Why does this need my phone number to verify my acount? Is this normal?

It's Not a requirement of iStripper, it is from Discord.

Discord recently has been sending Verification Codes via SMS to Cell Phones.
Your Cell phone is NOT attached to your account
the Number is only used to send an SMS text Message with a Verification code.

If you receive the Invalid Phone Number message when you are trying to complete your verification, it could be for the following reasons:

VOIP, Burner/Prepaid, and Landline numbers can not be used to complete verification. You must use a mobile number to verify.

Discord Changed their Security requirements.
iStripper has no Control over these requirements.

To Get a Discord Account,
Every New Discord Member MUST verify a Validation Code Sent to a SMS phone number
That is Registered to a person.

It can not be a Virtual SMS app
It can not be a Pre-Paid burner Phone that is NOT registered to a Person and Address.
The Mobile Phone must be Registered to a Person with an Address.

You can Borrow a Friends phone or a Family Members phone to get this One Time Verification Code.
But that Phone will then be placed on a Discord Hold,
and can't be used to Verify a Different Account.

No, you phone number is used only for the verification, but can not be used for another account. After that your phone number will not be used anymore, except you activate two factor verification, then you need a phone number anyway.

If the number had not been saved and attached to my account, I should be able to use the same number to verify another account right after verifying my previous account. If I can't use the same number for another account, that means the number is saved somewhere and it is somehow attached to my account.

They only use it for sending you a code per SMS to activate your account the first time.

and ensure that the data is not "misused" or misappropriatable
(i.e. is adequately protected) - but questions never-the-less.

The only concern which we should have is that all these Services are
taking properly care about our Data, which we are be willing to give to them.
If you can't trust these Services then just don't use them.

The Phone Number is NOT linked to your account.
It is NOT saved with any ones account information.

The Phone number is anonymously Logged as already having Been Used.
This is Hold so that Same Phone Number can not Be used Multiple times in a row.
The Hold is released after an unspecified amount of time.

It is a One time SMS code Sent to a VALID cell phone.
That Phone Number is NOT associated to your Account, only the SMS CODE is.


After a member Joins Discord
The Member can Choose to Activate 2FA

Again, the Cell Phone Is NOT linked to your Account
You Must have an Authenticator App on you Device
Discord Sets an 2FA private Key, that you Store in the Authenticator.

With 2FA, Discord will ask you for the Authentification Code
Which you then Look up using the Authenticator App on your Device

Discord DOES NOT store your Phone Number
for the One time SMS code
or
For the 2FA process

I am required to use 2FA to sign in..
I got a One time SMS code to complete this task.
and I never Registered my Cell phone number on Discord.
