I know others have talked and ***** about the ridiculous amount of XXX shows, but I would like to know how this happened. After seeing these ads for years, I finally bit and tried the app out because the ad was for a Sabrisse show, and I recognized and liked the model. This was right in the beginning of the crystal clear and animation phase and I was pleasantly surpised by how great this app is. I have since then bought every single non-XXX crystal clear show and it still feels worth it to me. I bought a bunch of XXX cards in the beginning, too, but I stopped buying them altogether because they were all disappointments to me.

2 or 3 years ago, I started to see them pushing the XXX cards more. Almost all of the home page advertised cosplay shows were XXX and it was getting close to 50/50 XXX and non-XXX cards (which was still way too many XXX cards in my opinion). It is now 90% XXX and I wouldn't be surprised if they cut non-XXX altogether. This program has been around for a long time and the XXX cards have always been there. Why are they all of a sudden selling so well now? I know there are obvious reasons such as a push from Totem ***** them into the cosplay cards (cosplay and XXX is a bad mix, too) and advertising them on the home page more, but what changed?

I've seen people argue that both XXX and non-XXX shows are nothing new and can be found anywhere on the internet but I disagree. Sure, there are nude modeling sites with stripping videos but they are constantly edited with cuts and face zoom-ins etc. A static shot of the entire model stripping with this kind of quality is unique. The XXX shows are the most low-effort, amateurish content on the internet. All a woman needs is a webcam and she can put on a masturbation show on any of the dozens of webcam sites. The stripping and dancing is the core of this app, it made it what it was and I'm watching the best softcore content on the internet slowly disappear into generic, amateur, dime-a-dozen content. Does anyone know how this happened? Is it because somebody in charge at Totem just has a fetish for webcam shows?

I think ti's because this masturbation sells more. It's simple - the company wants to sell money and selectors or people who enjoy the striptease pay less.

That and in general I think Internet and pornography got way more hardcore nowadays. And porn entered into the mainstream, so the shocking value of a woman undressing is not there anymore, even for yound adolescents - you need hardcore to keep people interested.

I don't know if it sells more on here or not. I just know, personally, it doesn't do much for me. A lot of the women that I've purchased that do it have actual XXX videos of them getting straight up ***** somewhere else... possibly, even in Point-of-View (in 4K). I would argue to say that beats out anything these guys can offer. The way the girls currently do it isn't even that sexy. They can't posture up or do anything. The view is usually blocked for the majority of the time they're doing it. I'm not exactly paying to use my imagination here. In comparison, them doing a tempting dance/tease is way more appealing and something I can't get anywhere else. The masturbating is pretty meh. I don't mind it being a part of any of the cards, I just hope that it's limited and not eating up 20%+ of the total runtime.

I'm just saying what I think is right, not what's objectively right :)

And unfortunately, in some shows we're left with 20% of the runtime being non-XXX clips.

I also don't buy shows for the XXX factor, but I don't think we're in the majority :)

It seems like XXX cards started being focused on heavily during the pandemic. There was an uptick of webcam models during the pandemic for obvious reasons. I really hope this XXX explosion on here isn't just a kneejerk reaction to that trend. That would be really, really dumb. Abandoning your core product and core audience to bring in a new audience is not a good long-term business decision. The mainstream entertainment industry is learning that the hard way now. Your product became successful for a reason. The best thing they can do is continue to improve on that product. They were on the right track by adding animations and having clips where they start off nude in almost every show. Destroying the core of their product instead of improving it, seems lazy and unwise...

Not quite true.

There were fewer XXX cards in 2020 (133) than there were in 2019 (160) and 2021 (227).

The main decline in XXX cards was around the switch from VG to iStripper. At that time I believe Totem said the XXX cards were not profitable, in particular the duo cards (which is a shame for me because that is the XXX content I really prefer).

In 2016 there were only 53 XXX cards released however it looks like Totem had a change of heart because the number of XXX cards has been steadily climbing since the low point in 2016.

And yes - I find some of the XXX solo scenes somewhat boring (paticulalry when you have 3 off or 4 off six minute long clips) and I would prefer a bit more "striptease" content.

Just to raise another voice in this thread.
More XXX please, I don't need any normal cards. The current XXX cards have clips of everything and that's okay, even if I prefer a XXX card being all XXX an not just 15min. IMO a XXX card with less than 15min XXX is not enough.

Quoted and bolded for the truth. There's no point in alienating paying users telling them to bugger off, Ullubu.

Nor is it your place to do it, either.

Well, that escalated quickly.

In point of fact, those that like the non-XXX iStripper content have NOWHERE ELSE TO GO. Because it's unique to iStripper.
It was invented by Totem and they're the only ones that do it. And they do it very well. It is a true shame that it is mostly represented by the back catalog rather than current production.

Whereas XXX content is ***** everywhere and in many cases will be of higher quality than what is possible on iStripper given the limitations of their girl-on-a-little-bare-stage-with-a-fixed-camera format.

And I do not think that more diverse content in the XXX cards is an adequate answer to this. The XXX clips generally take half the run time, so much of the normal content has to be sacrificed. You can't really do anything about that.

Whereas if we just had at least 2 normal cards from each girl per shoot (that is only 2 out of 5 or 6) we could all be happy. Something for everyone!

Maybe we could do some poll or something like that to get better idea what everyone prefers, because from the recent card composition it surely seems like everyone must prefer XXX cards, but from the comments I see here and also in the second thread talking about this topic, I wouldn't be so sure.
As I have already said, I am buying XXX cards especially because there are no non-XXX alternatives recently, but I absolutely agree with many other users that the non-XXX cards are more fun to watch for me usually. I was happier when the ratio of XXX to non-XXX cards was 1:1 or close to it.

Great point and one that everyone seems to have forgotten..the uniqueness of this app in the first place.

Sure you can. XXX clips don't need to be 5-6 minutes (or more) on average when 2-4 will do just as well. You certainly don't need 5-6 minute clips of the girl sucking on a piece of plastic. That can and should be condensed at least a little. Even freeing up just a few minutes can make a huge difference in adding more variety to a show.

Most girls are not trained in dance in any sort of way, whether club, pole, ballet. twerk, belly, ....dance is a specific skill that takes time to master. Most girls are models and have more training in using toys to perform sex shows than any dance. This is where istipper being a niche product *****, as the girls generally do not dance for other products. Even webcam girls rarely dance on cam. XXX shows provide the girls an avenue to feel comfortable and perform in a way more similar to their other shoots. I wish totem invested more time into training and scripting shows but the girls need to complete 6 shows, with 5 costume/hair/makeup changes, a VR shoot, a photo-shoot, paper-work, lunch in two days. Basically the girls aren't trained enough to perform dance only shows, to maintain interest from enough of the customer base. People want xxx, partially because girls perform best at xxx, as they are mostly all erotic models, not dancers. Totem tried idancer, it didn't work because the professional dancers didn't want to be nude, and people didn't want to pay for clothed professional dancers. We just have to hope they shoot more non-xxx for the few pro dancers they do get.

I doubt that the models mind to dance instead of playing with dildos, but what do I know. Trained or not, their dance can be charming and it is at least real.

You make an interesting point, but I don't buy it. Looking back at the catalog for almost 2 decades, they seem to have had no problem acquiring the top talent in the adult entertainment industry from many genres (nude modeling, porn, actual real strippers, etc.) I've been here since about 2015-2016. That year and the few years after it, this site was at it's peak, in my opinion. Super hot model after model were being booked, top notch such as Gloria, and Mila Azul, and many others. During this time, there is no way in hell the XXX cards were selling better. And yet, almost every cosplay card would be XXX and promoted on the home page.

I don't have the hard data, but my gut is telling me that from what I've seen, the push in XXX shows is unnatural and might not even be tied to sales (at least when it first started around 2018 or so). I could see them making a decision to at least try and please everybody and going 50/50 with XXX and non-XXX. But it is now 90% XXX. That is almost a slap in the face to their core customers, who've many, like myself have spent thousands on their product over the years. Now most of the new models have only XXX shows and that is ridiculous. Hey, I at least have saved a ton of money these last few years. But still.... not cool, Totem.

They aren't dancing in a relaxing environment, a club, or their living room with friends. They are dancing for HOURS in front of a green screen with a director giving them directions, maybe not even in their native language, while having to watch for floor markings, all the while having to strip off new outfits, high heels, and they need to get it done in a designated and scripted time. Throw in any insecurity about dancing skill or discomfort with being naked in front of a room strangers while dancing and it will gets uncomfortable.

Versus. Play with yourself to orgasm but keep your clothes on. Suck on this dildo. Play with this toy while naked. And we will give you 5-7 minutes sitting or laying down to do it. You can even look away or close your eyes while pleasuring yourself. The only problem arises when they have to stick those dildos and ride on non-stick surfaces.

The girls you named are not objectively good dancers. You might find them attractive but they do not exhibit any dancer moves, even if they might be able to do ballet, they weren't going show that in most shows. 5-10-15 hours of gloria doing the same thing is going to get boring and sales will drop...Gloria could show her limited moves in one istripper card, then do a cosplay dildo ride in another, and use a hitachi in another, and no toy in another and make MUCH MUCH MUCH more money for the company. The only time it makes any sense to have non-xxx is when the girl doesn't do xxx and therefore is cheaper to cast, or if the girl is absolutely amazing at dancing, stripping, and pole dancing...which is rare.

Nonsense. Like I said, the decades worth of non-XXX shows prove you otherwise. If their shows are so boring then why are they rated so high? Sitting down and masturbating with a dildo for 6 shows is fucking boring. The stripping shows aren't all about dancing skills anyway. Being hot is the most important thing for me, and I don't want to see hot girls sitting down blocking their privates with a toy for 20 minutes. And even if the XXX shows sell better now, I strongly doubt they sell that much more to justify a whopping 90/10% ratio. Insane! There is something fishy going on...

VGHD went bankrupt or nearly so, the product is thriving with the new format relative to VGHD. I agree that 5xxx shows can become boring but there is more diversity that can be done with a xxx show than a non-xxx show. You might find Gloria hot, I do not and her shows bore me and are deleted. That is the problem...people have different interests and istripper have to create a set of cards that interests the most people. You, who love non-xxx will still buy 5 cards because you will still get value from each card. People who love xxx will buy 4 cards...people who love dildos will buy two cards, people who love masturbation only will buy 1 card. People who love cosplay will buy 1 card. People who love pole....you get the point. I do dislike when they don't script cards to hit certain skill sets. Like if a girl is a pole dancer but she has one pole clip...or a girl twerks but only does it on one card, or a girl does the splits but only does it sparingly. Heck, did you know Carolina Abril actually can do acrobatic pole work? She does it once in one clip on one card. That is where I am like ...wtf?

Where are you getting this data? I know this isn't 100% accurate, but you can only give a rating and vote if you own the card, right? So this should give us a rough indication of how many cards are sold, right? I have a lot of cards and just checked. The non-XXX cards have waaaayyy more votes than the XXX cards in general from what I just looked up. I know the older cards will have more votes, but I was looking up cards from the same time periods. I have a XXX Belka card in 2020 with only one hundred and something ratings. Her non XXX cards I looked up have either close to a thousand range and I saw one that was almost 1200. In the same month! Over 10 times more votes? This blows me away! If it isn't sales, then why is this happening?

I know that's just one model, but just looking up right now the number of ratings in the same time period from when they started pushing XXX, the numbers were mostly close, or leading with non-XXX. This is a small sample size, just from me looking now, but from what I am seeing, my gut was right. This was a decision not led by finances but by some other factors. And also, when VGHD switched to IStripper and saved the company, it seems like their numbers were much better then, than now with mostly non-XXX shows and that is most likely because of the increased technological quality of the shows, not fucking dildos, lol.

In adding to that, I believe that also around that time 2016, maybe a bit later, they switched from the full xxx cards that had only table clips and three xxx shows in one card roughly (each show with a consecutive "arc" of 3-4 scenes), to ones that had non-xxx scenes, standing/pole/table full nudity, in a way leading up to the xxx scenes at the end. I actually liked that kind more - now some of the xxx cards only seem to have perfunctory non-xxx standing scenes, which is a bit of a shame if you like the mix, and you don't know the ratio in advance of buying the card; some are described as table-only shows which I appreciate for transparency, and some get the mix quite right to my opinion.

I think that over the long run, if models do several takes, istripper is more happy seeing them all do some xxx content, if only that they think (and maybe have the numbers to back it up) that this diversifies the sales. All of that is to say, yes there is more xxx content now than if you go way back to VGHD (at least that's what my memory tells me, and back then the cards only were named "model name solo") but for a few years now the xxx card has meant something different than it did back then, and that started out with each xxx - card having more non-xxx content, because people appeared to be getting bored with it. Let's see where the trend goes to next.

In previous years Totem would post the best selling cards, although I don't think they have done so for 2023. It was hard not to notice that almost all of those top selling cards would be XXX. And I think we can be sure that Totem tracks what sells very carefully. So if the trend over time shows the proportion of XXX going up, well, I am pretty sure there are solid sales reasons behind it.

And unlike an auto manufacturer- who can have a diverse lineup of vehicles instead of just making what sells best- Totem can only make a fixed number of cards. So I don't expect this to get better (from my standpoint, anyway). I expect it to get worse.

Why is it that everytime dancing comes up so does the argument that they have to be pros at it?
What about the fact that some of the women are also boring to watch masturbate? Same dildos, same poses, the same repetitive routines,.

The fact is we don't need pro dancers to make standing and pole clips entertaining. They just need to be beautiful,(they always are) look good in a costume or outfit (they always do) and strip out of said outfit and then pose or lightly dance naked at the end. So what if some of them can't dance don't make them. They can just pose, strut a bit, wiggle their butts a little, shake the boobies..anything has to be more entertaining than sitting them on their asses for 20 minutes every show.

If I'm stuck watching a model ***** herself with a kitchen appliance of some kind then they can also give me a few more swings around a strip pole or a few more minutes standing and bending over in a beautiful skirt or string bikini that they would have no ability to wear in public (at least in most places).

Basically the girls aren't trained enough to perform dance only shows,

Again that's not what we're asking for nobody wants all dancing shows. IDancer was just a stupid idea..(dancing without nudity pphhfftt). If people want xxx give them xxx. Just not five shows 20 plus minutes worth with every model. This is not rocket science. We're not asking for much here..

Yes, I know, that's why I said it's probably not 100% accurate. But it still should give us an indication at least of what's selling more. Even so, it still looks like the number of ratings are close for a lot of models. If XXX cards were selling more, I don't think they were selling much more. Enough to have a 90% ratio? Noway..... that is just dirty.

2022 was a very good year for xxx (explicit) cards.
Of the top twenty (20) cards for 2022, only two are non-xxx, both of Belka.

Even though it was released late in 2022 (Dec. 16), the very best selling show of 2022 is : From 2nd to 5th we get: Kitty and her amazing red dress. Then comes Sia Siberia in her favorite cosplay outf...
I looked and could not find a best sellers for 2023.
I did a forum search for "best sellers" (minus the quotes).
I did a browser search within the 'everything about istripper' category all the way to before the end of 2023, by date of last post.

Vghd was originally the 'a' cards and all had card names.
Solo (and duo) were names for the 'c' cards which were originally DeskBabes.
The oldest 'f' cards are also without real names.

It seems that mostly the change from unnamed to named cards happened at the beginning of 2016.

The last unnamed 'f' card and the first named 'f' card:

I don't even know if I trust those best seller lists anymore, but look at that, most of the shows on that list were cosplay. From what I saw, the cosplay shows have double or triple the ratings which is an indication to me that they sell better. Years ago, maybe around 2017, when XXX cards only came out like once or twice a week, I noticed that all of a sudden, XXX cards would get the cosplay shows. They would be advertised on a big banner on the home page which had to have given them a boost in sales. Even back then I thought it was weird that so many cosplay shows would be XXX. Now it's starting to make sense. They started getting the cosplay shows to artificially boost their numbers so somebody could justify having more XXX shows. I even noticed that back then and actually was worried it might start being a 50/50 ratio. I had no idea they would go as far as 90% XXX though. They have a unique softcore product. Why would they push so hard into the XXX realm with so much competition? Seems foolish and if these ratings are any indication of sales, then the numbers do not justify this move.

I agree with jclown. They don't need to take years of tap and dance or anything like that. They just have to make an effort to do it while not being awkward. If they were given a bit of guidance and like a day or two of practice, that's really good enough. No one is asking them to break dance, do acrobatics, or anything crazy. Just show some personality and confidence/playfulness or something. It's not rocket science.

Looking at sales and stuff, I'm not really sure can accurately show anything. I don't avoid cards just because of it. I may not be all that interested in the massive run time it can have, but if I like the girl and the clothes, I buy it. If I like the girl, I just try to buy all her shows. I can't be the only one like that.
