing shouldn't be too hard to program and everyone could see what interests him/her.
It wouldn't solve things completely though, a separate solution would have to be found for the mods.
Anyone care to message someone at Totem about this?

Outfits (not much going on there either)
Auctions

Of course, the threads created by members who create and share artwork such as replacement cards and skins are very useful as well.



Lets not forget that this thread was created so one member could ***** about a single thread getting too many posts and dominating the 50 last. As if that's never happened before with any other threads ???

It's a clutter issue and has an impact on people who don't visit very often. It hasn't bothered me much and I actually made one contribution to that thread. However, for me it means a little more scrolling to see what I haven't seen before. For someone who visits only once a day it means that some more useful post may have already scrolled off the 50-latest list.

20 years ago on Compuserve, you could designate which sections you were interested in and it would automatically show you all the messages in those sections that you had not seen during you most recent prior visit. I remember once getting 400 messages that way. The problem is that this kind of capability requires additional programming and also additional use-specific storage. I'm not recommending that here.

A combination of a games/trivita section with it's own separate 50-latest might be a workable solution both from a programming perspective and for both the moderators and regular users.

If totem were to DO one thing to help, I think that one thing should be, to allow each member a check box to Follow specific threads.

Each member could then look at the Last 50, and see everything just like it is now,
Or look at "Threads I'm Following" and only see what they are interested in.

Part 2:
If Totem could Do 2 things..
The Second Thing would be an Ignore this thread option,
That would block that thread from even showing up in the members Last 50 view.
The only way for them to see it, would be to browse to it directly.

The Two combined would put the control into each members own hands as to what the see and what they wouldn't see.

Surely Totem could make a separate 'last 50 posts' for the area in which threads are moved that clog up the normal 'last 50 posts'?

I don't delete any cards. But there are a few I am not keen on.

There are a few models that don't appeal to me. No names though as that is a matter of taste.

There are a few costumes I don't like. Such as the golden bikini.

The ones that frustrate me the most are cards where the model wears a skirt or dress, but no panties. Especially irritating when the model is wearing panties in the still photos.

although this would benefit a lot of people it certainly would not be at all helpful to the moderators whom have to check every post, removing posts from the last 50 would quadruple our "voluntary" workload

CV's suggestion makes sense. It would probably be best to have a separate games topic area and not have it included in the last 50 posts. That way all can have their fun without inadvertently spamming the Last 50 posts. Just my miew.

i have never deleted any of the cards. surely there are cards that i don't like so much but that's no reason for me to delete them. sometimes i play the all from VG, DB or the Classics. then i have dozens of playlist that i can use.

It's not a ***** of the terms and conditions if a thread is considered annoying by a member. This thread seems to be the only complaint about the three word game.

This game was pulled out of the attic, dusted off and re-opened. A few members decided to have a go at it and suddenly it's a problem. What's the issue ? There's nothing offensive present.

Threads that are found to be offensive by many members remain, even after it's suggested for deletion.

Tell me.. what forum on the internet with alot of visitors have NO spam whatsoever in it?

Unless there is ALOT of admins actually taking care of it, its just gonna continue whether we want it or not.

The only way to stop this is if the Totem team decides to either stop those threads or make rules for them. Rules from members wont make a difference, and im sorry but starting even more ***** threads like this one wont do it either.

A forum on a website like this should be a fun place for the community i know but the easiest way to avoid all this is to just leave it be. If the totem team care about the forum at all which im pretty sure they do, i guess they already know about this and hopefully they will try and do something about it.

I just had a thought. I don't like the idea of cutting off threads that people enjoy. On the other hand, I like to use the 50 latest list to track more meaningful discussions. My first thought was to give the moderators the ability to filter out certain thread, but I don't think that is workable. My second thought is to create a "playground" section which is always excluded from the 50 latest list. With such a section, the moderators could move something like the Three Word Game to that section thereby reducing clutter in the 50 latest without censoring anyone. My thinking is that it is probably easier to permanently filter out one section than to filter out designated threads. I assume the moderators already have the ability to move threads to the "correct" section.

Seems the old good thread is kinda messed up. So now this gonna replace it. Have fun. ;)

Yes I agree that the recent Flood of 3 word posts has over taken the last 50.
But I have yet to receive one member complaint.
This post is the first attention brought to it.

There have been previous Topics that also caused a flood of posts, and there weer a number of PM's related to them.

So a bit of self moderation is all that each of us need to do.
