You seem to know alot about business, do you own one and if so did you start it
by A,B or C? Most successful long business are run by people in their 50's to 70's
and they didn't get their without a profit. If you don't own a business you may
want to check the age of the person you work for, if they ase in their 60's or 70's
you may want to look for a new job just in case you work for one that can care
less if the business goes under.

When I first started in my industry I was 1 of 60 people. When I left less than a decade later there was over 1000 in the US and 4000 globally during that time we went from millions to billions in revenue. It was built on providing a superior offering. We also were the most expensive in the space but provided value that vastly overshadowed any competitor. Average age of the company was 25 when I started and 28 when I left.

Want to know the interesting part that company existed 25 years before I got there except 15 months prior to me joining the previous owner sold off the company to a 30 year old wealthy entrepreneur who completely turned the company over from tracking profits to tracking customer success as a main metric.

People do buisness with people based on value. You can charge more and make more money if you provide value. I will point out my statement again that "the best companies typically look to balance and give lots of value for lots of profit taken."

I would not choose to work with/for a company that only cares about profit and has it as the primary decision maker on business practices because long term I know it ***** my earning potential.

I have moved in to other opportunities which again are driven by providing superior customer value and charging more because of it. I also see small businesses in my area struggling trying to chase profits instead of defining a value model that sets them apart and wonder why XYZ is doing so much better than them.

Yes profits drive the business forward but they come after the hard work and providing an exceptional customer experience/value.
