It is a fact that true redheads have the most coarse hair. Apparently has to do with less hair follicles per sq. cm or sq.in of skin. This results in a bit of a steel wool or bristly effect especially on certain parts of the anatomy. I learned this at an early age with my earliest serious girlfriend that lived a couple farms away. Bright red hair, blue eyes and freckles all over,, well almost. Lets just say that we "mowed" away a bit of hay up in the barn,whether that was a good idea or not, on account the hay and straw also being quite bristly.
