Could you please post a screen cap of what you see? You just need to press your 'S' key while a scene is playing and then go look in your data/Scenes folder. Without seeing an image, it's hard to say what the problem might be. (It should be a file called 'Capture0001.jpg' or similar).

For a while now, the scenes have been making auto cached copies of the preview windows. It's likely that the new software has restarted this caching process and causes crashes and slowdowns while the software rebuilds them. Once done, you shouldn't see any problems.
The caching process was introduced because we were all having problems each time we loaded the main Fullscreen window as, if we had a lot of scenes installed, it took forever each time to load all of the previews. The caching system, once up to date should prevent this. Works the same way as preloaded browser caches I think.
Occasionally when I've installed a new version, the software reinstalls all of the built-in scenes and none will play until sync with server has rebuilt them. I'm pretty sure that's what's happening here. It just needs a little time to do it's job :)
