The "X-Rated" level was added only a few years ago, but I remember a bunch of blow-ups on the forums here over some "possible" penetration (by a lotion bottle) in one of the clips of Natalie Blond (Card #a0488) when it first came out. Also, many of the Classic clips have fingering as well.

I think it's almost random whether a clip gets the "Full Nudity" or the "X-Rated" label. At least, I can't really see any difference on the kinds of clips we're talking about.

OK. Let me correct some errors in what I said and add some details.

New cards are not added to the playlists. However, I almost always have the "Always show" "new cards" filter on. What this means is that when I load a playlist and filter for enabled the new cards will still appear. It's an artifact of the VG application that I make use of regularly and I forgot how it works.

The Mac equivalent of the CNTL click method of selecting multiple items is the Command-Click. This capability dates back to the first Mac long before Microsoft began working on Windows. I use to, but not for long selections because I often fumble and click without holding down the Command key. This causes me to loose all my selections! I've made this mistake lots of times in lots of programs so I just don't do it when I've got a lot to select. Instead, I'll select a dozen or so items with Command-Clicks an then apply whatever action I want. Then repeat for another group. I just can't select more than a few dozen items in VG or any other application without messing up and going back to start.

To see how the playlist is encoded, simply open one with a text reader. Text Edit on the Mac does this as does Word Pad on Windows. In the Mac (I've never looked at VG files in Windows.) you'll see a list of all cards that where marked either as favorites (with a heart) or as enabled. A card that is both will have it's number shown twice. Here's an example:

e0019#e0023#FAVORITE:e0023#FAVORITE:e0024#

Card e0019 is enabled, but not a favorite. Card e0023 is both enabled and a favorite. Card e0024 is a favorite but not enabled.

Cards are listed in sort sequence starting with a0001 if you own it and going up to f0011 of you own that.

Since each playlist is a separate text file, it would be very difficult to update more than one playlist at a time. Difficult, but not impossible.

Regarding the VG UI:

I agree that the UI could be done a lot better. There are too many hidden features, something to be avoided according to all the UI design concepts I've been taught.

Regarding VG documentation:

A good UI design should need very little documentation, but most applications (not just VG) are less good and good documentation is a must. Good documentation should both explain what every the UI artifact does and also how do perform basic tasks. For example it would make sense to include step-by-step one what to make a playlist. The current VG documentation has not yet been updated for the new version of VG and the old documentation left a lot to be desired even when it was relevant. In addition to needed the services of a good UI designer, VG would also benefit from a good tech writer.

There are some playlist/clip managers for Windows that were written by members of this forum. I'm working on something similar for the Mac, but it's slow going in my spare time. I have some Apple Script that do some useful things with playlist but they are very limited. I just finished updating them to work with the current beta. They run on my Mac, but I've gotten bug reports from other users that I haven't had the time to resolve. If you're interested, send me you email address in a private mail message in this forum and I'll sent you what I have.

Till now it works and it's not so difficult. But without your guides I think noone will know how this works.

My suggestion for Totem is following: Add a popup mouse rightclick overlay on every card where you can select: Add card to playlist A,B,C... (list of existing playlists).

Add more buttons under the playlist buttons with the playlist I have created A, B, C.... (instead of load playlists). You have enough UI space for more than 20 lists...

May add the following selection: Play all shows of one card, card by card ----- or ------ Play all shows of all cards randomly mixed.

Maybee we can choose one day in which order we want to play the shows. (imagine how you want to manage your musiclibrary, your music playlists and music mixes. Then you know what would be cool features for playlists...)

And finaly: Totem, please add some more tutorials and tips for new and normal users. Never forget: The dumbest user possible must be able to use easly 100% of your software, not the most intelligent and experienced user (Gameproducer rule).

Well then that has to go..............Wait if I did that My collection would get really dusty, I guess it can stay then.

I've never used a Mac so have no idea how it works compared to Windows or other multi-platform software :( I do know that the Mac upgrades are lagging behind the Windows version at the moment. All this was explained in the last couple of days by the Team as of course, they have to get the Windows version stable before they follow it thru to the Mac. If that is a Mac bug, report it! :)

Hello everyone, sorry about the noob question but..
I remember a while back when a video started to play, it would play till the end of the clip (the model then faded out) and the timer between strips would reset. However, I find out today that for some reason the model starts to play a clip, then continues to play several clips 4 (fading out and in between them). Is there any way I can change it to how it was before, when only
a single clip of the whole strip would play every so many minutes (as I've set them in the option menu)?

For Windows, cards bought after a playlist are never added to any playlist.
I know this, as I have a few dozen playlists, and play some of them from time to time.
I just checked three playlists and find they are the same as I last saved them.

New cards are NOT added to playlists by default.

The erotism level you can set for your shows does not work. Shows will be any level despite what you might set the level at. Please fix this.

Although Dorsai6 is correct with all he said above, there is a much simpler way :) If it works differently on the Mac then I apologise but I'm pretty sure it should work the same way as Windows.

If you already know which girls/cards you want to use for a playlist, do it this way:

As Dorsai said, first make ALL cards disabled on the Playlist tab. (So all are greyed out). You don't need the filters if you already know which cards you want so don't worry about them :)

Then, (in Windows) we can hold CTRL key and then left click on each card you want to include. When you're done selecting the cards, look at the bottom of the screen and you should see that a number of cards are selected. Then hit the green tick or check mark. This will enable your chosen cards.

Now look at the playlist tab again and select 'Save Playlist.' Name it anything you like and click save.

Next time you want that particular playlist, just open the tab and click 'Load Playlist' and enjoy :)

thank you for your guide, this will help. It's not userfriendly (complicated) but it will work.

VG still has a lot to learn about user interface and userfriendly use of their software.
I hope they will ask userinterface professionals to make their software more userfriendly (I studied gamedesign, userinterface and projectmanagement beside of graphics & design).

I've started to notice that the majority of cards in the past year only go up to "Full Nudity" instead of "X-Rated", but I've also noticed that some of the "Full Nudity" clips feature pussy play. So I gotta know, are the lines between "Full Nudity" and "X-Rated" getting blurred, or is it a possible naming/labeling issue?

I'm also a Mac user and I'm using beta 1.2.0.53 as well. I'll try to help you. There are some tutorial discussions about playlists on this forum as well but I don't know where they are or which section to search.

To make a playlist, you must first make ALL your cards inactive. You do this by checking that all the filters are disabled. That is they all show a check. See the first screen capture above. Then click on any one card and follow that by a Command-A. That will select all cards. Now click on the green checkbox once or twice until all the cards are disabled. See the second screen capture. When they are disabled they will appear in faded colors. See the second screen capture.

Now enable those cards you wish to include in your playlist. You can do this with filters or by clicking on them one by one depending on the selection criteria you wish to use. You can check what is in your playlist by unblocking the disabled checkbox in the Status filter. See screen capture three. You can now save this as a playlist and only the selected cards will play when you load that playlist.

One note, cards you buy after you create a playlist with be included in the playlist by default.

since the new version is out ill cant see a full show for now. Means ill activate one of the show like Nikita Bellucci and can see only 2-3 clips of the full show. Every girl appears now for about 2-3 minutes after that new girl is on the screen. With the old version i could see a full show. Now i've must always open the clip selector to get back to the right clip(non nacked, fully nacked, xxx show).

Any ideas?

I did some playlist, but when I start VG it never plays the girls from my playlist, it always plays any of my 1600 girls in random.

So for what are playlists whne you can't play your lists?

Btw why VG plays 6 shows from same girl in a row and not at random as before?

I don't see any of the girls I want to see except I always load the girl solo I want to see, so that's too much work and no more fun...

Latest MAC beta version

The Mac does have a "Start at Boot" option in the Advanced Setting tab. I think that works now.

At one time it was necessary to remove a file from the application's package. It's been over a year since I did this, so my memory may be off. If you right click on the VG app in the applications folder, the second item from the top is "Show Package Contents". Click on that. You should now see a folder titled "Contents". Open it. Now open the "Library" folder. In that you will find a "LoginItems" folder. I think you will find a start-up App. Try moving it to your desktop and rebooting the Mac. See if that works. If it doesn't, put it back. If it works, you can trash it or put it in some other folder for safekeeping.

Does the Mac version not have a 'Start at Boot' option that you an untick on the Settings/Advanced tab? Seems the easier way to do it to me, as then the software usually remembers this setting and doesn't reinstate it when you upgrade to a new version.

On any page of the website, take a look at the upper left corner.
You will see small flags.
Click the very first one (far left). That one is English.
Once clicked, every page will be in English.

I'm not sure about Mac but there should be a folder somewhere that has a collection of programs that load up automatically, with WIn it's called a Startup folder, find the similar
folder on the Mac and move the VGHD program out of it and place it somewhere you can get to it. so you can decide when it is to load up.

Incidently, a little off-topic however, if you are sick of the VGPlayer stopping long music mp3's whenever you leave fullscreen, you can get around this by checking both
music enabled on desktop
music enabled on fullscreen

however you must keep model animations live on your desktop ( click the taskbar V icon to red ) before you run fullscreen. Handy to know.

@rwsex: I too had issues when they changed the software after .84 The Team have already said that slo-mo is in the works sometime soon. Pause is already back in your options. Go into your advanced settings on the GUI and you can select your mouse click options to change to pause. Myself, I use it on left click as it suits my purposes for screencaps :) You can set it to what you want for your purposes :) I would also like a fast-forward option but haven't heard anything about that yet :(

Regarding the old .84 bit about scaling to 180%. This has been fixed for most people. Depending on your screen resolution, in fullsize desktop mode, you can set the clips to play as big or small as you like. They now go to 110% of your screensize. Many threads have discussed this recently but the software has changed so that you can set your largest 110% to fill a high resolution screen. My own standard 1080P TV is also my monitor. I have the scaling at 98% with the, 'Don't exceed 100% of source clips' checkbox UN-checked! I haven't found a problem so far with this setting :) 720P and 1080P cards are obviously different sizes but they seem to work pretty well for me in this new software :)

This is all new to all of us so may take a little experimentation to get it just right.

In the meantime I will drop back to the version 1.2.0 .34. Frankly the older clips and the newer high definition clips are more than adequate for my viewing.

Sort of.. sure. It looks like if a clip changes, the new clip does not reset the preset animate condition of the same scene when you nest some functions in the scene file.

You'll see at the end of the FractalG005 SCN script it has 3 closing brackets instead of the usual two } . Thats because in FG005 I made it to have no closing bracket immediately following the animate function of Backdrop sprite, and I guess all the included subsequent functions are each closed within that nesting. The third bracket at the end of the script should have closed the other scene presets normally after the camera & then refresh, however next clipsprite maybe "inherits" some functions previously doubley entered into memory via the nesting, so to speak. I don't completely understand it myself yet because the last listed clipsprite (front Clip1) has not inherited any of Backdrop's animation, however its cool to see any new weird & wonderful outcomes work visually by accident or otherwise. thanks for the reply.
