Imagine my surprise when I discovered the sad lack of an avatar and the following message on my member page just a little while ago. It reads a little something like this;
"Your profile has been reported as offensive by several community members and its display has been suspended. Please edit your profile and make some changes. It will be available for display after validation by our team. "

Now I ask you, "several members"? I somehow doubt it...
What was so offensive that hasn't been seen here on this website as the norm the whole time I've been a member?... Two beautiful women kissing?
It displayed no nudity, they weren't doing anything graphic or hardcore...

Somebody throw me a bone and explain this tavesty of justice..., somebody?, anybody?, graybeard?, cartref?....

@the complainer, help me understand your reason for reporting the avatar as offensive, cuz' I gotta' tell ya', even though it's small potatoes in the big scheme of things, it's pretty irritating....

I tried to write and post the initial message yesterday right after I discovered that I had been squelched. I was pretty annoyed, but it didn't post until today. The problem has been resolved.

Anyone else out there have this happen to them?

Apparently, I can neither confirm nor deny, that there may or may not be, an avatar eating creature loose in the virtualverse!!

The powers that be shall be investigating.

A Few Months Ago, Someone Else had the Same Experience, with just as Innocuous an Avatar !!!

Greybeard validated your profil. So you can bar him.
You have to trust my words, I know for 100% that it wasn't me, nor Patrick nor Cartref.
The team isn't that much around here at last and mostly not involved in banning a users profil. So I'm 99,99 % sure that it wasn't someone of the team. And if I see that picture, I'll say that it isn't against any rules. So we can make it 100% for the Team too.

The above mentioned circle of people is able to disable a users profile with one strike.
My conclusion: It was a couple of reportings by user(s).
Now I'm guessing. I assume that there is a counter in the software for these reports and after reaching a specified limit, the accound will be suspended automaticaly and generates an automatic response. I don't know if the software is able to differentiate betwween a report of several users or a single user which has reported over a period.

We don't know actually if it was a couple of users or if it was a single user.
We don't know if it was a bad joke or if you have a special friend(s) here.
And last but not least, we don't know if it was a software bug.

To calm down the situation, your Avatar wasn't against the rules and yes, what Didge reported about the other user is true. Also I have there two other cases in mind where it happened too.

To check the board software we can try to bomb each other out of the forum with several reportings .... except the moderators. But than I didn't want to see any whining bitches here if someone were kicked off.

Being obsessed with helping others,, I would be willing to act as a "guinea pig" for this experiment. Perhaps many members would like this idea,, or even worse,,start a poll to permanently ban me, complete with "ticky boxes" and all.

Yeah, I had this avatar banned for a bit just like you had. After a few days I PM'd Celeste asking why? I was soon reinstated with no response from Totem. Fine with me as I assumed tech glitch or malicious member...no transgressions in the pic here!

It is possible for malicious members to throw a monkey wrench into the works as it took at least 3 days, maybe more, if I didn't PM., for Totem to get to the "complaint".

This thread has become quite entertaining, but I need to clarify that Graybeard was very responsive and sent me a very detailed pm about the whole thing. He was surmising that it was possibly a ghost in the machine, and was going to look into it further.

I had assumed that if a Mod dropped me it would have been because they were just doing their job, as a result of some malcontent having issues.
So if it was some sissy *****, and if I do have a secret admirer out there, I guess I can expect it to happen again, but sheesh, if you want to ask me out, stop playing hard to get...

I have posted about this in the team forum, hopefully we get some sort of clearing up on these happenings.

I am 100% sure no mod did it because nothing was there that a mod might have done, only the fact that your status said "pending" and the red "block" band across your avatar which makes it invisible to others but mods can see the avatar in question.

I have no clue as of yet why this is happening, only the thoughts I sent to you and I am questioning all possibilities of this in the team forum. Hopefully we get an answer in the near future and get this sorted out. You are the second case of this in a week's time for me alone. I can't say if the other mods have had this happen or not recently.
