So now I can be honest as well. Didge, you don't see everything and
admittedly nor do I, but I see much more than you and even more still
as I am the person that has pushed under my nose any and everything
that I have missed - and I miss a fair amount.

Without rehashing details I apologize that it did not appear that
the situation was handled fairly however I can promise you it was.

And I can tell you one more thing regarding how and why it is that
different people appear to be treated differently. They are treated
differently.

And here I don’t have to beat around any bushes with words to protect
anyone’s feelings or privacy.

If Kid is acting like an asshole and running his mouth…
and I tell him to stop...
he does.

Alerte on the other hand…
he won't stop…
and in fact…
as the history written here on this very board can document he will
continue doing exactly what he has been asked not to do…
and will argue he has the right to do it because he is now
stirring the ***** from left to right and no longer right to left.

And most important of all. There is no love between these two gentlemen.
So when Alerte tells me that he thought he was doing the right thing by messaging
Kid directly – I can hardly except this as anything other than an out-right lie.
And then to top it off he then creates a poll to get other members to side with
what in principal is correct. (if you see a wrong – one should try and correct it)

But Alerte messaging Kid for any reason would cause a fight and Alerte knows
this.

So in the end – Kid stops and Alerte doesn’t – Please, you tell me now what is fair.

And lastly and most important to me – anyone whose screen name I have to add
to the dictionary in spell check…let’s just say they have a special place in my heart
for all the time they’ve taken.

hm i read your post thouroghly Patrick.
I just hope that alerte won't change in his most important way: his will to help all user. I also wrote him to look away in the future if he encounter nude pics or bad language here (or use the forum functions available for this kind of things). I still think its alright to pm a friend if you think he does something wrong the problem is that alerte calls too many users his friends.I hope he will learn who his true friends in this community are. And i hope not to be witness to such a dirty trick by kidcadet again(look at page 33 bottom of the Actual Special Offer thread and following posts)
I'm so happy that in the new user corner we can all see why alerte is a valuable member of this community at the moment.

I think this topic has run its course and as I said elsewhere, there are reasons why legally (remember the multi legal areas that this web sites covers) because of privacy issues & ethically, the Mods or even Totem cannot go into the when's & Why's of a banning or suspension. Didge, you should be able to appreciate that.

There are things about this "banning" that most are not aware, including that it is not like on other occassions, Alerte has been TOLD to stay quiet for a period and so he is, but he can still can PM and browse all the topics. I have had a number of PM's from him in this last week.

Also when Patrick say he deals with KC he does actually do that and as a consequence KC stays off the forum for a considerable period, self impossed banning if you will. The same as Alerte is currently undergoing.

This place is not a democracy, there are rules to follow and consequences for not doing so. People are given the opportunity to stop and if they continue to offend, then the hammer can fall, lightly or heavily depending on the cause.

This is done with an even hand, even if you are not (and you not be) given the gritty details.

Your personal attack on myself was a bit of a shock, but not surprised as I know quite a few people on this site think I am a “dickhead” ask “KC”, and there a few that take every opportunity, to take feeble pot shots at myself and others from the security of their computers, I ‘m willing to wager that most these people would not have the guts to say what they say, face to face.
My own life is “no bed of roses”, but when injustices occur, I am not one to sit back and say “oh well, I’ll do nothing about it, it’s someone else’s problem, sure I put my own head on the chopping block, but I am not scared. I put the poll up “just” to see if others felt the same way!

As one Aussie to another, I think it is time to tax a Bex and lay down.

The issues of why and when are not going to be fully explained to you, nor should they be and without knowing all the details you are having an arguement with only part of the story.

You should also realise there is more than one way to "skin a cat" and if the end result achieves the same purpose, then the mods again do not have to "explain" that to you.

I my self have been ***** to systematicly ban a few people in my time as a mod, and I am rather pleased to say that I have seen them back on line eventually posting to topics, but avoiding the issues that got them banned in the first place.

At the end of the day if you are not satisfied with a (or all) mods performance, attitude or even handeness, you can always make a comment to Totem. After all the mods only serve at Totem's pleasure.

It's got nothing to do with bureaucracy, this website and it's associated forum is OWNED and the owner(s) can do whatever they want with it.

If you don't like it, the answer is simple, take your business elsewhere or set up your own website. Just get used to that reality.

There are boundaries in everything and if anyone oversteps those boundaries they get their wrists smacked, it really is that simple. The moderators have been tasked by the owners to keep an eye on the forum, they are the owner's representatives and as such have the power to do what they want. If they overstepped their remit the owner would remove them from the list of moderators.

If Alerte wants to be a moderator which is what I gather the fuss is all about, the answer is simple, he sets up his own forum separate from this one.
