When has political correctness been an issue in the adult entertainment industry? In my view, there is nothing wrong with the word girl in the context used by Totem.

Except where a term is offensive, the path of political correctness can lead to censorship and artificial language that fails to effectively convey meaning of words. Do we want to sterilise the English language? Furthermore, I have seen political correctness with language in Australia taken to ridiculous extremes. I feel it has led to cultural damage with hypersensitivity that we as a society was better off without.

As a native Australian English speaker, I see no problem with the use of the word girl.

VirtuaGirl and DeskBabes are brand names and over time they have built up value with product identification. In a general business sense, brand recognition is a valuable asset. Many companies feel it is important to protect their brand and are willing to spend millions of dollars in advertising to support it.

Interesting thoughts... personally I would go with Models and Cards since that's what I've been using on my fan site since the beginning in 2007 =)

Using the term Model also makes it work for VirtuaGuy... not sure the guy's like being called girls in the software...? =)

When it comes to the Card vs Show, that's a bit trickier. On the website the Team have always been using the term cards and the card images are core to the product. In my view this still works... A card is a bunch of chips that makes up a show =)

I go for the word model or dancer because it works for Idancer & Virtuaguy as well.
Calling performers 'models' is gender neutral & respectful to all ages. It has worked wonders for moderators working overheated webchat sites.

I have no issues with the term Girls.

AKA the girl everyone who downloads the new version is asking about and should have had her skin named after her so that we don't get a new thread every day asking who she is.

P.S. but talking about unprofessional approach to words .. what really bothers me is using of tags as they dont always represent the reality AND description of a girl. What is written about a girl is usually totally abstract. You can take the description of Nikki for example and use it for another model and nobody will feel the difference.

I know that majority of ppl do not read that stuff but most of your girls have unique personality and unique qualities that should be noticed and described more properly.

As long as you are not going to change the name of your site and client I dont really care. I am used to logo VG. Its much more stylish than VM.

Personally I think its semantics, and I don't see any disrespect for the models by calling them girls. And since most of them are in their early 20's, they can be called young girls. Women like to be reminded of their youth and beauty and femininity, and "girl" captures all that.

A few members told us in a bug&fixes thread that they were concern about the use of girl and girls' words specifically because they convey young girl.

They told us that Desktop settings should all refer to 'Models' or 'Shows'. because 'Girls' is very dated terminology and makes the Software program appear unprofessional and that it would raises the respect level.

As English is not our primary langage, it's not easy for us to see subtilities like that, what's your opinion?

Lola Reve's newest card popped up on my carousel today. This only happend after I bought one of the new cards. I'm not sure if its related, but yes the new cards do have demos.

I don't know if this has been answered (I did a search, but didn't find anything), but will the new 3K cards show up as demos in the carousel? I used to get the new cards demos on the day of their release, but I haven't seen any of the new cards yet.

The photographer who does the shots for the cards seems a bit hit or miss. For example Lia Taylor e0001 shows a gorgeous woman in all her glory. Look at Lia Taylor e0003 though, same model but a slightly unflattering picture. same with the 3K Lola. from her first card picture I decided not to buy, only to get the demo in my carousel and discover that though a bit thin for my taste the girl is quite pleasing to look at. When I reload my account I think I am getting all of the 3K cards from Lia and Sabrise and the second Lola card.

Something to think about Totem team, a bad card picture can cost you sales.

Also remember, the less clothes the girls wear the bigger the dexterity bonus for dodging attacks.

You're right, "*****" isn't the right word. Personally haven't ever used AVG, always trusted avast! or BitDefender, but being around for awhile in different AV software forums, reading reviews, user comments and complaints about, might say that AVG's false positive rate is higher than it's an average. Not saying it's high, but the program is just known because of that, if to believe to the "average user" of AVG out there - works too good };-)
Otherwise it's a great product! One of the best among free antiviruses. Has excellent ratings on malware blocking, detection and is very good in cleanup.

I paid $50 for 50 credits before new 3k cards. My expectation of 50 cards for the $50 was not a guarantee made by Totem. The $1 card from demo carousel was not promised to be forever available. In fact it was mentioned often it was temporary and could be removed anytime and normal price of $2 card the only single card purchase option.

Now Totem gives me a discount on the new 3k cards. This discount is not guaranteed either. The value of a credit to a card can be ever changing. I am glad Totem tries to main consistency of credit to card value, but there is no guarantee of this, so no robbery, no theft and no lies by Totem.

@franswa, the analogy is not same as I did not buy 50 cards, but 50 credits. There was never a promise by Totem to give me 50 cards. In fact, when I purchased the 50 credits, if I did not wait for the demo carousel discount, I would have only been able to obtain 25 cards at $2 each. I have paid about $1.46 per card for the last 4 3k cards which is very reasonable and even better than the $2 credits per card when I purchased the 50 credits.

AVG is known to do a false positive on our download manager. This community is the proof there is nothing to ***** about in our software (if you except girls, that is...).
We're working to include the downloader in VirtuaGirl in the future versions to avoid this.

I have always trusted Grisoft's AVG over any paid product (I have used the Free Version for over eight years). I would disagree with you MrBeeKeeper that it is '*****' in finding false positives. I find it issues suspect warnings no less and no more than any other alternative products.

I'd rather any product didn't let something through because of a false negative and have it alert me now and then due to a false positive. I can decide what to do and it is easy enough to click the button for 'More Actions' on the alert and select to permit the program to run rather than have AVG quarantine it.

@livana82 - If you haven't already done so, open AVG, go to the virus vault, select the downloader and chose to reinstate it. If you need help with finding that action within the product, message me on here and I'll help you.

@livana82, AVG is somehow ***** of finding false positives. So it's most likely just a false alarm, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't control your computer regularly, just in case and I'd suggest to do this with completely another AV software than AVG ..

Malwarebytes AntiMalware is one the best second opinion scanner .. or Hitman Pro perhaps. Their detection and removing capabilities are almost 100%. Malwarebytes is free to use and Hitman (which is really fast, but very thorough) has a free trial, if I'm not mistaken.

possible one virus or other negativ program come by one other.

i suggest also after have clean your computer to download again the program by the site VG and install one time.

Yes it does flag as a threat with AVG but within the programme you can select how you treat an item, just manually flag it as safe and it will let the downloader in and let it work.

virtuagirl_downloader.exe flagging as a THREAT (AVG Antivirus). The only option I've been given is to "remove" the downloader.exe file, which leaves VGHD in the ! state with "downloader not found".

Is this a false diagnosis?

It was said before, but you are completely wrong, same as the OP.

Under the past discount system, you could buy a card for one credit from the carousel. But that is not the price. The price was two credits per card. So 50 credits got you 25 cards, always. Cards never had the price of one credit, the price was 2 credits and then there was a discount.

What was decreased in the new system is the amount of the discount. In some cases, though, according to your level and other considerations, your discount is less than 50 percent or even more than 50 percent. The only real increase was in the cost of the credits, that was really moderated.

So the ***** is actually about the amount of the discount. Well, tough luck, the discount is not the same as before, even when in some cases is better now.

Not cause the 50 percent rebate using the carousel was there for a long time, meant that the promotion was forever or that was a lifetime deal.

Now, the claim is that some people had credits purchased before the changes. And that some people think that their existing credits lost value. No, you missed the previous amount of discount, cause, for whatever reason, you took the decision to hold on those credits and not using those when the special offer you liked was available. Today the offer is different, but still there is an offer over the regular price, so you're still getting more stuff for your money.

One of these days maybe Totem would like to stop all rebates for some time, then some will get what full price and special price mean.

Finally, your burgers example is not the case here and actually proves the opposite. The 1 dollar menu is 1 dollar full price, not 50 cents at a rebate. If the day the 1 dollar menu was at 50 cents, then you would get a 100 burgers for 50 bucks. But since you didn't take the chance to get a 100 burgers yesterday with the rebate, that is on you. Today the burgers are still 1 dollar full price, but there's a different discount.

In reality, you paid for certain amount of credits. You got those credits. The credits are not cards. You didn't come the next day to find Totem took away some of your existing credits. That would be the only scenario where your logic would work. But that was not the case, was it?
