When you click on "Advanced Settings" and look in the Connection Box in the centre of the right hand side what are your numbers.

Mine max out about 115 KB / sec

It does vary considerably, a lot of the time around 58 but down to about 7 when things are bad, when they are really bad I get the downloader.exe file not found which is a different way of saying forget it, it's all stopped, come back later.

My computer hooked directly to cable input gets 150 to 500 max speed download. I am using a wireless network in my home. The computers linked by wireless max out at 250, go as low as 56. But that is my network's fault.

As a whole, Totem's download speed seems to be about the same as most sites that I download from on the Internet.

I had to switch to dsl because of connection issues with my cable company. When my cable connection was working, I'd get shows downloaded at 500 to 700+ kb per second. I could download a trailer in under 4 seconds!

I bought the mid speed dsl. AT&T calls it "ultra". MY VG downloads are consistently in the 115 kb per second range now. At least it works consistently.

well mine normally increases when i start iTunes. With iTunes i got normally around 450k. Without it around 250. My guess is that this is connected to the mDNSResponder.Exe that is installed with iTunes or any Apple-Application.
Thats on XP where i have my main account
On Vista where i have another account i have a much bigger difference as with iTunes the speed goes up to 1000k while without it its at 300k.

Sorry to get that old topic up again, but doesnt want to open new identical one.

I notice one "advantage" of VIPs according to my tests - my VIP account is downloading with speed 50-100 kbytes/sec. When installed new version on one test PC - I download trailers with 500 kbytes/sec.

My question is - is that one of "advantages" for VIPs, or it is just coincidence? How are speeds on you guys? Maybe problem is with downloading of full shows only?

My download speeds are from 150 kbs to 185 varying from show to show with my DSL connection, even slower than 150 if my computer is running something else.

Oh poor babies!! I'm on wireless mobile broadband and the speed i get is between 30Kbps - 70Kbps. I usually hit the download button and go to bed, leaving it to download over night.

I guess I should feel lucky that my shows DL in minutes, not hours as opposed to slower connections, don't have to wait long at all :)

Pffft, Plasonic, you are in on the ground floor. Just buy you one of those big Huges 12 foot dish setups , set up a few T-1's and sell internet service to everybody else ... see, problem solved and you're making tons of money too ... lol

My speed is between 320-350 kbs. But when talktalk were running a test on the line because of connection problems it was slowed down to 20-50 kbs and a download took up to 2 hours.

here the proof of my itunes factor with VGHD downloads.
Look at the system time to see that both pics are taken within minutes.
Difference is only that i closed itunes(and opened Photoshop but believe me that this only dropped the speed to 750kbis/s for a short while and the speed was going up again when i closed itunes).
BTW: Thats the upcoming version as beta you can see on the screenshot. The menu on the left is already modified by me doesn't look like that on regular skin.
