Istripper has to provide a distinction from METART and other similar softcore sites because those are free sites, with the advent of pornhub and piracy. I can see all of the METART girls anytime I want for free. Hell, instead of buying more Naomi, Nancy, etc cards I just go on metart or Playboy Europe and watch them dance slowly and boringly like they do on istripper, there is literally no distinction. What the American studio offered was a glimpsed of actual stripper shows, and a distinction from HC or Metart. The Viola, Nekane, Lucy Li, Merry Pie era also brought that distinction because thoses were so different from the softcore content. Because they can entertain. The new crop of Eastern Girls, Gloria, Nancy, Sybil, Naomi, are SOOOO boring. One card is enough to get the jist of their skill. I think Totem recognizes this as they seem to be making an effort to bring in eastern girls who can dance, "Antonia". I am pissed they shutdown American studio because they just cut off 100-200 cards of unique content a year because they messed up the the istripper roll out with their free demos, and the continue to shoot each euro girl for 4 days even though their 12 cards are all identical. They may be a small company but they have the corner on a market that could explode if done properly, and they keep playing to our ***** that they will shutdown. They could make a commitment to the American studio in LA, since they obviously screwed up the Vegas lease, and only shoot eastern girls for 3 cards and a 1 day shoot, since those girls have almost no skills that need to be displayed over 6-12 cards. The first 20 American girls were also very poor compared to the last 20, which means a longer term commitment will likely lead to more success and profit from the studio. Or who cares about American studio but instead make a committment to shooting more girls from France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, and Italy. What we get is a bunch of people saying sorry to a CEO because they made mistakes, and have to cut the quality of the product dramatically. I LOVE TOTEM, I SUPPORT TOTEM, I HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON TOTEM, but THIS ENTIRE SITUATION SUCKS, and my love, support, and spending has and will drop in the future not only because of the shutdown but the ***** of customers.

@Barley - Both the EU and the USA have pretty strict rules about foreign workers. As a European it can take a long time to get permission to work in the US - I have seen it take months even with a large American aerospace company backing the application - and its much the same the other way round. I don't know much about shorter term work but its sure to be a lot of hassle. And the performers can't legaly come over on a "business visa" because that does not cover working, they need proper permission to work.

For me the closing of the US-studio is no big tragedy. It never brought the diversity I hoped.
Mostly just some pornstars but no fresh and beauty models for my taste. and the quality...

But I could imagine that there are some other reasons also. Even if the salary for the staff in Vegas
would be similar to Paris. I'm sure that the fees for the models are pretty different to agencies
from east-europe. I have no idea about the costs for location, taxes, energie and insurances and and and...

Okay so let's look at the home base France, about 70 million people.

A quick google search will show that France has a wide range of ethnic diversity. Latvians, Turkish, Morocco, Algeria, Portugese, Spanish, italians. Seems to be a bit of variety there. I would be pretty sure you would find that in most European countries so I don't see the need to look outside for diversity.

And I am would also be pretty sure if I visited a torrent based site and did a search for Lexi Belle, Elsa Jean or Shyla Jennings and then did a search for Gloria, Valeria or Noemi Moon I would get vastly different results.

I didn't say the Europe girls didn't do porn, and explicit porn at that, but that the quality of the Europe girls is superior IMHO as is the production. I look at a Foxy card and I would the pay the full ticketed price, I see a Shyla Jennings and I will wait until she is on a clearance sale, like one of those bins they have at the front of the store with stock that has gone past it's best before date :) ....

Yes there are some excellent 720p shows that may sell quicker to new users if they were 1080p. I've added some to my upgrade wishlist, including my favorite Jasmine - Dark Priestess. But models like Carmen Croft, Nina Angel, Eliska, Katia De Lys, and more deserve at least some of there shows being 1080p.

@Rex There is a huge "market" of beautiful but cheap girls + some free advertising that you haven't used yet. Here is why you should absolutely start hiring camgirls for iStripper: first of all, they aren't any less beautiful than your usual porn stars and glamour models that you are so focused on, but they are much cheaper. For me they are way more beautiful because they are very natural. And they are so easy to find, including diverse girls. Not anymore will you have to hire an average girl just because she's black and you want to add some diversity. I'd suggest myfreecams because each girl has her own page there and you can see which country she's from, along with other information about her. But all those countries have a lot of super hot camgirls, especially Romania. And all those countries are in the European Union so traveling will be even easier. Well I read a major boost of girls from Russia and Ukraine, which I took as they will replace the content currently coming from the US, its not like any diversity came from there anyway, we were just getting the same types, girls whose best work was about 200 porn movies ago. If they compliment the beautiful girls from Czech Rep, Hungary and France that we always get now I will have no complaints.

@TheEmu I dont think USA has so strict laws against working in EU, since EU had always been partners with USA, which can not be said about Russia or Ukraine... So it's probably cost of those models to get to the shoot (think airplain tickets to and from, also hotel, daily allowance (must be higher than the eastern european girls would settle for), etc.)

@Barley - there is not only the expense but also the problem of getting work permits. In his post Rex mentioned that this had just become easier for girls from Russia and Ukraine, it is not so easy for girls from the US or South America. Its not impossible, but it entails extra hassel and time

Could be interesting for trying something like that as accessoire on a iStripper show.

Isn't it possible to hire models from USA (or South America) to come to Europe for shoots? It's probably costly when you do it by single model, but what if you take group of them at one time?
