The fact remains that there is no record here of a card appearing at 8:20 pm that day. Also the fact remains that the time it takes for the card to sell is not a valid indication of popularity.

How about taking this for an answer?

Spacephantom makes a good point. The slowest selling special I can remember was Californian Suit. Nevertheless, Jana H is one of the most popular girls on the site, whose volume sales, I believe, are only topped by Morgan.

Therefore, one should be extremely wary of basing any sort of definitive statement regarding popularity on the specials. That being said, I don't believe that Kayla is particularly popular. She only has two cards and they are not strong sellers with new members.

You all seams to forget one big deciding factor: the length of time the card has been available. Cards like the one with Jana H has been around for a very long time while Kayla is a relatively new model... Time is a huge factor to determine how fast a card on sale moves :)

Selling speed is imho a good factor for the friday specials! Because it's the first time they're on.

And there have been very good cards and special that sold slowly. E.g. the named Jana H / Californian Suit card that is probably one of the most widespread cards. It's also very reasonable to believe that if a Morgane card comes up the it would sell very slow since almost all of them had been on special 3-5 times.
Adrienn / Sex ***** was I think the slowest special. BTW.

The 'mystery card' was Nikita's card that was recorded at around 20:30 with approximatley 370 tix which led me to guess that it came up at around 20:20 or something like that.

PS: I don't sit infront of my PC all the time, but I have a system in place that automatically tracks the specials on the VGHD page that's running if I'm afk and of course if my PC is turned on & connected to the internet.

@jununjer
That's my point. The amount of time it takes for a special offer to sell is not a valid measure of popularity, because there are a number of factors which influence how fast an SO sells. The length of time it's been on sale and the number of people who already own it being the major one.

The only true valid measure of a card's popularity is the number sold divided by the mount of time it's been on sale (say the number of days).

I suspect Kayla's cards are not among the biggest sellers myself (which is unfortunate in my view, since I think she is among the better performers). To judge her popularity, however, on how fast or slowly her cards sell on special offer is unfair, especially when the available evidence does not back up the assertion that her card sold more slowly than the other new cards that day.

We need more ethnic diversity on vghd, and unfairly singling out girls like Kayla as being "unpopular" doesn't help.

@bmalcher
I still don't think selling speed is a valid measure of popularity even for the new Friday specials. There are many reasons why somebody may or may not buy a card. Firstly it depends on who is on the site when the specials are up. Some people will buy all of the new specials as quickly as they can, and many others might wait until later to get a specific cards for any number of reasons. Also number of people on the site might vary from one special to the next, affecting the sales speed. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Anyway, we're really getting away from my original point here. 008Zulu's original assertion that a Kayla card could take 12 hrs to sell based entirely on the supposition that she is unpopular does not stand up to close scrutiny.

Edit: If you don't agree - lets just agree to disagree and end this here, or continue the conversation on a new thread. Lets keep this for news of the special offers.

Never said her card would take 12 hours, i said that if another card follwed the special before the new cards were released then it 'could' take 12 hours (random "6hr special" + new Kayla)

And Friday night new releases have often been called camping events, my original assertion was that if a new card takes so long to sell then it can't be that popular. Perhaps "unpopular" may have been a poor choice in words. Less popular than they other new cards is more accurate.

For the record, Kayla seems like a nice enough sort, good dance moves, but I personally don't think shes meant for my collection.

I haven't wrote a single script or something like that (although that would be possible too, I guess).

It doesn't record the exact time a special comes up, but it close enough for "normal" specials.
To my "system":
1. I leave my browser running.
2. I start a programm that can take a screenshot from a specific area on my screen.
3. I start a macro/ script that automatically makes a series of mouse movements that corresponds to an actual person accessing the VGHD homepage, take a screenshot of the speical offer and saving it to my harddrive. This it does a preset intervalls (e.g. every 15 minutes).
4. When I come back to my PC I can use the screenshots to determine fairly precise at which time which special came on.

I came up with this system, because I try to predict how long the actual specials are going last and the more precise my records are the more data I can use to make my predictions ^^

The apps:
Firefox
Winsnapshot Maker
Advanced Key and Mouse Recorder

There were a few cases where some new cards were rated lower than that, but other than that I haven't noticed any cards that were lower than that.

Other than a few of the new cards, the lowest rated special that I can find in my records - which are certainly not definitive - is Susie Q / Miss Pole Dance. It is rated 8.52. I'm not sure what the rating was at the time it was on special.

Now Tess - Latin Temper on special
So yes a second round on the last release.
But if Heaven will follow Tess remains to be seen.
8.69 is her rating and if we are right it needs to be 8.70 to be on special.
