I agree with orclover on one thing: The site that Spacephantom had running (v.girls.co.uk) and which he discontinued when virtuagirl became istripper and which also appeas no longer to be active (server unavailable is the message I get), was invaluable to me when I switched from the 3K cards to building my collection of 1080 and 720 cards. You got an impression of each card that really helped my buying decision. And you can tell that Totem appreciated this attention to detail as a number of his reviews are pinned to the top of the comment site, as sometimes are more substantial comments by other users. Apart from Spacephantom, I always also appreciate the comments by users where you can tell some effort went into to get at some details or general sense of the show (such as Everthangever (might have misspelled his username here, sorry), or WyDude, for Deskbabes, among the most helpful for me).

To continue in some way such a service as Spacephantom offered by Totem itself might help costumers who are looking to build their collection based on certain criteria, or just a more detailed impression of the show before buying it, but I can't say whether it would outweigh a cost/benefit analysis by Totem. Also, where would you start? At the beginning of the 3K cards? Difficult to say.

Bottom line: See how this could be helpful to some costumers and increase their sales, but also how some others might not care, and less certain about its practicability.

I think there is some merit to the original idea. Someone tries to make an objective 'review' or a 'comment' for each card. This is then 'spiked' at the top of the comments.

However, it is difficult to be objective. So maybe getting a subjective review with facts could work as well?

And, getting a official posting from a totem member could perhaps generate some negative feedback if purchasers of the card didn't agree with the official post.

So, therefore, I think that totem should search for a small group of customers to make this type of 'post'. Then, the one out of the group who does the review of a specific card gets to buy it a short while before release and for a slight discount, and in return he, or she, makes a 'positive' review that tries to be objective.

I experience a sweet-n-salty combination of anxiety/excitement right before Cara Mell's next card comes out...

@DANO70 - whether or not you can vary the opacity or colour using the opacity: and color: clauses of a node depends on the shader. If it calculates a colour and then multiplies it by gl_Color then the clauses will work as expected but if the shader does not use gl_Color then the clauses will have no effect (and if the shader uses gl_Color in an unusual way then the clauses can have unusual effects). Essentialy what happens is that the color: and opactity: clauses set the four components of gl_Color and the multiplication, if it is present in the shader, merges them with whatever the shader has otherwise calculated. If the shader does not do the multiplication then you can either add it yourself or you can render to a framebuffer and use that as the source for a quad with opacity: and color: clauses.

You can't simply add opacity to the sprite with the shader as I used.

My laptop is too weak, so I can not use too many girls (up to 2, I can not play with fire for too long and will crash.) So I use a mirror. You can delete the mirror yourself and add another model. Thank you for your suggestion that I will try.

@DANO7, thanks for pointing out that benign shaders used directly can keep the clipnamesprite
showing without requring frame buffers. Something I wasn't aware of, that keeps the code elegant. 👍

One thing that cropped up when I was making opacity animations for the clip name..
It looks like the clip name starts and ends later on very recent cards.
I wonder if Totem have changed the commencement settings in their recent card codes that
has affected this ?

I agree with the OP. I prefer cards where the model's outfit looks relatively conventional, perhaps with outer clothes being a little more transparent than normal.

I also love bras. Indeed a regular plain bra is very sexy to me. So it's a shame to miss out on something so simple.

@tresk - to follow your analogy more closely. Totem did not label anything as the equivalent of "strawberry" and then deliver "raspberry", they used a label more like "fruit" or "berry".

@orclover : I am not trying to "shoot down" your proposal. Detailed reviews or just more detailed descriptions of a performance would of course be beneficial. My point is merely that, in my estimation, it would be neither simple nor cheap to provide something along these lines.

@tresk : Ah, I think I see what has happened. You seem to have interpreted the "anal" tag as meaning "this show is analy orientated" when all it means is "there is some anal content". Totem have not deliberately misled you but you appear to have misunderstood what the tags indicate. As I understand it a tag, any tag, does not indicate that a card makes a major feature of anything, merely that it is present, for some unspecified duration and intensity, in the performance. For some tags, such as "cop" or "big boobs" there is little difference between the two possible interpretations (though I suppose that a show in which a police uniform was worn for a few seconds in a single clip would still be tagged with "cop") but for others, such as "anal", "stockings" and "bare feet" there can be a lot of difference. It would be better if the true meanings of the tags was clearer so that there were fewer misunderstandings.

Please, also note that tags like "anal" also serve as warnings to those who want to avoid whatever is being tagged I vaguely remember that was why this particular tag was added in the first place, but I could easily be mis-remembering.

I, for one, appreciate the historicity that you bring to the Forum. I had not even looked at the Forum before this year - and only then a few months ago.

I have benefited many times - not so much as to which cards to buy (whether by luck or wider acceptance through old age, I have lucked out in being very happy with the shows that have brought me, fairly recently, triple diamond status). The pluses have arisen from the advice and relevations - on, among other things, withdrawn cards and even use of the Showroom. Of course, I now value those things that I pick up on the Forum - a perusal of which brought me into this thread this morning.

I even now participate in casting polls! No biggy for veterans, but for me a newbie!

I have not doubted/under-valued the contribution that Forum participants provide and, of course, Totem would be wasting a resource if the views raised were not being monitored.

So to be as clear as I hope I can - whilst on some priorities you and I may differ, I am glad (TRULY GLAD) that you are `out there' working on improving the product. I am a beneficiary of this, after all!

The interesting thing that occurs on this board is customers often give ideas that go ignored or knocked down quickly by naysayers, but totem is actually looking at these forums. I am sure that Rex sees much of the topics on here. I remember when a little known poster brought up the idea of discounts based off of a gambling system. if memory serves he was shot down with the logical comeback that totem doesn't have the resources or coding assets to do such a thing, this was at least two years ago and now we have gambling discounts,and people love them. Another suggestion years ago was to change xxx to something more like dancing intermixed with dildo play...this was shot down and now it is reality, years later. There used to be a site where a customer posted fairly decent reviews with card specifics about clips types and nudity levels with some other details. I built my collection around this site... literally went from 50 cards to 1000 based on the suggestions from this reviewer. If totem can replicate this model I can guarentee it will encourage customers to invest...heck I am sure they can tie it into their marketing of the product as well.

If I may enter an answer, just on the chance that you thought I was belittling your balance of credits. I was not. If anything I very much envy that tally. It empowers you - with the opportunity to heavily influence demand for models - such as Kristina. I, also, do not doubt your `savvy' on the site. You clearly post more than I ever will and are very likely to be well versed in the where-and-why-for's. Just hoping to clear any air, here.

I always thought your idea had merit - you are seeking greater transperency in what is on offer. My own experience has not brought too much disappointment, so not a priority for me. On the basis of what you seek - and how you have argued - a no-brainer. My satisfaction with the existing situation is not a critique of your view but a measure of my contentment. Both perspectives are right - for their holders. I do not begrudge your push and hope you do not seek to ridicule mine.

In the past, I have lobbied for views that I have held, which were obvious to me, but probably had little traction with many other members. I was not trying to rally anyone. Otherwise, like you, I would have started a thread.

A triple diamond may have spent over 30000 credits so my 1500 is really a drop in the bucket, and I can tell you if they were shooting in America that 1500 would be gone really quick, like in 3 or 4 months...

There are few things going on, I filled my account over the last two 600 for 50$ deals...so I saved something like 20% on my refills, 3 times now. I get my cards for 40% off, really only buy cards when they are 12% off, and are really getting each card for an extra 20% off because of the refill deals, of course because of diminishing returns this is more like a total of 58% off, but anyway. At the current pace my 1500 will last a full year or more, rather than 3 or 4 months if it was like 2016 again...that means I would be refilling sooner if the cards were better or I at least THOUGHT they were better. That also means I can wait until their next refill discount to refill which helps me and ***** totem...unless the company goes under, which I do not forsee in the near future. There are thousands of totem users, but only a dozen or so regular posters on the forum, I imagine that the thousands would appreciate more transparency as they spend money in an industry that is generally free. The whales will argue in totems favor all the time, which is fine. I want a better product, so I ask for it.

I echo your thoughts, @muttonjeff - I like the way things are now.

I was amongst quite a few who clamoured for the return of Luna Corazon. I even raised the issue, before her first showing, in a support ticket. It may - or may not - have influenced their decision for Luna Corazon 2. Many try to have input into the direction of a site to which we have varying levels of commitment. Natural enough.

I have a nice balance of unused credits - NOTHING LIKE 1500 though. I seek different objectives in cards than many others. The way that the reviews are done now is fine by me. To me it is all subjective, but I often read those reviews. How much they influence my choices - I doubt very much at all. It is gratifying to see similar aspects appeal to others. And I am fine with that.

But whatever aspects @orclover seeks to improve his satisfaction with the site is, of course, also fine by me. The users love the site (well most I am sure) - their input is intended to assist not undermine the site. More power to them!

That is true, but once upon a time i was bronze.... it didn't stop me then and won't stop me now. Sure I have cards that i never watch but that's the way the cookie crumbles. Buying more cards does have its benefits.

10 credits= 1 euro including 50% bonus one card cost me 16.25 credits right now.

Seriously dude that is less than $2 per card, if you cant afford to play you are swimming in the wrong fishtank. All things considered, Totem are doing a damn fine job with a great product.

Totem get beautful girls into their studio and ask them to perform for 30 to 40 minutes production time. Usually 6 times over more or less. In two days. Totem have no control over how good the girl's performance is.

BUT they paid the model and have to sell their cards or it was a waste of time and money. WTF would anybody else do???

Does Totem not ALREADY have the money - by your purchasing those 1500 credits? How you expend them will reflect your choices, but, as I understand it, the sale is already made. Just that you are not receiving value from an enormous cache of credits! Or have I misunderstood?

My assumption, but it seems logical to me. When my credits grow short, I am urged to buy more, by a pop-up. I am not urged to select cards when I do `top-up'.
