I'm on dial up & I want to let fellow dial up folk know about my experience getting "Special Offer" card while long download is in progress. Anything to lessen the amount of frustration swirling around the site.
You can get special offer cards downloaded while you are in the middle of a long download & therefore can take advantage of 1 tix deals if you do it this way.
I saw another card on special offer while downloading 1st card and ordered it from the home page for 1 tix. IT DID NOT SHOW UP RIGHT AWAY ON MY DOWNLOAD PAGE. I tried clicking "check for updates", of course nothing happened due to ongoing download of full card already in progress. Some of you might get angry at this point. Look in your tix total (up right next to your icon)note that 1 tix has been subtracted for your 2nd special buy, so it's happening. About 1 hour later I looked at "downloads" and "my collection" & the new card was there, not downloading("Auto download" UNCHECKED!)but ready to DL when I'm ready let it.

Mmm...Wonder how many folks are on dial up? Not many I guess...Me 'n' Lunarpup and...What other patient, boonie livin', frugal souls...?

So,you have a telephone line,and no way to get adsl???

thats the same for other connections too sometimes. If you buy a card while another is downloaded it doesn't always turn up immediatly.

I am on dsl, but just barely.
I get on average 85-88 kb/sec.

Some users have mentioned download speeds that are much faster than that.

Does anyone know what the fastest possible download speed is on the web?

that depends on your connection. With VGHD i found out that download speed really goes up if i start itunes. My normal VGHD download speed is 250kb/s. When i start itunes that goes up to 400 - 500kb/s.
Don't ask me why.
The highest download speed i have is 1250kb/s
But not on VGHD.
