Have spent the last few weeks reviewing, literally viewing again, my models/girls with cards numbered below 500. I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I am enjoying the exercise.
While the ratings figures for these early VGHD cards are generally lower than more recent releases, I found myself wondering why. I should say here that I have filtered out all clips containing no nudity. Some cards have only a few remaining clips - perhaps a reason for the low ratings. But, in nearly every case, the remaining topless and/or fully nude clips are the equal of most of the more recent releases. IMHO
Some of the girls/models I have particularly enjoyed in this time include:
Miss Roxx - how I wish I could see one of her Belgian DJ concerts live.
Nikita Valentin - my vote for Milf of the decade.
Vicky S
Beatrix
Viki
Nicky Case
Carmen Gemini
Misa, and, my personal favorite 'early bird',
Sandra H - she of the perfect derriere and enigmatic smile, not to mention her lustrous hair.

If you have not sampled some of these early VGHD girls/models, do yourself a favor and buy a card or two while you still can.

This discount system is just more flexible and fair than previous carousel discount. Before it was a lottery and some ppl were more lucky than others bacause some got models they wanted some didnt.

At first I liked that carousel system but then realised it put some pressure on me because there were days when I got all old cards i didnt like and got to wait for the models i wanted. That resulted to some disappointed buys from me because, imagine, I have been waiting all week for a weekend to relax and get myself a present to watch a new pretty girl and BOOM .. no girls i like came to carousel .. so i buy an average girl for a discount, rated it 7 and got bad mood for a weekend and feel like loosing money and have some girls in my collection which i dont really like.

This system however is awesome. Totem just made a trap for themselves. Now they HAVE TO release VERY good cards otherwise whey will not have that many sales because we can wait tor the next week to get the girl we like. Also they have raised prices so ppl get more selective, so basically Totem BET they were gonna sell enough cards which meant they BET those cards were worth the price raise. They earned more of my respect for that.

As for decimals, @Oquijan is right about his cup cake example.

I still like my collection BUT if this system came earlier it would have been even better. And as VIP i feel that for me the cost of being Totem customer in comparison with the FUN VALUE i get, ACTUALLY at least stayed the SAME.

There are things that I still dont like and there are a lot of stuff which need improvement and work.

But as for the new price system it feels very FAIR and affordable.

D’autre part votre information concernant le cout d’une carte est sans ambiguïté :
« Vous bénéficiez d'une réduction de 40 % sur le prix original (2.4 crédits) grâce à votre statut Double Diamond ».
Le prix original veut bien dire le prix de base et non après remise
Si c’est un problème de traduction nous ne devons pas en subir les conséquences, c’est de votre responsabilité, vous devez rembourser vos clients du trop-perçu sur les cartes à 20% de remise.
Nous comptant sur votre responsabilité de fournisseur et satisfaire vos clients sans qui vous n’êtes rien.
Votre nouveau logiciel semble intéressant, mais je ne peux l’apprécier totalement, mon ordi n’étant pas à la hauteur car ancien.

Je crois qui nous prends vraiment pour des cons.

qui le fait savoir un peu plus haut

mais 1.95 crédit ca reste un peu cher pour ne voir que des shows en 1080 parce que je ne peu pas les mettre en 3k elles ne fonctionnent pas sur mon ordinateur il n est pas assez puissant pour les faire jouer

donc je reviens a dire que l on a plus aucuns avantages

I'm also using a Mac. I'm pretty sure I saw a new "e" card on the Carrousel, but it was only there for a few minutes. So far I've been buying the new cards from the store so they don't get a chance to appear on the carrousel. This week, I'll wait a few days and see what happens.

1.95 crédits pour les nouveaux shows 3K avec la réduction diamant
1.56 avec la réduction 20% pour les shows 3k

la réduction de 20% est sur 1.95 crédits, le prix indiqué suivant, 1.56 crédits est donc le prix déjà réduit des 20%

1.30 pour les anciens shows.

@Rex I'd just as soon be able to remove and add girls to the demo carousel and wait for them to d/l so I can check out their demos. The little flash preview is too tiny. There's really no substitute for seeing a few short clips full sized on your desktop to judge whether you want a card or not.

Do you realize you're saving then the .4 for that card, right? Eventually you will get enough for another card with those "cents". In your way: nothing.

That 0.28 is a discount remanent. That's like going to buy a cup cake and found that instead of a dollar it cost 96 cents, then you ***** that you can't buy anything with 4 cents. Indeed, but it is still money, eventually you'll get enough to buy another cup cake.

How a discount is wasting money?

That might be all nice and good but what annoys me the most in all of this right now is that I can't cancel my subscriptions. When I follow to link to cancel it tells me the page doesn't exist. That is pretty convenient isn't it. And the other one can't find my transaction, how delightful.

Anyways, I am never coming back. I am letting them run out and hopefully not renew and that is it.

Oh - and I have not yet gotten any new demos/cards on my carousel. I assume it has to do with the fact that I use the Mac version and as Rex said earlier, the cards won't work on the Mac beta version yet.

The flash preview is way too small, grainy, and short to get a sense of how the model moves. What I like about the new demos that used to come through the carousel was that we got to see a little about how she moved with the pole, on the task bar, etc. That is a real selling point.
Plus, the way a model moves is very important to me. If looks were the main selling point, I would just find their pictures elsewhere on the internet. VG is a very unique product in that way.

There were girls who, also, on first view I was not interested in. Then after a while, they came around on my carousel again and I was able to later see something interesting. I then purchased a few of those. I can't say exactly *why* a model moved me later and not the first or second time around, but that could not have happened without the demos.

If it was just the flash preview, I wouldn't have gone back to that model's cards at all. I'm seconding a lot of what ChaoticEvil said, but there's my input.

What I don't get now is why decimal places are added to credits. For example on my carousel at the moment I am able to purchase one of Candy Blondes cards for 0.96 credits. Why not just make it 1 credit? Before I bought my last lot of credits I was left with 0.28 credits on my profile & I couldn't buy jack all with that! To me that is wasting my money if I cant use that 0.28 worth of credits up.

It seems barmy that we can buy a nice round figure of credits (say 20) then have to buy models that are worth 0.96 credits. We're all going to be left with miniscule amounts of credits rattling around like loose change and not being able to use them up.

About the current flash preview, dunno if possible, but maybe you could use instead something like your popping models tool. So whenever you are on a model's page you see her popping like this, but jumping to the taskbar to show her full outfit. The rest of the previews as normal with the demos in the software.

Nope, we're not talking here just about the carousel .. It's just a one option.

Therefore any chance to get a decent preview should be appreciated, methinks.

That option is nicely implemented, giving you the idea of the exclusion area, and where the dancers will show up. But if the exclusion area were centered somewhat to the right or to the left depending on the option chosen, then people who choose 2 dancers could confine them both to the right or to the left.

Maybe that is not a "better" solution (meaning in an attempt to satisfy everyone.) I guess the question is whether the dancers should alternate sides or fill one side first, and I presume that you all discussed that at some length before deciding.

Maybe this should go in ideas threads but since we are talking about the carousel...

Since the carousel is no longer discounted, how about a button on each girl's page to automatically add her to the viewer's carousel? It could maybe work on the same principle as P2P in the GUI? Would this be much work for the developers? I dunno. But might help sales, judging from some of the previous comments :)

If about the Flash preview .. the older version looked much better imho. It was larger with a better image quality and not limited with window and if I remember correctly it showed standing, pole and taskbar clips of the same card.
If the current one can be increased, it would be a real help. Right now it's rather bothering.
Sure you can zoom in or out a bit and do some other things by right clicking on the window and checking in settings, what you want, but any changes still happen inside this tiny room.
Also haven't seen any other type of clips than just standing ones .. won't give a good overview of the girl's performance I guess.

Is the flash preview the small video on the purchase dialog? If that's it, it's too small for me to get a good idea of what she looks like or how she moves. Is there a way to enlarge it that I don't know?

I can wait a bit to load a girl on the carrousel. Typically I would load 2-4 cards on the carrousel while watching one or more girls perform. I could enjoy the other shows until the new demo became available.

If I was doing some more intense shopping, I might spend 15-20 minutes selecting 6-8 cards for evaluation. By the time I was done, I would expect the first card to be available as a demo.

@nana08, les tarifs affichés tiennent compte des remises. C'est ce que j'ai pu observer avec mon compte sur le site web ou avec le logiciel.
Si tu vois aujourd'hui une nouvelle carte à 1.56 crédits (in credits of course), elle sera probablement plus chère au bout de 7 jours.

I wasn't getting any of the new cards on my demo - until today. I made my first purchase [Lia Taylor], and new cards immediately started appearing on my carousel.

For me flash preview doesnt work at all. Because the most important thing for me is how the girl looks on my desktop. Its like the first impression which is the most important. Demo preview represents ACTUAL look .. flash does NOT. I can wait for a while for P2P to start, so for me its not an issue.

Sometimes I even need a girl to be in my DEMO for a couple of days and then I realise that i like her and want to buy. It happens very often to me. But I dont really look at flash preview ..

We're casting most girl in eastern Europe and yes, girls with big boobs are not the norm there.

But trust me, we see the sales of girls with big boobs and we're trying to film as many as we can here.

I never told anyone to keep their subscriptions renewing. I said that subscriptions will be discontinued, but that we would not cut the current ones. I was thinking of members with a mid sized collection that wanted to keep buying older cards at the subscription price.

I admit did not think members will keep subscriptions running even if they were already maxed out hopping to get the new collection cards for a cheaper price. When I found out about this issue, I immediately offered theses members to be refunded.

I understand you can be disappointed realizing you would not get the new cards with the old subscription prices, but we did not try to scam anyone and offered refunds the day that problem appeared on the forum.

We don't have issues with how many cards a user could see this way. But we don't like the fact that it would takes a long while between adding a girl to your carrousel and seeing her on your desktop as the P2P takes time to start. This is why you have the flash non nude preview, so you can see how a girl move immediately.
Any thoughts on that?

You can adjust the number of dancers in desktop settings.

@capella, d'après ce que j'ai compris sur le forum anglais, nous bénéficions d'une remise de 20% pendant les 7 jours qui suivent la parution des cartes. Cette remise s'ajoute à la remise dépendante du statut (45% pour un diamant triple).

@nuage, le tarif normal d'une carte 3K est 3€. Ce qui fait, avec les remises de 20 et 40% (diamant double), 1,44€.

As I explained in the post just before yours, it's not that the new cards aren't appearing on the carousel but, like other users have confirmed, the cards from the Interactive collection are coming onto the carousel in place of a 'Last Days' card (which is what you'd expect) but NOT clearing the Last Days flag. So she will disappear from the carousel as soon as the third card after that comes down. That's often less than an hour.

Apologies if you understood the nature of the problem but I wasn't sure from your reply if you had, so I thought I'd better clarify. It was the reason I asked if the time limit for the extra discount could be increased or even removed until the problem was solved so that we had a proper chance to demo new releases.

I've always walked out of a shop with change in my pocket. I try not to wail and shout about it! ;)

On the same premise, I can only get a set amount out of the ATM when I want money too...

I was speaking of the store tab on the application. I've never purchased cards from the web site. Since I use a Mac, CTRL Click may be more difficult to accomplish. If this trick works in the VG App on a Mac, it's the kind of hidden feature that should be documented.

On a related issue, I find the store awkward to use when buying multiple cards using a filter. After buying the first card, I must reset the filter and navigate to the page I was on to continue browsing. I wish it would retain the filter settings.

I always use a SHIFT click or CTRL Click from the Web Store..
That way my Store settings remain, and the Card is open in a new Window or New Tab..
All I do is Close the Window or Close the Tab, and I'm back to my Store settings..

Because the cards from the new collection are not included in subscriptions, members who are maxed out and have a subscription can cancel it and contact customer service to be refunded of their last month of debit (or given the equivalent in credits).

To me, the real Bait and Switch is

1)Totem telling their loyal long-time customers in July to keep their subscriptions renewing and all will be well*; and then

2) in late October, after those customers have renewed for six more months (in September in my case), patiently waiting and not getting any new cards under the subscription contract for several weeks because they already have them all; and

3) saying for the first time, well those new high-res cards we have been working on all this time are not available to you. (and Totem won't be making any other kind any more).

Une question sur le prix des cartes actuellement en promo.
Elle n'est pas appliquée correctement.
En bon cartésien je calcul:
2.4 crédits remise 20% = 1.92
je suis 2 diamants donc 40% de remise soit:
1.92remise 40% = 1.15 crédits
les cartes sont toujours à 1.44 crédits donc la remise ne nous est pas appliquée.
les bons clients sont toujours bien traité en leur appliquant le tarif maxi sans remise
C'est une simplement une remarque du cartésien que je suis.

I thought Totem said new cards were never going to carousel? Anyways I'm glad to hear it's being addressed. No preview is going to be a real problem for me .. I'll decide on Amber Cute Thursday I guess.

Yeah it would be really nice to be able to pick demos you want to see. I've made the vast majority of my purchases based on demos. The carousel eventually gets full of cards I'm not interested in and I have to wait until new ones arrive that I like.

I got 2 working monitors and when i start DeskBabes, 3 "dancers" are working it at the same time. How do i make it so there will only be 1 dancer?

I don't know. Anything can be *****, but it takes some work to select a card in the store and then play its demos from the carrousel. If I were Totem, I'd try it without any limits and warn people that lints would be imposed in cases of *****.

Instead of a simple limit on the number of demo's I do a limit on the number of demos that aren't bought. I'm sure Totem would mind me downloading 60 card demos if I bought 50 of those cards. If I were imposing a limit, I'm not sure if a daily, weekly or monthly limit would work best. I guess a daily limit would be the simplest to implement in software.
