Should Totem start charging more for these cards based on my judgement?
Also: special cards were most of the time for iStripper stars, not baloon-size porn business names that simply didn't deliver anything special (or in some cases - nothing decent).

I do see why cost for studio could be different depending on country of residence (not the country of origin - that hardly makes any sense - you earn where you live, not where you were born). But seein we get fresh girl like Valeria from Switzerland... I don't really think that is cheap country to live in, do you?
Also: card is worth more when people are willing to pay more, not when the cost of production is higher. If you start charging more becasue production went bananas, people will simply ignore the cards. If you hire big names that smart people preview and decide not to buy - you are loosing money.

In my opinion the problem is not the country, nor nationality. The real problem is that recruitment is not able to hire diverse girls. I seriously don't see any value added on diversity front by US office. That's myth US folks are repeating for a while now, without any hard prove. When you filter out US Stars (I believe that's the only way to get a clue on who worked for US studio) - how many Asian girls do you see?

Wat? If Totem wanted to hire an English teacher they would have to pay an American from LA a lot more than they would have to pay a University student from Kiev. It has nothing to do with ethnicity or race, but is has to do with standard of living, expectations, and the GDP of the nation of origin. Totem hires girls from Kiev because the average Ukrainian makes 4000 a year, the average Parisian over 40k. The average American makes even more...they had to pay the good American performers twice as much, and Rex stated this...so are you calling Rex racist because he paid American girls twice as much? I just want diversity, adn I don't want to totem to go broke so I proposed an idea, which has been floated...remember the Estonika card that cost more? Specialty cards should cost more and flying a girl in from America, or hiring a top performer from France is a specialty for a site that predominately shoots eastern european girls. And please stop with the moral arguments, you are on a forum for a porn site that requires you pay money to watch strippers and porn stars.

why wouldnt you treat it the same as athletes? the better or more popular athletes get paid more and and therefore totem would charge more while newer girls or less known girls would get paid less and therefore totem would charge less. I do not think that a persons origin should matter just as it does not matter in sports. Just my two cents...

I think a tiered cost system is our only hope to get really good performers or extremely hot girls on a regular basis. I don't blame totem because they are hiring "workers" from multiple countries with multiple GDPs and multiple cost of living situations. If I was a dancer from paris I would want four times what a dancer from Kiev wants because the GDP in Paris is 10x Ukraine, and it is so expensive to live in a world class city. The girls from Paris are some of the best on the site and so paying twice as much for them would probably be worth it...there would basically be three tiers. Platinum, Gold, and Silver cards,

Girls from Eastern Europe and Baltic States would be in the silver category and would 75% of current cost.
Girls from Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Hungary would be in the Gold Category and cost 125% of current cost
Girls from America, France, Britain, Northern Europe would in the platinum category and cost 200% of current cost.

I think this is only way we are going to get a diversity of girls because the girls from richer countries just cannot afford to work on a Ukrainian salary.

I'd pay double for American girls/pornstars. Not saying they are better than European girls but as far as star power, they are defnitely top tier for obvious reasons. I'm a big fan of the most of the European girls that work with 21sextury and DDF Network. i.e. Eve Angel, Zafira, Sandy, Connie Carter, etc. But you have to realize, for most people, it's all about the NAME. We're all fans of someone and regardless of what they do or perform in we watch! There are a ton of cards I bought without even previewing just because of who the girl is. If you were to tell me you were releasing Alexis Texas, Rachel Starr, Sophie Dee, or Dani Daniels cards, I would pre order them if I could! Even if they stayed fully clothed the entire time and just stood there haha. Names matter.

Another process I have found helpful when collating zips for upload:

Try to zip up from a NEW root C: directory subfolder you make like above, say eg: c:/ModelsNext15
rather than directly zip from your scenes/username/... folder

It may seem pedantic, however it becomes very useful later when/if you don't want to duplicate
on files in your previous downloads, and it puts your zip in a place where it has some context.:-)

Oh I thought I had it in a sub folder. Glad you said something. No I didn't do that when I zipped it for upload though.

@DANO70 Love it...It works fine on my PC. The only thing I did to tune it a tad ~ instead of extracting zip directly into the scenes/.. directory
I first made a sub folder ../scenes/DANO70 and extracted it into there.
Less ***** if you want to later intend to use only those images there that you have selected in your scenes as an open folder
Using an author name specific path in your zips overcomes issues where other authors may have used a similar path earlier like ../scenes/images.

Totem has stated that the current move to shooting mostly european girls from Ukraine and Russia stems from cost. Both Russia and Ukraine has average yearly incomes hovering around 4k, this is 10x less than western europe and places like Britain, France, and northern european countries. To hire a girl from Western or Northern Europe, let alone from America is going to cost substantially more, without the guarentee of more people buying the card. So here is my idea:

Totem offers a casting thread detailing targets in Western Europe and America. or Even South America. Totem will reveal that the girl will fall into a VIP category, meaning she will cost 2-3x more per card. People will vote on whether they would pay 2-3x more for VIP girls. Right now I am not spending because the current casting situation lends itself to stagnation. Ukraine/czech girls in general, look the same and act the same, and although many will buy them there are plenty who will stop as the girls continue to be the same. If you offered top notch American/French dancers I would spend more because right now I am spending nothing. This is probably an idea that totem has floated, but it needs to focus on girls from countries with higher gdp, and who have more experience in performing.

Coming back after a long time and lots have happened Virtuagirl --> Istripper, new interface and so forth.
However i find myself in a bit of trouble here, i remember vaquely that the old version had an option to put either the stripper on top of every window/program, or just to be on the desktop and when you would open a new window, she wouldnt pop up in front of it but stay on the desktop. hope i make sense.
Is this still possible? i have been looking everywhere but without luck.

Yes both are set to use all clip types except the swing in these. I thought it looked interesting as if the girl was coming up from behind the conveyer. I didn't think it would be that noticeable :). My goal was to use all types possible. The 5 girl version does have a swing and a flipped conveyer at the top as if the girl is being carried left to right on it. Oh and thanks for the confirming you can access it.

Both of ur scenes downloaded fine and run on my machine (Win 10 w/iStripper v1.2.1.72) but the first one "Atlantis 2 Girl" will run table scenes and the clips where the girl is standing behind the table make her look like she is coming up out of the conveyor. I don't know if the other one does it or not...

Was that what you had in mind?

When choosing paypal to pay, it redirects to the credit card option. Is it still not working (wasn't working 3 weeks ago also)? Will it ever be an option? Credit card has a service fee for international charges. Last time and this time had to use the e-check option to avoid the service fee.

ssjain - I just tried to load up credits to my account using PayPal and I was not able to. I only use PayPal so I am sad that I will miss out on this promotion. :-(

I've been told that all the 720p cards starting with a0655 were recorded with a 1080p camera and, therefore, can be remastered to 1080p. I don't have personal knowledge about where this breakpoint is, but it must exist since Totem is slowly remastering those cards. I assume there is a similar break point for the old DeskBabes cards.

It is likely that you are correct in assuming there have been smal periodic improvements in card quality over the years that Totem was producing 720p cards. Wyldanimal might know. I suspect that most quality differences are due to production problems with specific cards rather than gradually improving quality. However, I have a poor eye for visual quality and I've never tried to compare cards systematically.

urm you could go on to the istripper website, go to our models, select the girl you want, you will then see in the right hand corner a small video of the girl performing a snipet of the preview for that card. its small but you can right click and open in new tab, then click full screen. the quallity is not great but it will at least give you an idea of what is included in the full show. so that you can buy once you have your computer back. But i think thats a good as it will get i am afraid . the precedure might be a bit different to the above if you are using an ipad what i have described above is what i just did on my laptop, i dont have an ipad so not sure exactly how they work.

but other then that, what has been said above is correct you can only get the i stripper app on a pc or mac, no tablets or smart phones etc for the reasons stated above.

Just as an addition: From what I found (and also observed) is that there was one major change around the mid-600cards. But before that, it seems that there was also an upgrade in video quality, and I am looking to pinpoint that.
